puzzler61 my toe appears to be better but my left thumb is in agony. I think it's probably arthritis so I will have to live with it. BladeAnnie take care. We will miss you. ?
Backseat Driver, Former PM Tony Blair Reckons The Triple-Lock...
I found the key that soop left.
I must complain that getting down to retrieve keys then getting up again is very tricky! Please leave them in a more accessible place in future.
Anyway here’s a bottle of Dom Perignon and a large iced bowl of caviar to open the kitchen!
( we’re going posh this time!

BladeAnnie?
Thank you Soop I spoke to her this morning and she is in bits!!She will have a void in her life for a while as everyday she was at the stables and riding at weekends. It will take time and lots of hugs.
It’s quite overcast today. We had a drive along the coast and now doing a bbq. It’s very busy here we tried to get lunch but all places fully booked.Your lunch sounded wonderful Grandmafrench glad you enjoyed it.
That’s such positive news Muse very pleased for you.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
I'm just popping in to say hello lovely people and I'm going to take a little time away from the kitchen. No one has upset me or anything like that but I've got a bit of stress and worry going on atm. Mr BA, Duncan and my dear friend Puzzler are helping me get my head around things, i don't want to bring any more sadness to the kitchen ?. Sending love and hugs to all my kitchen friends and hopefully see you again soon ?
Ooh that was a long post! To everyone else who visits the kitchen - I hope you have found some joy in your Day. ?
Good afternoon soop and all kitchen peeps. I have watched the Queen’s Tennis final, and DH is now about to watch the Euro football match.
A good weekend for sports lovers as there is a Grand Prix too.
Charleygirl are your laundry rates reasonable?
I could gather a bundle together and I don’t mind if you only fold it, I wouldn’t want you to exert yourself ironing it all. I iron as little as possible, good folding is all that is needed with most modern easycare fabrics I find.
Yiayia I hope your DD is coming to terms with her grief today. Such sadness. When we love our animals their departure leaves us bereft.
Blossoming I hope your energy levels are returning today after all the adrenalin used up in last couple of days.
Grandmabatty what colour is your bashed toe today? Are you walking on it ok?
And I hope Grandmafrench is not having such a humidity-soaked day today, and certainly no more insect bites.
I think it may be Urmston ‘s birthday today??
If it is and if you are reading “Happy Birthday To You” ? ? ? ?
The painting is nearing the finishing post. It will be backed and mounted tomorrow. I shall then share a photo with you. It has been very challenging.
An entertaining final at Queens. Both contestants played like champs. The best man won.
Until we meet up again tomorrow, my very best wishes to every one of you special peoples.

Susan I am convinced I take in washing but nobody pays me for the privilege. There is only me and frequently my machine is on x3 a day. It was worse when Tara was here and I had cat hairs around.
It is not the warmest day here but I have seen little evidence of the sun- apparently it is returning next week. Tomorrow is the longest day and then it is downhill from there.
TOYA
Thank you for your lovely posts re FIL.His spirit is still strong but his flesh is very weak?We spent a lovely couple of hours with him yesterday and are home again after a flying visit to DH’s niece and a very peaceful drive home over the Brecon Beacons.
So glad that all is well blossoming and things are improving for your son muse.
What a lovely start to the day soop having a long chat with your son☺️Hope the painting goes well?????I’m sure when it’s finished it will be just right. The pictures you painted for us of Harry are perfect, you captured the essence of him so well.Only the other day DD said how much she loves the paintings and how much like him they are??
Am going to tackle the mountain of laundry. We were only away for two days and there are only the two of us but there is a huge pile to tackle?
TOYA
Yiay My heart goes out to your daughter-in-law. She will be heartbroken.
A positively encouraging start to our Sunday kitchen.
Uplifting news from muse and Blossoming.
Eldest son has been on the phone for a very long, welcome chat.
I have a painting to deal with. PLEASE may I not mess up and ruin this third attempt. I am fast running low on energy.
Great news Blossoming.
Blossoming that does sound like good news.
