Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking cloudy outside here but its dry at the moment here in Brackley .
Yesterdays trip out went OK , with usual routine , but returning to no cycling on TV.
Today ,a small shop , followed my cycling on Eurosport.
Hoping that its a trouble free race stage.
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is wet. Too wet to mow the grass which is turning into a meadow. Monty Don would be impressed but I don't think the postie will want wet feet.
Maybe this is the year when I build or have a path built across the lawn to the back door where the letter box is.

Sorry to hear you have been poorly Marydoll
Happy Birthday Grandmajean

When my in-laws had a cottage Grandmafrench, we took full advantage of their generosity and regularly stayed when they weren't there and invited my extended family grin
We were mortified when they sold the place. No more free holidays.

Have as best a day as you can everyone.

Good morning everyone. Drizzling here in the Scottish Borders. Felt rather grim yesterday but have bounced back. Just made a curry for tea and on my second load of washing shortly. Will tackle bathroom. Reading and radio for me. I am grateful not to have to do anything more though would love to. Happy birthday grandmajean and a happy as possible day to those who are toiling today.

Beautiful morning so am planning to spend some time in my very weedy borders once I have got DH up and ready to face the day. Nothing else in view other than planning meals for the weekend when we have visits from both AC and the GC including everyone for lunch on Monday provided it is fine. It’s so long since I did more than feed the two of us that I am in a state of near panic at the thought so must take myself firmly in hand.

Sorry that Marydoll is still feeling rotten and hope she begins to feel better soon, and that Auntie Flo and Cherry also have a good day. Everything feels more positive with a little sunshine.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 26-May-21 09:09:33

Marydoll take care and rest, looking forward to a novella from you when you are ready.

Happy Birthday grandmajean ??

Urmstongran Wed 26-May-21 09:06:13

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s not raining now but we’ve had heavy rain during the night. I’ve slept in this morning. Lovely when that happens. Weird dreams though.

Off to Simply Food picking up my stepfather on the way. And a hospital ENT doctor is ringing me this afternoon. I’ve been on the waiting list for an appointment since February and this is some kind of triage system.

Ooh a second cuppa has just been brought in to me. I’m spoiled. I shall make Burford Brown boiled eggs and crumpets fr us once I’ve drunk it. In the meantime I’m going to read all your posts.

Hope Wednesday is good to us all. Stay cautious. x

Good morning from Shropshire.

We had a lovely day with our DGS yesterday. We had planned a meal out together when DD and SIL got home from work but the pub had lost our booking so it was fish and chips instead. We have rebooked for next time we look after DGS??

We have also booked a weekend away for the end of next month and another few days away in August?better dust off the suitcases!

Cherry, I hope that you have had a peaceful night and that both you and Mary feel better after a few days of rest and recuperation?

Thinking of all going through sad times?

Have a good day all??

Good Morning everyone.

Hoping today is a better one for everyone and troubles and worries, pain and discomfort has faded a little after rest and a good night’s sleep. Hope too that the weather improves and you can all lift your faces to the sun - at least for some of today ?
I always feel it’s difficult to re-visit a much-loved home once you’ve sold it. . Always too much dramatic change or, worse, neglect (especially for gardens). Sad to see but maybe it takes away any regrets because you had it, loved it, cared for it but now you just have those memories. Once it features in someone else’s life I suppose it’s simply theirs to do whatever they like with! (However it brings on our nervous tics!)

If your first thought is you really don’t want to spend a week hosting your nephew & co., and being a tour guide, gingster then I’d hold that thought. Can’t think of anyone not feeling pleased to be able to use another’s holiday home without them being there. How kind are you! And how nice they feel able to ask. We’ve all shared some pretty hard times over more than a year, so why not tell them straight that you really don’t want to commit to anything at present - you want freedom to come and go wherever and make plans just for yourselves when the mood takes, but if they’d like to borrow the cottage for a week, you’re happy with that. They can perhaps hire a car and be free to travel around. They get their holiday in your lovely home by the sea and you won’t feel resentful that your time is being spent doing anything you’re not truly excited about.

Today I shall iron, take some pittosporum cuttings, make spicy fish cakes for lunch with a salad and take my neglected little car out for a spin this afternoon. We may go to the beach which will hopefully involve ice cream and the dogs will enjoy a romp by the water before their summer ban starts on 1st June until 1st October!

Everyone unwell, sending thoughts and wishing hard for you today and always.

Take care all. Hugs from ?? ????‍♀️

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. Waiting for a delivery of my new phone, very excited, but will have to wait till I go to DD's for them to set it up for me.

Well yesterday I joined my first health walk since pre Covid days! My friend picked me up, and it was so nice to see familiar faces. I tired quite quickly and got out of breath, but managed the 45 minutes. Afterwards we went to a local cafe and sat out with a coffee. Will be trying another walk this afternoon.

My new phone has arrived even as I write this!

Take care everyone.

Morning all from the Black country. Weather not made its mind up yet but can see blue sky in the distance.
Nothing planned today tend to take each day as it comes. Might go for a walk round the arboretum haven't done that in a while.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from Glasgow.

I haven't been doing too well this week and not felt up to posting. Thank you to those who have missed me. ?.
Hopefully by the end of the week, I will pick up and be back with my latest novella. Love to my struggling friends on here.

