Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry but grey start here in brackley this morning.
Hoping my bus trips go to plan as I am aiming on Buckingham first, and then go to Bicester with a return to Buckingham to have lunch and then browse the flea market before coming home to watch the Vuelta unfold on TV .
I only hope the Buckingham bus link keeps to time and not causing delays .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all to follow from cloudy West Berkshire.

A trip to Birmingham yesterday to see another lorry with my husband was more fruitful than the trip to North Wales earlier in the week .
Stopped for a coffee in a beautiful coffee shop in the Cotswolds on the way back and chatted to the most delightful owner .

Housework this morning followed by football on the radio and my usual manicure and pedicure.
A glass of red wine ? and a film on the TV tonight to round the day off .

Happy Saturday to you all .

Goodmorning Mick. Im new to this thread but just wanted to join in. Well its a bit grey this morning in Hertfordshire but hoping to get some washing on the line later. Had my lovely old clio serviced and mot this week which passed hurrah, I always get very nervous when my car gets its mot because I could not get a new car if it fails. My car is 19 years old and as I passed my test (3rd time), on my 50th birthday, its the only car I have owned. Why I mention this is my garage man picks up the car and brings it back. I hadnt been in the car for 2 days when my DH went out yesterday and found that the car was unlocked, my garage man forgot to lock it! I feel really lucky it wasnt stolen as with live on a busy road phew! Any way we have been decorating and today im putting the house back together, why is it decorating affects every room?!.
So hello everybody and have a lovely day to you all.

Good morning from a grey E Kent l. “They” say that this summer has been the hottest, I know better. Apart from a warm week in June, we have barely reached 20C for most of the summer. Today will be no different.
Welcome Rosycheeks, this is normally a lovely, kind, welcoming and supportive thread. There have been hiccups recently, but we are all working very hard to restore the lovely ethos.
Same old, same old today. Oh, our town has gone back to its normal Bank Holiday weekend festival. They do them very well here, full of bands and food and all sorts. We normally get lots of visitors and it is full of life! So lively after the dismal times we have had.
I hope that today id full of relief and kindness to all especially our missing posters. ???☀️?

Ashcombe Sat 28-Aug-21 06:39:36

Good morning, everyone, from a bright and dry Sarthe.
Welcome to Rosycheeks!

Thank you for all the positive responses to my post yesterday which reflect the supportive interest many of you have shown in our situation over several months. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a cooked breakfast yesterday by olddudders, a rare treat for us both.

It set us up for a trip to the local Intermarché, where I was delighted to find an outfit relating to ballet for my DGD, which I shall save for her ninth birthday in a couple of months. It is still mandatory to wear masks in all shops and people adhere to this requirement. We stocked up on wine in anticipation of finishing with the meds we are both currently taking which proscribe alcohol!

Later, the lawn tractor was returned from being repaired so DH has an incentive to recover, knowing one of his toys awaits being tried!!

I hope you find some joy in whatever you have planned and I trust Scentia is on the recovery path. Take care, everyone and happy weekend!

Scentia Sat 28-Aug-21 06:54:19

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is promised to be a sunny day☀️
As I am stuck in this bedroom I won’t see it. My DH is still testing negative do I am isolating in the flare to to try to protect him, he has a heart condition snd o worry terribly if he was to get it. Myself, I feel fine. I have a headache and I am coughing a little bit but I don’t feel poorly.
I am a bit stiff from laying in bed all day yesterday so today I will do a little yoga (scentia style?) if I get time??
I read a whole book yesterday.
Welcome Rosycheeks this is a lovely thread.
Thinking about Marydoll and hoping she is ok.
I may sneak downstairs before DH gets up and see the Guineas but I must make sure I sanitize anything I touch.
I will be so proud if we manage to keep him clear of this horrible virus.

Good Morning everyone from the Cotswolds and welcome Rosycheeks.

It’s dry and cloudy and we are off out for breakfast later. After that will be mooching for something to do with my shed and seeing some of the countryside.
Fingers crossed your DH stays clear Scentia and Ash with your wine ?

Have a good day all ?

Good morning from a brightening Colchester. Weather is set fair for the weekend.
I'm happy to give a heatwave a miss Grandmattie, dry will do me!

Packing to visit family in Derbyshire for a couple of days.

A big sterile hug for Scentia and all of us x

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright corner of Somerset.

Not been able to get here for a while so very behind with everyone’s news. Laundry and general faffing for me today to take advantage of the decent weather and avoid busy roads.

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

A warm welcome rosycheeks hope you enjoy this lovely thread
This morning, I’ll be taking DGD to her dance class and DH is taking DGS to the crazy golf which re really enjoys. After that some lunch in town and a bit of shopping
Pleased you’re not feeling too poorly Scentia and hope the isolation time passes quickly for you. Hopefully your DH won’t get it either
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

maydonoz Sat 28-Aug-21 07:39:38

Good morning all from Herts where it is cloudy at the moment, but hopefully will brighten up later.
Welcome to Rosycheeks, you too are in Herts?
I'm pleased Ashcombe has been reunited with your DH after all this time. Enjoy your time together.
Yesterday we attended our neighbour's funeral, it seems so long since her passing, but it was a lovely service and afterwards a gathering at her home. Family, friends and neighbours joined together for her farewell.
Today, we need to shop for DGD's present for her 4th birthday on Monday, when we'll have a family get together, she's growing up so quickly!
Wishing you all a happy Saturday

Gingster Sat 28-Aug-21 07:42:59

Good morning and it’s overcast here in Essex.
Welcome Rosy cheeks. You sound lovely - just what we need on here after a few days of silliness.

You probably won’t get much response to your posts (I never do) but don’t take it personally.

