Why should there be a public announcement in the US, from either the Queen or Prince Charles. It is usual for a notice of birth etc, to be put on the Palace gates, which was done in this case

Lucca, personally I couldn’t care less about either of them. I don’t know them and it isn’t my business anyway, but for some, commenting is entertainment. The only difference is that commenting about a dead person or a living person only affects the living.

When Diana was alive I thought she was a silly girl (sorry, I know that's not a popular opinion. )

I think we are looking at an out of date event. Diane was innocent in my opinion because of her age. Naive. Used.
Her family had the attitude 'don't mess it up'.
They all treated her like a silly little girl. She grew up under the scrutiny of the world. And became a stronger woman.
I am going to Althorpe this week to pay my respects. But we do visit stately homes regularly and like a grave to visit - standing at Winston Churchill's was very humbling. I have read a couple of Earl Spencer's books and enjoyed them.
We went to Buckingham Palace but found the gardens a bit scruffy!
I found the plaques on the church at Sandringham which Edward v11 (i daren't say Bertie having never met him) very moving especially the one for Leopold.
My husband can tell the difference between all the kings now which i am amazed at - i think he has been brainwashed!

Diana was in the papers and the news all the time and according to her bodyguards book she courted it. If there was something bad being reported about her she rushed to a HIV clinic so she wouldnt be seen in a bad light. She was very cleaver to fool so many people.

I was working for an HIV charity at the time, I cant begin to describe the difference it made to people who were HIV + , I couldnt care less her reasons for doing it. It helped people who were on the whole were being treated appallingly.
