Good Morning Everyone,
I have woken up to a wet morning here in Brackley this morning.
My day will be a small early shop , followed by a coffee etc, before settling down to watch the start of todays stage of the TdF which climbs Mont Ventoux twice , this is the climb which the late Tommy Simpson died on ,as there is memorial stone so far up .
Take Care,
Mick

Gwen, I think your DH and I would get on well. ( Apart from the not listening) When I was teaching and IT Co-ordinator, I had boxes and boxes of cables and bits and bobs stashed away. The techies used to come from near and far to raid my stash. Saved a fortune! grin

My daughter bought me a No fog cloth from Boots, it was so useful I bought one for DH yesterday, when I picked up my prescriptions.

Good Morning from a dry, but overcast Cambs., A wet night & more showers forecast for today.

My condolences to Scentia & to Grannygravy, we've had quite a few sad days on GN lately.
Also several of us have been feeling low, it's been a tough 16 months for us.
I think of you all, especially those with extra worries.
Take Care Marydoll & Auntieflo. we love to hear from you.
(sorry, sometimes I do get names muddled or wrong, or forget!)

Warm wishes to you all, flowers

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lueneburg. My condolences to Scentia and grannyGrav. I am having an easy day today - Bridge Club this afternoon and football later. I am routing for England, I love the singing of the supporters. Marydoll thanks for your funny, entertaining and upbeat posts. They give such pleasure the same goes for grandmafrench and all of you. I am missing quite a few posters. I don`t always post but I always read. Have a pleasant day all.

Good Morning Mick and all Morningsters. I see a little sun outside. I can turn the lights off now.

I've had my note book handy and made lots of notes. So glad others do this too. I suppose there was a day I had an excellent memory.

We had a visitor last night. He pinched our bedroom annexe. Work colleague / friend of MrM. He's off to check a hydro site out then back to pick MrM up to go sailing. Friend has a boat mored at Fowey (Cornish south coast), about 30 mins from us. Mya and myself would have gone but I'm not mobile enough at the moment. Next time. Friend is cooking dinner tonight and MrM always washes up so muse is smiling?. First chill day MrM's had for a long time.

My sympathies to Scentia and GrannyGravy13.

GrandMattie I'm sure Iris will love them.

Espee What amazing and surprising sightseeing experience!

Ashcombe BP does cause some so many problems. There seems to be no easy answer. I'm truly thankful my low BP doesn't hinder me too much.

Dwmxwg Pity about The Mill. There are were some excellent craft workshops there and an amazing cafe with delicious food. I must ask my bro where he is getting his bread flour from with the mill being closed. Have checked out the boots and will find somewhere to try them on. They go up to a 42 but my last pair of boots were 43. Although, I now live in beautiful Cornwall, I do miss Derbyshire. It's equally as beautiful.

Jax. That was a good night's sleep. Enjoy the football tonight.

Gingster Congratulations on 50 years. Glad DS1 found the album. I'd love to see a glimpse of you two on your wedding day.

GrandmaFrench I've gone for shades of grey in the new build. Slate floor, doors, skirting boards and window recesses. Final touch will be splashes of 'in your face' colours. Sofa and pieces of art or craft work for the walls. Love smoked fish. DD made us a smoked haddock soufflé tart last week - undyed of course. Excellent result with the Rheumatologist. So pleased for you.

I've read on another thread that Panache has friends calling round ?. She's in my thoughts as is Urm.

Calf and pain still linger but it will slowly go. Off for a walk after my coffee.

What everyone has planned, I hope all goes well. ? ?? ?

? just passing through, good morning from dark Anglesey, big black storm clouds all around.
Being summoned as car engine running, on our way to find a new jumper for Orlin, nothing purchased online so far has satisfied old fusspot.
Scentia flowers and GrannyGravy flowers
I imagine you could do with some too Jax flowers
Everyone ?

Nannagarra who cares how you use words? I had a fixation the other day with "lovely" which needed a bit of a slap!
You're still very funny however you write! Let's hope you remember all you've been taught when the big test comes this evening!!!!

muse glad you're feeling better. I skimmed through the late posts and honestly thought for a second that 'smoked fish' was possibly a colour. I know - what am I like? (No answers on a postcard, thanks.) Happy day to all. x

Afternoon all from overcast Ashford Kent. Marydoll I was in Specsavers yday and this was above the desk! I took a pic to give to my DH. At least twice a week he tells (!) me to ‘stop mumbling’. My reply is always the same. “ Didn’t I train people in the need for clear communication for 25 years? “ He has hearing aids and doesn’t wear them, he really needs to have his ears’ hoovered’ but says why bother cause it only helps for a couple of days. MY quality of life is deteriorating as I am so frustrated having to repeat myself. At least he went back to work on Monday, seven weeks post-cholecystectomy. AIBU to feel annoyed that he hasn’t once said thank you for nursing him during this period? The first four weeks he wasn’t able to do very much as he developed an infected wound so I was doing all the household stuff which he had always insisted on doing. Our friend who took him to the hospital on the morning of his op ( at 05:30!) got flowers and chocolates sent to her two days later! I actually feel quite resentful. I did comment about being taken for granted about ten days ago, but didn’t get a response. I didn’t mind looking after him just the lack of thanks got to me.
Sending hugs to those that need them and good wishes to all!

Good afternoon from a very showery South Yorkshire. When it comes down, it certainly comes down - then the sun comes out again. I think it will continue like this for the rest of the day.

Late to the party as I got carried away with jobs this morning, cleaning out the downstairs toilet, including the tiles and floor, then cleaning and polishing the suite, which was in need of doing. All done now, so a more leisurely afternoon, I think.

Condolences to both Grannygravy and Scentia ?.

To all feeling sad, worried or unwell, I hope the remainder of this day brings you some peace and comfort.

Take care everyone.