Off to have coffee with a friend this morning . I haven’t seen her for a while, so lots of catch-up chat. .

Scentia wishing you a speedy recovery and fingers crossed for your DH.?

I hope you all have a pleasant day. ?

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 28-Aug-21 07:49:06

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate ☀️
I am coughing like a trouper, haven’t had my results back yet - Will phone at lunchtime just to check. Normally had the results in 12 hours so this is a long wait for us.
At least got rid of the malware on my MacBook again. It was a fake website going by the name of yinkun…….. that did it, avoid at all costs!! You won’t get what you’ve ordered from them either!! DD1 is off to the Lake District today. She badly needs a break her last trip had to be cancelled because DGD tested positive- she only had symptoms for a day!! They are under so much stress. Fingers crossed they will make it.
So happy for you Ash great to be reunited after all this time.
Oops! Just had my COVID results - positive- ouch!
I feel that if I can get it - taking care and avoiding people, then I might as well enjoy myself when I’m better!

Thinking of marydoll
Keep well, take care!

NanKate Sat 28-Aug-21 07:49:33

Good morning Mick our newbie Rosycheeks and All.

Yet another grey day in South Bucks. Where is the short heatwave we had been promised ?

A cooked breakfast Ashcombe that sounds lovely. ??☕️

Off to visit our 97 year old friend who fractured her hip and wrist last Saturday and is recovering in hospital. Her daughter tells me she is planning her escape ?

Hope you are reading the GM thread Mary you will be warmly welcomed back. ?

DanniRae Sat 28-Aug-21 07:58:30

Good Morning everyone from South East London - the weather is quite bright and not at all dull. I am hoping for a little sun later. We will take the dog to the park this morning and hope to meet up with some of our 'park friends' for a chat.
Then to do our weekly shop - we usually go on Friday but had a family trip out yesterday. I will chill the rest of the day - reading and tv - and Mr R cooks the dinner on Saturday! Hoorah!!
Have a really good day Everyone x smile

Scentia Sat 28-Aug-21 08:09:13

Gwenisgreat1. So sorry you are positive too, hope you don’t get too poorly.
I too couldn’t have been more careful when out and about, I think I got it at the museum last Sunday as no one apart from me and the staff were masked. I must have touched something then touched my face without sanitizing again?. Or there was the man in front of me on Tuesday in the garage who was coughing like ‘billyo’ and I had to then step into his airspace, I was masked and the attendant asked me to go to the next cashier whilst he cleaned the Perspex and counter. Test and trace asked me where I could have caught it, I think they will enjoy my essay?
Stay well Gwen ❤️❤️

Grandmajean Sat 28-Aug-21 08:09:35

Welcome rosiecheeks to a very busy and entertaining thread.
gingster surprise !I read your posts . I don't often get responses either so thought you'd like to see your name. Have a good day.
DH and son ringing church bells for a wedding today. First time in 18 months ! What a beautiful day the happy couple are getting.

nanna8 Sat 28-Aug-21 08:10:22

It was the best day we have had in a while here. Warm ,sunny and bright blue skies. Does your heart good in lockdown so we had lunch in the garden and then played some old records, having revived the record player and sorted out my old LPs dating back to the 1960s. Wahay.

Nannytopsy Sat 28-Aug-21 08:12:52

Good morning Mick and all his followers. There are bands of blue sky and cloud here in Suffolk, so I guess it’s going to be a mixed day!
The decorator is coming to finish one particular window and take his scaffolding down this morning. We keep getting light showers which do nothing for the garden but stop him painting.
Madeinoz it is our DGS’s birthday on Monday too. He will be 8 and as they are camping until tonight, I have been asked to make a cake, which his mum will decorate.
Missing your updates on our Suffolk coastline Gingster - will you come back for another long spell this year or do you stay in Essex more in the winter?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 28-Aug-21 08:14:23

Morning Mick and all

I can confirm Gingsters weather forecast for our little corner of Essex, grey with a nip in the air.

Welcome Rosycheeks love your name

No plans today, but I should iron 5 lots of bedding (including 3 king size duvets) will see how I feel later?

Gwenisgreat I hope you have only mild symptoms, you are now joining Scentia in the GM Covid Class ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Gingster Sat 28-Aug-21 08:15:32

Thanks Grandmajean ? ?

harrigran Sat 28-Aug-21 08:15:47

Good morning from a sunny NE ?
Had a disturbed night, there were a lot of car doors slamming. I got out of bed to check the street and saw that a neighbour's son had arrived with several people. My neighbour is away on holiday and I am looking after the property, she never mentioned the possibility of house guests, I do hope she knows.
DH had a text just as I was nodding off again, cheeky scam message saying that a parcel could not be delivered from the post office and to click on the link to arrange payment angry
These scams are so badly worded that it is obvious they are from criminals.
Had message with photographs from the family last night, GDs had been pony trekking, looked as if they had a great time.
Sister is home and will visit this afternoon, she had good weather in the Lakes.
Best wishes to poorly people.

Nannytopsy Sat 28-Aug-21 08:16:54

GG I have two more king sized quilt covers and a load of pillowcases to iron, if you are offering? ?

ginny Sat 28-Aug-21 08:17:54

Good morning everyone. I’m trying to convince myself that it is going to be sunny today. Our DDs have been on holiday in Dorset and N. Wales and judging by their photos on the family Whatsapp they have had plenty of blue skies.
A small local food shop and a visit to a new zero waste shop on the agenda this morning.
This afternoon we are collecting MIL for a visit and dinner. She also wants to see Lord Jasper running in the field. He goes like the wind.
Healing thoughts to all who need them and wishing everyone a smile within their day.

Gingster Sat 28-Aug-21 08:19:34

We’ll be back soon nannytopsy. ❤️
