Say or think what you like but you cannot ignore our Queen sitting celebrating her official birthday watching 'Trooping the Colour' parade. Looking absolutely wonderful having just lost her devoted husband, attended the G7 gathering and with everything else she has had to endure very recently with all the upheaval of family relationships. She carries it off so well. Now I know not everyone will agree with my sentiments but please credit where credit is due - surely!

Good old British stiff upper lip. Congratulations Mam.

JenniferEccles Sat 12-Jun-21 14:13:50

I agree Berylsgranny in fact I said much the same to my husband today.

I know she has had a lifetime to perfect it but her smile always looks completely genuine doesn’t it?

Sparklefizz Sat 12-Jun-21 14:14:21

Absolutely agree with you. She is a one-off.

Berylsgranny Sat 12-Jun-21 14:49:47

She genuinely looked happy today I have to say, forget all your troubles and all that. smile

Lin52 Sat 12-Jun-21 15:15:37

Was wonderful to see, her smile lights up her whole face. She must be hurting dreadfully inside, but you wouldn’t know it. Gracious and duty first always,
Never apologise Berylsgranny for what you say, if people don’t like it they can scroll past.

I think it was reported that this afternoon the Biden’s are to have tea with the Queen.

Nannagarra Sat 12-Jun-21 15:54:20

Love her beautiful smile and the sense of humour she displayed when the G7 photo was being taken.

Mattsmum2 Sat 12-Jun-21 16:06:22

Yes she looked stunning and great to see her smile and tap her foot in time with the music .

Gwyneth Sat 12-Jun-21 16:10:30

I think the Queen is an amazing woman definitely a one off.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 12-Jun-21 16:16:24

I think she’s incredible, after losing her husband so recently, she’s out there smiling and chatting to people she doesn’t know and probably won’t see again.(apart from BJ of course) She looks as though she was enjoying herself.

I know that I wouldn’t want to do it.

As another poster has said Duty first and foremost.

She did look very well and happy to be there, the Duke of Kent looked very unsteady walking to the dais behind her though I was fearful he would stumble, I believe he is 85.

Loved HM outfit. Beautiful. She is one exceptional lady. Do agree the D of K was decidedly wobbly and not at all smart, poor man.

sodapop Sat 12-Jun-21 17:09:19

The Queen did look genuinely happy, loved her outfit. There will not be another of her ilk I'm afraid.

Grandma70s Sat 12-Jun-21 17:20:29

She wore that outfit for something else recently, I forget what. Very pretty.

Calendargirl Sat 12-Jun-21 18:12:53

Yes Grandma70’s I recognised that outfit but also can’t remember on what occasion she wore it previously.

I think pastel colours look lovely on her.

Was it Beatrice or Eugenie’s wedding maybe?

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 12-Jun-21 18:17:57

HM seems to have lost some weight.

clever to have his walking stick disguised as a sword

Niobe Sat 12-Jun-21 18:22:35

Yes, I thought that she looked slimmer. Don’t want to say ‘frailer’.

Calendargirl Sat 12-Jun-21 18:36:56

Oh, seems she wore the same outfit at this year’s State Opening Of Parliament.

Mollygo Sat 12-Jun-21 19:02:35

Thought she looked lovely. She really is an exceptional lady.

dragonfly46 Sat 12-Jun-21 19:10:55

She is amazing.

Sarnia Sat 12-Jun-21 19:14:49

It wouldn't occur to her to do anything else.

Anniebach Sat 12-Jun-21 19:20:50

She has always been the same , even when facing brutal criticism, remarkable lady

LauraNorder Sat 12-Jun-21 19:26:53

I think you’ve nailed it Anniebach she is indeed a remarkable woman.
