DH was born near St Andrews and went to school there so he couldn't be any other than a Blues fan with the many ups and downs that come with it, more downs than ups.

Good morning everyone, no rain, no grey, just fluffy white clouds and blue sky in Gower today ?

We've just come back from breakfast. My friend rang at around 7:15am asking if we fancied it. Oh yes, please! A proper cooked breakfast for a couple who haven't had a kitchen for three weeks, oh yes definitely ?. She'd even booked, "on the offchance" - well she knew we wouldn't turn it down, a table in a lovely little place on the waterfront with beautiful white tablecloths and pretty cutlery. Oh my, breakfast was good (I really should have taken a picture but I always feel a bit silly about doing that ?), little salmon tarts, poached eggs, followed by, yes followed by, smoked bacon, potato rostis and roasted vine ripe tomatoes ?. A far cry from what we're having for dinner tonight ?. I really couldn't thank her enough it felt like a rescue.

A bit of pottering, much needed gardening and general faffing planned today, oh and a bit of dust removal (there's lots of it). No Grammaretto we haven't got a toilet!! ?. Not upstairs anyway. Fortunately, we have one downstairs

Not as drab and dismal out as it has been but the ground is quite wet, a watery-looking sun is trying its best. Not a bit like summer.

However it's still good to hear that many are out and about, regardless. If you had to rely on the weather you'd never move, so good on you all. I don't envisage going far, not even to the shops as I have everything I need.

The gas-checkers were here about 4pm yesterday to check that everything was in order and they also fitted a carbon-monoxide alarm which was a bonus, so all is safe for another 10 months.

You have a " thing " about trains Urmston, mine's planes. I woke up quite early, for no reason and just lay there quietly, then I heard a plane slowly droning over and sounding on the heavy side so I was telling myself that it was a cargo plane loaded with mushrooms from Ireland, so should I wake again at whatever time it was, I'll look at the clock then I'll know it's a " delivery ". The night-workers. Geek number 2

Sun's out so it calls for some serious housework----in the corners this time because next month an electrician is coming to test every plug and the wiring plus appliances----a 2 hour job so I must make sure that no areas are covered by cobwebs.

Chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow and soak some peas later. Once upon a time I used to go the whole hog for Whit Sunday and have all the family so it used to be a busy time, trifle included of course. Quite a banquet back then. I try and repeat it for myself but on a smaller scale, but with C.pud and not trifle.

A simple and quick cheese and tomato omelette today so that I can get on with whatever I'll not be doing. How has 14 months gone by since I was going to break eggs with a big stick and have achieved so little ?

Anyway, thoughts to our unwell friends and absent ones too.x

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest Lancashire coast. So pleased to see in my diary that I have a bus day trip to the Lake District booked tomorrow. I had forgotten all about it, so good job I checked. That gives me something to look forward to as I wake up these days with a little dark cloud over me, even though things are improving, the inertia through lockdown is proving hard to shake off.
Yesterday was so horrible, wind, rain and cold, I turned the heating on after coming back from shopping. The first supermarket (Co op) I went to was closed as there had been a break in.

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a dampish Carlisle where the sun is trying to come out. I ought to mow lawns but they'll need a lot of sun to dry out. Otherwise, gentle jobs are planned as my back is somewhat fragile, probably aggravated by hauling sacks of compost around earlier in the week.
That IS a posh charity shop baubles, a good job it's not near me as I'm supposed to be getting rid of stuff not buying more. Though it's difficult clearing out bric-a-brac here at the moment, the charities don't want it as I've been told it's not selling. I hope you're doing better.

Greetings from anither grey, ivercast SW Herts, though at least the wind has dropped. G'maFrench your cat household sounds like ours, surely five year olds should have given up scaling the curtains?!! We are off tomorrow to a hotel just outside Gloucester, and I can only pray that they will behave for our rather nervous cat sitter. I had a text from her today asking where the first aid kit was kept!

Our lovely neighbours came over with their delightful little daughter to pull out the defunct fridge freezer and disconnect its water supply. Just hope the new one arrives today in time to settle and then get the water connected again before we leave tomorrow. I don't want Mrs Elastoplast having to ferret around in the garage fridge every time she needs milk for her tea!

We had a wonderful meal out with friends yesterday. They were too nervous for a quick hug, even outside, but the new Italian restaurant did us proud, a great touch of normality. Now I just need someone to invite me to one of these mass weddings Boris has just authorised for after June 21st! ?

Day began with having to change DH’s bedding (third time in less than a week) and has not improved. I am avoiding facing real life by being on here, but will have to gather up my courage and get on with it. Dry this morning after virtually continuous rain yesterday but doubt it will be reliable enough to dry all the unnecessary laundry.

