Yes, I've noticed that when I wake up at about 4.30 am, it's now still dark so no going out into the garden with a cup of tea to keep the birds company as they start the day! Still dark at 5.30/6am. Same with the evenings, can't now see to read out in the garden until 9.30/10 pm - it's now sunset time at about 8.15. But that's unfortunately part of the cycle of the year. I think it's harder to accept the coming of autumn (melancholy season as a precursor to the, for me, dark depression of winter), because this summer has been so disappointing and never really seemed to get off the ground.
I do try to look forward to autumn and winter events as a way of getting through those miserable months, but last year none of those were possible because of lockdown (Halloween, Bonfire night, xmas events etc) and there are depressing rumours being leaked that if covid infection levels warrant it, there will be lockdowns in autumn half term and over the Xmas period.
I'm a spring and summer person, even though I was born in November, and detest the darkness and claustrophobia of winter 'coziness', 'snuggling' and thick winter clothes.
