Are there any famous or well known people you just dislike for no rational reason ?
Nigel Farage is one for me
Simon Cowell another. Never met either of them and probably never will but even before I knew what they were known for, something made me dislike them.

Naga Munchetty
Alex Jones

Claudia Winkelman and her ridiculous fringe.
Stacey Dooley who seem to appear from nowhere, and is now being overused,
Both of them are smug.

Noel Fitzpatrick, the super vet. Not sure why. There's something about him I can't take to.

Fiona Bruce, all that blinking hand waving.
Greg Wallace too shouty.
Beth Rigby.

Ha,ha,ha.......in hysterics!!

Calendargirl Fri 25-Jun-21 14:41:51

I don’t know who Mr Tumble is!

dolphindaisy Fri 25-Jun-21 14:53:42

Mine seem to be newsreaders and presenters:

Naga Munchetti
Huw Edwards
Davina McCall
Amanda Holden
Rylan Clarke-Neale
Gemma Collins

As a child both Charlie Drake and Hughie Green gave me the creeps.

I once met Si King (Hairy Biker) and he immediately cracked a cruel joke about my weight so a genuine dislike in his case.

Justin Fletcher MBE presents nationwide children's shows in theatres and on TV. He plays a host of characters in his programmes and shows, one of them being Mr. Tumble. Every one to their own opinion but he has come in for some quite pointed innuendo on here with one comparing him to Jimmy Saville! Have these remarks been made because he works closely with children, so it stands to reason that he must be a creep? We know Saville's history but as there is nothing to tar Justin Fletcher (aka Mt. Tumble) with the same brush, it is a nasty suggestion to make against him.

Carol Vorderman, Naga Munchetty, Nicola Sturgeon, Prince Andrew and Harry and Meghan. Although I don't count my reasons as irrational.

Alegrias1 Fri 25-Jun-21 14:59:39

So a thread aimed at letting people say who they dislike for no reason at all has resulted in people casting unfounded assertions on a children's entertainer? Who'd a thunk it?

Thank you for pointing that out Sarnia

Anneliese Dodds as soon as she appears on TV, I have to switch off.

I met Simon Cowell once when my granddaughter made a wish to meet Sharon Osborne. He was very nice, especially to my granddaughter and asked her to sing. She was only 8 and when she sang Bohemian Rapsody instead of a nursery rhyme or a children's sing he told her to come back and see him when she was 16. His horridness on TV is just an act mostbof the time but he is a very shrude business man.

It’s difficult to work out if I felt instant loathing for some people or if it grew on me. I can’t imagine never feeling physically loathed by Farage even before his political beliefs became more and more abhorrent to me. I instantly disliked Claudia Winkleman because she took over the cinema review programme on BBC and I didn’t feel that she knew her subject matter very well. But then warmed to her after her daughter had that awful accident. I couldn’t dislike a fellow mother that was going through something so awful. My ex, albeit not really being homophobic, literally couldn’t stay in the room if Julian Clary (who I love) came on the tv.

It was Mr Tumble as a character that my grandson didn’t like. Similar to some people finding clowns creepy I suppose. No problem with the person portraying him.

Shirley Bassey!

Pudding123 Fri 25-Jun-21 15:29:12

Naga Munchetti so rude and smug with it
Anneliese Dodds just awful
Robert Peston why does it take him so long to oh a sentence together?
Keith lemon so crude..I used to like Through the keyhole but as soon as he comes on I have to turn off he is so crude I really couldn't believe what he was saying.,why is he still on TV.
Johnathon Ross likewise .
Ann Robinson (smug full of her own importance)

Nannan2 Fri 25-Jun-21 15:39:40

I always fancied my chances on the 'millionare' show, except for Chris Tarrant- then they replaced him with Clarkson. So no chance!

Nannan2 Fri 25-Jun-21 15:42:17

Can't stand either of them.Oh and for the ladies- Claudia Winkleman.(& yes i do think it was her husband who said that on the shampoo advert!)

granjan Fri 25-Jun-21 15:50:31

Top of my list, Dominic Cummings - an instant dislike, followed by Jamie Oliver (always looks smug) and as of today, Matt Hancock just seeing his photo makes me dislike him, I have felt a bit sorry for him in the past - I know! Please don’t shout at me!!!

Elvis58 Fri 25-Jun-21 16:01:56

Too many to mention but the stand out two are Laura Kuenssberg and Naga Muchetty.Cannot stand either of them both think they are cleverer than the audience and come across as smug and throughly unpleasent.

Juliet27 Fri 25-Jun-21 16:03:53

Ed Sheeran

EEJit Fri 25-Jun-21 16:06:48

Oh so many.

I'll start with:-
Jonathan Ross
Clive Anderson
Rylan Clarke-Neal
Simon Cowell
David Dickenson

That'll do for starters.

mrswoo Fri 25-Jun-21 16:06:56

John Humphries! Unfortunately he was sitting the other side of a desk from me in my office. He was off-hand, pompous, patronising and verging on rudeness not just to myself but to his then partner. I was really relieved for her when I read that they were no longer together. A really unpleasant man.