I'm back home from babysitting. Clearly dd and sil don't eat out often these days! The curry place are being very efficient and meals are whipped out almost as soon as you order, apparently. Dd is suffering from heart burn so I left them to it. Not a peep out of the boy wonder. Grandmafrench a pirate's eye patch could look fetching. Yiayia what sad news about your dd's horse. I'm relaxing now and don't have to get up early so no doubt I'll wake at five. Take care kitcheners.
Good evening all. Soop you were right, the procedure was not as bad this time. It was very painful last time due to the huge tumour that has since been removed. The lovely dr. and nurses were very considerate and looked after me well. My surgery has healed beautifully, no scarring or lesions and best of all no sign of any new cancer developing. She removed a small polyp and said it isn’t cancer, but it will be sent to the lab as a matter of routine. I should hear from my surgeon, the wonderful Mr. P., in a few weeks.
Thank you all so much for your support, it has helped me so much.
Now I’m off to get some much needed sleep, good night all.
brook me too. Cheers ?
Evening all (pinched your catch phrase Urms. You can have it back when you post again?)
Muse such good news about your son and DGD. You must be relieved. Have a good relax now.
blossoming glad your home now. Hope things went ok.
soop Hope you and MrSoop are enjoying the weekend
TOYA?
Really lovely beach photos Yia I’ve been to Hayle beach a few times in the past and really liked it. Sorry to hear about your DiL horse, she must be heartbroken
Hope your toe feels better soon grandmabatty and hope the new neighbours turn out to be ok for you .
Good news about your son muse I hope he settles into his new job soon whichever one it is
It was a brief message from me earlier as DD1 was just serving up a yummy chicken curry with all the extras with it so I’m feeling a bit full
Today we’ve been to Duxford as they had an air show with aerial displays using large model aircraft which the DGS loved watching!
Just settling down now with a generous G&T, enjoy your evening everyone
Not impressed by the toe, grandmaB but then neither are you, I should imagine. All those tiny bones in our feet and then putting our weight on them, is not the best plan when you've bashed one. Do you use an Arnica spray? We have them here in aerosols which spray freezing cold foaming Arnica onto bumps and bruises etc., Great if you do something like a toe bash or bump your shins or elbows. Hope it gets better soon.
Hope you're not feeling wrecked, muse. That seems like a load of activity for one day - and I bet you don't go to bed early. Mr M sounds like he could do with a rest - or maybe half a dozen strong men assisting! We know you want it done but he does sound like he's unstoppable. So pleased to hear about your little GD. Less for you to worry about. As far as your Son is concerned, it's marvellous news. Obviously leaving a job that was just too stressful may turn out to have been a very smart move. Any chance that your DD and GD will turn up in overalls and boots, all ready for the construction work? No? Thought not. Perfect excuse for you to be side-tracked into something a bit more genteel, then. Think of those poor toes!
We've had a day today when the air felt like a Sauna. Not my favourite! A few days ago, I managed to get some face cream in my eyes. Face cream mixed with perspiration is fatal for me. It could have been a coincidence, since I have all sorts of allergies anyway at this time of year, but my eyes are really playing up and are all bleary. I have self-diagnosed Blepharitis.(Or, it could be any number of things but have had it before. Of course, I've not got around to speaking to the Doctor and she doesn't work today and so I rootled through our "Medical Drawer", searched through all our old prescriptions, found one for almost this time last year for some cream which worked wonders for the same symptoms. My Scooter man made his second trip into the village when the Pharmacy reopened at 3.30 and after some rigorous questioning !!!!! the Pharmacist very kindly produced the required two boxes for a week's treatment! He said (about 3 times, or so my DH said) "I'm afraid you'll have to pay for this as it's last year's prescription!". DH told him that was perfectly acceptable. I am now the proud owner of some prescription medication and for which I will not be able to ask the Government for a part refund of the cost. (Just under £5). So, do hope they'll be pleased and grateful. Wonderful service.