Nothing planned apart from a telephone conversation with DD about her god mother, my oldest friend, who has an incurable degenerative illness and needs to be in a nursing home but refuses. She has now been told by her second care agency that they cannot continue to support her (at enormous cost, I might say) and she has now less than four weeks to find a solution. Given how awful she has been to some of her carers (a combination of her illness and a very prickly personality) this is going to be very difficult. Some hard conversations likely today, I think.

Good morning all from north Surrey, very grey and overcast with a few spit spots of rain in the air.
Such a lot of busy GMs this morning. It is so good to hear of family meet ups, shopping trips and meals out. I so hope this normality will stay.
Despite a rushing about day yesterday, which included half hour to get ready for our meal out, I was happy with wearing a dress and makeup and heels. Despite a group of young men who were rather too merry and noisy we enjoyed our meal and the lovely waitress who had to suffer one of my “really” looks did get rid of them pretty quickly.
Been out for a lovely long walk with Freddie this morning and he is now fast asleep at my feet.
DS is coming later to have company watching his team in the football playoffs. Double treat as I get to see him and he is bringing the DGDs (I suspect more so that I can entertain them whilst he watches the footie). DH has bacon and egg baguettes planned for lunch
In the meantime I have ironing to do and granola to make.

Good morning from Dirham. Rain earlier but it’s a bit brighter now with a couple of small patches of blue. DD1 has arranged a small baby shower in my garden this afternoon for DD2 - apparently a teepee is on it’s way! Yikes! Plenty of fizz, alcoholic and non here, so we’ll just have to soldier on despite the weather.

Sar53 was Bluewater busy? We had to go to Lakeside yesterday to get some bits and bobs from the Disney Store for part of GD’s birthday gift, it was deserted!

Good morning Mick and all from a darkening S Hants, it just doesn’t stop. I didn’t get up until half an hour ago, a long sleep. Another weekend only paper reader here, at some point today the plants in my car must be moved to the garden, the strong winds have now passed. Txt from GP yesterday after Thursdays blood test, my sodium is down, more bloods, urine and face to face appointment booked.
You’re a busy lot today! Football visits in various ways, meals inside and out, family reunions, it’s magical, what a difference in a few weeks. That charity shop looks like an antique fair, very flash! I’ll leave you with a picture of DD’s hair, Mum treated her yesterday!

Good Morning everyone from a warm and sunny S of France. Mid-evening yesterday the wind got up and threw around lots of small things in the garden, shook the shutters, moaned down the chimney but when I went out last thing with the dogs for a moon gaze and to lock up, all was totally still. Weird!

This will be a brief few lines : my breakfast (in bed) arrived with main dog supervising. She makes a fuss then goes outside, sometimes choosing to stand at my terrace doors asking me to get up - now, please - to let her in. Smaller dog won’t get out of bed for less than £10,000 - or a piece of toast! My smallest cat brought a deceased baby sparrow to the doorstep for us yesterday. She sat slightly apart from this family gift - so pleased with herself. My cats truly don’t hunt, so this is a worrying trend for one who’s 12 years old.

Today, my DH reports, she went out and brought back another bird. We are distinctly unimpressed! In addition she sneaked in here with DH, waited for him to walk away and she’s now sitting across my lap, batting my gold bangle every time time I press this keyboard. Her purring is enough to bring on a headache (mine) and now her arch enemy (our other cat) has escaped into our night side of the house and is standing in the bedroom doorway yelling for attention. Thank you so much DH for a cunning plan to get me out of bed. It’s worked. That older 15 year old cat has just hurtled past at speed - real speed - which shows her great excitement at having used her litter tray. Since the litter tray is at least 40 metres away from me, by the time she’s whizzed past this door she’s got up enough paw spin to cancel any necessary braking and has collided with the rug in the study. I can hear the familiar sliding sound!

That’s it.....I’m out of bed in this madhouse! Of course, they’ll all go into a deep sleep as soon as Mummy’s on the move!

Today I am going to finish planting my summer pots.
I took DGS to the Etihad a couple of years ago. He got to sit in the manager’s seat beside the pitch and in the changing room too. No doubt we will have to go again to see this year’s trophy haul.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s a gloomy start to the South Yorkshire day, but DRY (for now)! It never stopped bucketing down yesterday. I rang Arks R Us, but their lines were busy......
We are going over to DD’s today to see their new wood fired pizza oven in action and taste the results. I’m not a huge fan of pizza, but never pass up a chance to spend time with the family these days., whatever is on the menu!
