Was interested to note that some of us Gems identify with their astrological star signs on here...I was a social butterfly both at work and out socially but have somewhat changed my preferences to being "alone" more ..is this age or current environment...people have said I'm not the same B! Feel I've lost a lot of self confidence and not sure how to proceed..thoughts{hmm}

Yes, I'm Leo and always have been.

I would consider myself a very logical and rational person. I certainly wouldn’t read my horoscope however, after three score years and 10 I have realised that my closest friends and colleagues etc have invariably been born under one of the air signs (Aquarius, Gemini and libra). I have rarely known their DOB originally and only made the connection more recently. This includes my best friends at different stages of childhood and my closest friend now, as well as my husband. It doesn’t make sense but the numbers are too great for it to be a coincidence or proportionate. I’d be very interested if others could make similar groupings ie if you are Aries (Fire) do you have an affinity with Leo and Sagittarius, etc? (I had to look the other groupings up: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are all Water signs and Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn are earth).

I too am a Gemini. I believe we are supposed to be socially confident, gregarious, have a good command of the spoken word, and good communicators.

I am none of those things!

I have always 'suffered' social occasions, I'm not outgoing. I have a reasonable command of the English language but can be much more eloquent in writing, and as for keeping up communications with friends and family - I'm hopeless.

I have sometimes wondered if I'm not a typical Gemini because I was born prematurely, wasn't due until August, which would have made me a Capricorn.

My Mum's star sign was Cancer and she was typical of Cancerians.

If you were born in August sexagenarian then you would have been a Leo or Virgo depending on the day if the month!

It’s fun to do it the other way round. I remember doing this at Uni . We wrote down about what we were like and what we liked and disliked and then looked at the star sign descriptors.
Since then I’ve always thought of myself as a Libran rather than an Aquarian.

This is interesting. I am a Leo and am nothing like they say I should be. I don’t have the physical characteristics or the personality. I’d love to know why.

I agree with tickingbird. It's not just the Sun Sign, it's the moon and all the planets especially up to Saturn. Then also the rising planet etc.etc. So time, date, and place of birth is necessary which is why two Geminis may have very different temperaments and life experiences. It is a fascinating study but not for everyone and needs a lot of work particularly at Faculty diploma level. Magazine stuff is just light-hearted fun.?

Exactly what I was going to say. So no, there are not only 12 types of people in the world. People who say astrology is rubbish are usually those who know nothing about it other than magazine horoscopes. I always keep an open mind. Unless something is proven either way then I'm prepared to accept it may be true.

Here you go, the proof. I suspect NASA, Scientific American and the psychologist from the University of London have dug a bit deeper than the back page of Cormo or Women's Weekly.

Changed your mind yet?

Alegrias1 Thu 29-Jul-21 17:26:15

Cosmo not Cormo!!

Kim19 Thu 29-Jul-21 17:33:49

I'm so well balanced I just had to be a Libra.

TrendyNannie6 Thu 29-Jul-21 17:34:06

I’m a Libra and have most of the traits of one, agree with sparklefizz and tickingbird, it goes much deeper than just reading your sun sign in a magazine or daily paper

TrendyNannie6 Thu 29-Jul-21 17:35:14

Yes , Kim19 unless our scales tip ??

mokryna Thu 29-Jul-21 17:38:25

Not astrology but longevity could in the past be put down to when the baby was born regarding the harvest, not its star sign.

elleks Thu 29-Jul-21 18:15:21

I'm 2 days into Gemini, but I feel that I'm much more a Taurus.

valdali Thu 29-Jul-21 18:32:12

I'm a Gemini, I do think that people I've really clicked with have been Gemini or Aquarius - and so many couples share a star sign - it's so arbitrary I can't believe it is a factor, but my experience would support star -sign affinities

I am Cancer, ruled by the moon, need I say more !

Me too... and likewise! x

knspol Thu 29-Jul-21 20:22:10

OnwardandUpward - another Gemini here and you could be describing me especially the social butterfly part and then going home and being alone. Did once read you could always tell a Gemini by their wardrobe - they would have the same items in two different colours because they couldn't make up their mind, guilty as charged!

Jaxjacky Thu 29-Jul-21 20:23:18

Just spent 20 minutes reading what I’m supposed to be like as a Pisces as I’ve never had any interest in it. The only one that rings true is that I like swimming, along with millions of others.

MissAdventure Thu 29-Jul-21 20:42:53

In typical Taurus fashion, I think it's a load of old tosh. smile
Harmless though.

Now that's interesting MrsAllboys. I was supposed to have been born on 15 August and I have a friend with that birthdate. She has always insisted she is a Capricorn!! I wonder where she got that idea from. Now should I tell her she's wrong after all these years........ hmm Either way I'm quite happy being a Gemini.

CV2020 Thu 29-Jul-21 21:04:00

Yes I’m a Gemini too. I was born on the day before my Mother’s birthday- actually just 10 minutes before her birthday! We are very similar. Sometimes too similar. Regrettably she is no longer with us. More recently I find myself saying some things she used to say. I used to think that would never happen. I have a lot of friends/ colleagues etc who are/were also Gemini. We just get each other. I’m very confident and outgoing. However I also like being on my own too. Just as well we are all different.

LadyStardust Thu 29-Jul-21 21:13:31

I'm also a Gemini! I don't really believe in horoscopes, but when I read the typical traits of a Gemini person, they are very much like mine!

nexus63 Thu 29-Jul-21 21:59:56

i am a cancerian and with some things it is spot on, i am loving, caring and decide things very quickly, i prefer a small group to a large party, at family gatherings i will be the one filling up drinks and clearing up or putting more food out, when i meet someone new i decide straight away if i like or dislike and nothing will change my mind, if someone has hurt me i will get my own back...even if i have to wait years...lol, i don't look up my horoscope but i do think that some traits are connected

Whatdayisit Thu 29-Jul-21 22:06:34

I share my birthday with Mao Tse Tung and Phil Spector. I don't know what traits i share with them but i think my ex husbands would be able to point a few out.

Sara1954 Thu 29-Jul-21 22:09:08

I am a Gemini
Over the years quite a few people have guessed correctly.
I think I’m quite typical, but not so much of a social butterfly as I used to be!