Good morning from a grey and rainy NE.
DH has to be at the hospital at nine for his chemotherapy, BIL is taking him.
I will use the time to strip the bed and clean the bedroom and bathroom.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day.

Good morning from Scarborough where it’s raining. Again. We got soaked walking into Scarborough yesterday but then the sun came out and dried us before we got into the town. It was quite busy and the bus back was heaving. I thought alternate seats were cordoned off but no.
It’s supposed to dry up about lunchtime and our original plan was to get the bus into Bridlington. However after yesterday’s experience we have decided to drive and go to Whitby instead. Maybe risk the bus tomorrow for a shorter journey.
Thinking of all with difficulties and hoping Marydoll is up to posting.
Stay safe everyone and take care ???

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where we have cloud cover yet again.

I had a bit of a scare yesterday when I went to collect the little pooch from the groomer. She was sporting a lovely haircut and smelled of blueberries but as usual was super excited to see me and was bouncing around even when we got out into the street. We were waiting to cross the road when I realised her lead felt very light. Because she had been divested of so much hair she managed to slip her collar and was running into the traffic, several kind people tried to catch her but she was so excited she just kept dodging them. After what seemed like an age but was probably only a minute or so she came back to me and wrapped her front paws around my leg. I carried her back to the car but it was a while till I stopped trembling. What a fright the little horror gave me.

Today is supermarket delivery day and then as well as cooking for today I’ll make chilli for tomorrow, enough for us and extra for taking to DS to save them cooking.

Thinking of absent regular posters, there seems to be a few, and wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Grannyme6 Wed 26-May-21 08:15:09

Morning all. Dry but overcast here in the east. Pilates online this morning. Nothing else planned as yet except later on I’ll deliver a fruit loaf to a friend who’s had an operation on her arm and is in plaster. My good wishes to all.

ginny Wed 26-May-21 08:14:19

Good Morning. Looking dull outside at the moment.

Well, I still didn’t get to the nursery for plants, maybe today

Have some coffee morning invitations to deliver so will include that in a walk.

Otherwise will see how things pan out.

Hope you all find a ?today.

Good morning everyone from an overcast, showery , and mild start to the day on the east coast of Fife. I’m still in my cosy bed until my lovely carer comes in around 8.30. I’m rooting for a warm shower and hair wash today.

Yesterday I felt so strong and happy after getting compliments from those around me on how well I’m doing by sitting up longer in the day therefore strengthening my abs. It’s a great feeling not feeling so tired. Stroke fatigue which is difficult to describe can play with my mental health.

I say onwards and upwards I’ve a busy day ahead my lovely hardworking cleaner comes in today and I’m having my hallway measured up for a new carpet I’m sure my ds wee pooch had an accident on the carpet but she denies the stain belongs to the pooch saying it’s from something else my dh denies it was himwinkit’s a mystery never to be solved.

Have a good day everyone think of the sunshine sunshine still to come and these springtime garden ?

Nannytopsy Wed 26-May-21 08:10:18

Good morning Mick and all his followers from a sunny Norfolk. I do hope it stays like this! Pleased with our little hotel except that the heating has been working overtime which made sleep difficult. We were greeted by a cuckoo when we arrived - a lovely start.
Didn’t see yesterday’s thread - I’ll catch up later.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

hollysteers Wed 26-May-21 07:58:43

Good morning Mick and all from a now dull northwest Lancashire coast, the sun has gone in. I’m off to North Wales in a mo, just a day trip and have to take my sore twisted knee with me, Bother! It happened two days ago, I have a support on it and horror of horrors, I am taking a stick!
Life is suddenly busier, art classes resuming etc and it’s strange making more of an effort after such long periods of hermit life.
Hope you are ok auntieflo cherry marydoll and anyone with troubles and worries of any kind.

Gingster Wed 26-May-21 07:56:16

Good morning all. The forecast is NO RAIN! I’ll believe that when I see it!

Yesterday we had a lovely woodland walk with our old neighbour/friend, then back to look round her huge beautiful garden , followed by coffee and sandwiches. We used to live next door, so had a peer through the hedges at our old garden and house. I must say it was looking a bit neglected ! ?

I had a phone call from my nephews wife yesterday. She is Czech and is a bit tricky to understand over the phone. After a lengthy chat, she asked if they could have a week at our cottage by the sea. I love them dearly but don’t really want to spend a week with them there. I will suggest they go on their own but the problem is they don’t have a car.(they live in London , so have no need of one) . You really do need a car to get there and travel around. No buses , trains etc. . I think they expect us to be there , to act as a taxi service. ?. Oh dear! I’m not sure what to say.

DD will be popping in for a coffee after dropping Littlest GD off at school. We will catch up on all the family gossip. ??.

Wishing you all a pleasant day ?

Grandmabatty Wed 26-May-21 07:56:13

Good morning all. It's damp in Polmont, quelle surprise. Today I will visit mum then my friend for a chat. I need to nip to the supermarket for a bottle of something alcoholic for her partner as it's his birthday today and he is a thoroughly nice man. DD is nipping in this afternoon as she has a holiday day booked. There may be a WhatsApp chat too at some point. Take care all.
