Good morning Mick and all. Lovely blue sky here at the moment here in West Sussex. Rain during the night but nothing like you poor souls further north. I am hoping the rain will stay away until after midnight as we are going to a ‘light and sound’ show this evening with DDs 1 & 3, SiLs and oldest DGCs. Two groups of four at different times. DH and I will babysit youngest DGDs while parents have their turn.
Glad you enjoyed your visit to Prestwick Marydoll.
Sorry you missed your health walk BlueSapphire.
Love your singing carpenter Pitt.
Hope your DD manages to get a doctor’s appointment and feels better soon Susan.
Happy Birthday to Harrigran and MrMonk ??

Good Morning Wednesday
(97 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its a blue sky but with cloud this morning in Brackley .
Went out yesterday , despite occasional rain showers, it was warmer than recent weeks .
Today, stay in , maybe a small shop , plus watch the Giro on TV unfold , even the weather conditions in Italy are faced with rain.
Mind you it feels like March and April rolled into one .
Take Care,
Mick
Love the photo GrandmaJean. Along with Marydoll’s photos I’m quite overwhelmed with nostalgia ?
Good morning all from North lakes. We are on our way to Cockermouth. Home of William Wordsworth. Weather nothing to write home about. DD phoned to say there was a horrific thunderstorm and hailstorm last night.
Didn’t manage to read much of yesterday’s post. Lack of wifi!! Susan if your DD is still in when you go for the GC, maybe you should take her straight to hospital? What a dilemma!! Hope everything is OK
Keep safe everyone and enjoy the day!!
Grandmajean, oh nostalgia indeed. ? I have a similar one at Saltcoats, I'm off to look for it!
Aah, grandmajean just look at you. I recall that everyone looked so ‘formal’ in their photos and in their dress for going out - no random snapping then. And every ‘post war man’ looked way older than his years! But didn’t we have fun! ?
I have that photo on the Isle of Wight! Costume was dark red which gradually faded ...
Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders where it has just stopped raining.
Nannytopsy I have been to 3 GQT shows including one here in our town and I invited the team for tea. I got to meet Bob Flowerdew, Eric Robson, Carole Baxter and the lovely others. We talked strawberry varieties over vegetarian humous. Bob said he doesn't tell people he's veggie because he knows how they always go to far too much trouble but he does appreciate it when he can eat everything. I didn't get to ask my question though.
I have just had my eyes tested which was a horrid experience with a mask on. I have cataracts developing so will need prescription glasses for driving.
I am so glad you had a wonderful day out Marydoll you deserved it! I love all the accompanying photos too.
I am glad the garage is dismantled Stilllearning
Sorry to hear about your DD Susan that is such a worry.
Happy Birthday to Harri and any others . I don't have a May birthday - mine's in August if you are saving up
Hello, Mick and All from a Carlisle of sunshine and cloud.
For me, it's a day of housework, admin duties and sorting stuff out. I'm hoping to get rid of some during the week in various ways.
Happy birthday, harrigran, it's a landmark one.
Marydoll, my late DH and I shared our home with a someone, or Mr Someone as I called him!
Enjoy Cockermouth, Gwenisgreat, one of my favourite Cumbrian towns with that wide main street and independent shops. Unspoilt by too many cafes, outdoor clothing shops and tourists.
And have the best possible day everyone.
Glad I have provided some nostalgic amusement everyone ! I had curly hair under that cap and suspect my mum didn't fancy washing it and listening to the squealing after I'd "been swimming" - happy days. Hope you find the Saltcoats one Marydoll - happy holidays there too.
Cherry we had kitchen ‘hell’ last November, worth it though, we found a pub that delivered hot food, heaven, you’ll love it when it’s done.
So pleased you had a real adventure out Marydoll you’re like a truffle hound for a bargain!
Good Morning from a damp France. But only damp, not getting the downpours we need. Another droughty-Summer beckons.
I note that yesterday Urmstongran wondered whether the tablets recommended by DW Ashcombe were Viagra? As we haven't been able to be together since October 5th, I think I'd be in a bit of a state by now - even at 72!
I attended the pharmacie (French spelling) to collect my prescription aspirin (75 mg per day, as prescribed by the cardiologist) and the dishy young Pharmacist who'd injected me a month ago enquired after my health, which was nice.
This afternoon DW and I have two Zooms. The first includes up to 10 others in a virtual alternative to the usual Wednesday Club organised by a theatre member, mover and shaker. Then we draw breath and meet again, just us, to pick over the frailties of some of those we saw earlier!
I hope your day is going smoothly.
so my eyes feel like the snake in the original Disney Jungle Book! that made me laugh AuntieFlo!
??
Loving the photos ladies, thank you for sharing. Similar ones of my sister and myself are in mum’s house - a box in her wardrobe. We’d have been in Blackpool (mum was born there) at the open air Lido with a donkey ride after .... scratchy sand rubbing our skinny legs on the creaking leather saddle, the donkey man trotting alongside saying ‘gid-ee-up’. A Punch & Judy show with an ice cream before going home and me crying cos I couldn’t have the donkey (Sparky, Blossom, Line of Duty?) to keep forever. Ah, memories....
Good morning (just) all, sunny & cloudy here in Devon with the promise of showers later. Off to GP Surgery this afternoon to have he dressings on my legs changed. Since being Hospitalized in January with a severe case of Cellulitis I'm slowly on the mend. Right leg is much improved but left leg has become more troublesome. Daily visit to see Nurses with District Nurse visit at the weekend.
I feel fairly upbeat though with the lifting of Covid restrictions as I've had both jabs. I hope to be able to meet up with friends again soon for coffee.
Glad I drive as I've been able to do bits of shopping & visit my DD & DGSs as well as keeping up with my appointments.
I've missed coming on GN most mornings but hopefully I'll be back but not every day .
Hoping every-one is ok. My thoughts are with those who have worries, health or otherwise
Good morning belatedly from a wet but turning sunny north of Scotland.
I have been reading but not posting lately, however the swimming costume photos command a comment. I have such a photo somewhere taken at Rothesay. Will have to look. Black and white of course. My itchy, itchy scratchy costume was bright blue. I think I wore it from about age 3 to stretched at age 11. I remember all the bobbly bits filling with water and pulling it all downwards when I stood up out of the shallows.
My mum and aunties would be huddled on a tartan rug in front of a sand dune. No picnic tables or chairs. We went to the beach on our own two feet carrying everything. Water in an old lemonade bottle and sugar sandwiches.
Thanks for the memories.
Back again after a quick trip to town. DH got his hair cut, and I don't think they've left him any ?
I popped into my favourite charity shop, to donate some trousers and a couple of books. I came away with a book, a greetings card, and a wonderful bargain gadget for pouring a heavy kettle.
The trouble is that once the kettle is on the 'cradle', it cannot sit on it's base that is the power source. Oh well, another donation
Forgot to say Happy Birthday to all the lucky people today.
Legs, it's good to see you posting again. I hope things start to improve for you.
Cellulitis is horrible, I came back from Rome a few years ago with it in my legs.
I was fortunate taht I realised what it was and saw my GP ASAP. A day later and I would have been hospitalised.
Loving the photos.
Marydoll you have hardly changed!
I have the exact same swimsuit but can't find the photos.
It's lovely to see you are back Legs and on the mend
Cellulitis is serious.
Grammaretto, should I take that as a compliment, meaning I still look so young? ?
Marydoll of course. How could it be meant any other way??