Have you been super-slumped on that new squishy furniture, Jax? It looks very comfortable and just right for sleeping through football matches that don't require much attention. I'm not a footie person and even less so if it's a slow or frustrating match. Same with Rugby. I expect there are lots of very disappointed fans around this weekend. I find BBQ's very tiring....D'you think you'll need to buy a stylish hat any time soon then?
Sounds like you've got the artist back on your shoulder, soop - and holding your brush. Are you doing something for Hellogirl or have I lost the plot?
Knockout Cornish views, yiayia. Wanted to say how really sad I am for your DD. Horses are beautiful and when you've owned one for a really long time it's obviously like losing a member of the family. She'll know what a wonderful life her horse has had, though - and when she's able to come to terms with the loss, she'll have the memories. All those experiences, happiness shared and good times to keep in her heart.
Everyone I've missed, everyone not here, everyone who needs a hug or a kind word, please help yourselves.
Take care. x
Thank you JaxJacky and Muse for the toe sympathy. It's slightly swollen now but I'm quite sure it isn't broken. I have to be careful with my feet as I'm diabetic. I'm at dd's house babysitting. So far, dgs is sleeping. Soop I would be delighted to have you both as next door neighbours. I don't mind swearing! Oh well, ce sera, sera. Have a good evening all.
Such good news that you’re home and settled blossoming I hope you’re enjoying the evening
I’ve had a lovely day and will pop back later
Very busy day but did get a lie in.
Had a long call from lovely son this lunch time. Red letter day. I didn't want him to stop talking. Love the sound of his voice.
Quick recap: Pressure from company he worked for led to ill health and stress. Left. No work/income for 2 months. Then offered two jobs. Took one (highest salary) but he did like the sound of the other job as well, at the time.
Yesterday - he was offered the other job again. They want him to reconsider their offer as they need his skill set. They've upped the salary (a lot). He has till Monday morning to decide.
Also lots of positive news about his daughter. More heart tests have confirmed what the consultant said. No operation needed. `Her heart could grow to become its normal shape (One side is much smaller than it should be for her age) and is tilted.
Struggling to get E45 cream on the sore patch on Mya's ear. Got there but ended up with more on me. Less scratching today though.
MrM has decided to take the first tank out of the hole, get the floor level and put dry mix down. It doesn't matter then if it rains. Better get him a large whisky mac ready. He looks shattered.
Jax. Decided to have a go at growing some shiitaki and oyster mushrooms. Order on its way.
Grandmabatty + Jax. My feet are a mess. I put it down to the length of my toes. I hate them. Two broken ones. One has healed leaving a huge hump in the middle and the other is now 2/3rds the length it was. Would you like a photo? ? Oh, I didn't mention my big toes ?
I nearly didn't post tonight after reading what I put on the morning thread. So many muddles and errors. I will preview this one. I am drinking a G+T though.
Hello everyone! DGC have gone (phew!) and we watched the rugby semi finals, one before they went. Also had a snooze. They were very exciting, high scoring games, unlike last night’s football!
We did some gardening with the smalls and sent them home with a big bag of gone to seed parsley for the chickens.
Blossoming - glad you are home safely and soop I hope the portrait is still going well.
TOYA. Off to collect our Chinese takeaway soon. Sleep well tonight everyone.
Thanks muse she is heartbroken the worse part is having him shot must be terrible!! The last time I was here in Hayle was late 60s I was about 17 and had a great time??
Good early evening all. So pleased you’re sounding chirpy Blossoming, been thinking of you. Grandmabatty I stubbed my toe eight days ago, it still ‘twinges’ ageing has a lot to answer for, hope yours improves soon.
Yia stunning pictures of a gorgeous beach.
We’ve had a lovely bbq with son, daughter and two GC’s, they arrived about half one and left at five, my son has just txt thanks and that this is the girl he will marry, we hope so, but will see, exciting! Just started raining and it was a bit nippy outside earlier, v different from last weekend.
This entertaining lark takes it out of you! A quiet evening in store for us, as I hope it is for you lot, xx
