Hi Nanderin ?

Hope you’re OK and not worrying too much. I’ve had both of mine with no side effects at all. ... same for DD2.
DH and DGD2 had a slightly sore arm after their first vaccine but no reaction at all with their second.
DD1 is in Canada and just had her first vaccine with no side effects.
Fingers crossed ? you’re as lucky as us.
As absent says better a bit of discomfort than the alternative..
Sending positive thoughts your way.

I've had both my AZ with no problems at all. Happy to go out and about now. When you go to the centre tell them you are anxious they are very happy to give some extra reassurance and support.

Are you in the UK op?
absent - are you in the UK?
Sorry about all of the questions, but I'm getting confused!

Nanderin is there a reason why you haven't had your first vaccine yet?
Is it because you are worried about side effects?
I've got my second one in two weeks, and I'm under 50 (just!)

I haven't been called for mine yet, but will go for it like a shot. I have had many vaccinations as I have travelled widely and there have been one or two – most notably typhoid – that have made me feel really wretched. However, Covid is a truly horrible and quite often fatal disease, especially for those of us getting on in years, so a bit of discomfort or a raised temperature seems a small price to pay. Better than the alternative, I reckon.

We are slow here, aren't we Nanna! I've had one AZ, 2 weeks later flu jab, and 2nd AZ in July. So many deciding not to have any jab which is unfair to the rest of us. I had no side effects from either jab.

Thank you good luck today
I will come back and see how you are.

I was fine after the first az one, just slightly tired but that may have been normal anyway. I am having the flu vaccine this afternoon and the next az in June. Better safe than sorry !

Thank you for saying that I don't like horror stories

It will be ok!

It is not that bad at all

Hello nanderin (and Nadateturbe!)
I worry about everything too. smile

Do you have any other health conditions which you are thinking will make things worse for you?
Is that why you have been putting it off?
Sorry to ask so many questions, but it will help to understand what you are worried about.

I'll be honest, my DH had bad side effects with the first one but that was because he had already had Covid.
He has just had the second and he was fine apart from a headache.

If you are that concerned, in your position I would speak to my GP or a practice nurse.

Nadateturbe is so right; concentrate on the positives!

Hi thank you for your help.

Nanderin I worry about everything. So I was convinced that I would be lucky to survive this vaccination as I have M.E and fibro and am not a good sufferer. I had to keep telling myself the vast majority of people were fine afterwards and that it was better to have it than not to have it. First one I was a bit fluey and in bed for almost two days and I couldn't sleep on the arm for a few nights It went a bit red and swollen. after a week but faded. Second injection. ..nothing at all. This was the AZ vaccine. We waste so much time worrying about things that don't happen. I feel much safer now, although still being careful. Try to concentrate on the positives of having it ?

I'm not worried about actual needle it's after I'm stressing about. Thanks for replying

I've had both of mine and didn't think it was any big deal at all. I do look the other way and count backwards from 100 whenever I get a shot of any kind, though.
