Welcome to Thread II!

We companionably mused, gossiped and waffled about Royalty, and vaguely related things for 1000 posts!

Starting with names; and ending on them them…
and in between covered everything from Adam Faith to Scottish Country Dancing!

So, as before, God Bless this Ship and All who Sail in her! ??

So in what way is that "serving" Annie? I'm confused, it seems the opposite.

trisher Wed 14-Jul-21 10:19:00

I see old trenches are being re-dug and occupied and barbed wire strung along the front line. Ditch the tiara and don your tin hat old battles are about to be re-fought.

Anniebach Wed 14-Jul-21 10:22:19

Ellianne. It’s ‘self serving’

It's not "old" trenches, "old" battles. The discussion has been moved on by merlotgran's post about the upcoming award. It's all self perpetuating. I admire their tenacity and stamina.

I would like a diamond encrusted tin hat if they are being distributed, perhaps a garnet or two.

That may be so Ellianne but the posts won't change. It's so predictable-who will claim what.

trisher Wed 14-Jul-21 11:24:43

LauraNorder do you have a favoured designer or are you happy with the traditional with a bit of bling added?

Ellianne Wed 14-Jul-21 11:44:32

So are you House of Lancaster then?

Great. There's security in predictably, just like the whole of GN.

Anniebach Wed 14-Jul-21 12:02:04

As predictable as the political threads

LauraNorder Wed 14-Jul-21 18:26:28

Ellianne, garnet is my birth stone and yes, as it happens I am of the House of Lancaster. So a few garnets and lots of diamonds as I like a bit of sparkle. Trisher, I am open to suggestions for designers.
Meanwhile I have stuck some Star Wars stickers to my pink hard hat, it looks okay and suits me better than a tiara. Now I need to find a matching boiler suit, any suggestions?
Once I am suitably attired I will have my coming out party.

LauraNorder Wed 14-Jul-21 18:27:37

I know, it’s not all about me, but I try.

Blossoming

I still want a tiara. I don’t have any children. I don’t drive, smoke, burn coal or have any single use plastic. I don’t mind having a recycled tiara.

We are going to the dump again tomorrow. Would you lie me to see if there are any tiaras, Blossoming?

lemongrove Wed 14-Jul-21 23:26:29

I could make you one from the inside cylinder from three toilet rolls, easy peasy, then stick pre sucked fruitgums on it in place of gems, will that do?Very green very eco whatsit.

Callistemon Wed 14-Jul-21 23:50:05

And handy if you get a bit peckish, you could eat all the 'gems'.

Blossoming Thu 15-Jul-21 09:52:57

Ooh kamiso that would be fab! Mr. B has been looking on his trips to the dump but he’s only found gold circlets, plus some weird ring with an elvish inscription that only showed when he tried throwing it in the wood burner

Rosycheeks Thu 15-Jul-21 11:53:20

Blossoming has Mr.B been dissappearing a lot lately?

Blossoming Thu 15-Jul-21 17:11:21

Hmm, now you come to mention it Rosycheeks he has been vanishing into the man cave more frequently. He was muttering something about his ‘precious’ so he must be making me a present grin

Rosycheeks Thu 15-Jul-21 19:19:16

grin

Granniesunite Thu 15-Jul-21 19:45:52

Really good fun here with some of the replies keep them coming ladies.

FannyCornforth Fri 16-Jul-21 07:17:53

Sorry to disappoint Granniesunite, I’m going to get back to the back breaking business of pondering upon everyone’s favourite antediluvian soap opera…

Did anyone hear James Brian's Mystery Hour yesterday?
One of the questions related to the Royal Family and voting.
The caller-in asked who was the closest relative to the Queen who had the vote.
I thought ‘how interesting, I’ll have to listen to this to hear
the answer. And then I will mention it on the thread’.

But instead I forgot to listen and put the washing out or something or other.

FannyCornforth Fri 16-Jul-21 07:19:25

I know, it’s not all about me, but I try.

Thank you Laura, it does rather take the pressure off!
We can share!

Ellianne Fri 16-Jul-21 07:49:15

So can any member of the RF actually become an MP or even PM?

FannyCornforth Fri 16-Jul-21 07:55:13

Hello Ellianne (thank you for the flowers the other day btw)
I don’t know; it’s interesting isn’t it.
We need a resident constitutional expert

Anniebach Fri 16-Jul-21 07:59:21

Members of the royal family can vote so it follows they could
become a MP. Not the monarch.
