This is a genuine question which is not wanting to stir up any trouble, but why do we have to (or do we have to?) refer to some posters as though we were in the cast of 'Allo 'Allo:
'Psst! 'as anyone seen the pastor with the 'overing 'andbag?'
We have mentioned EllanVallin and I'm64 on this thread, (which seems to have resulted in getting Iam back, which is great) and the sky didn't fall in, yet mention of She Who Must Not Be Named has to be done in thinly concealed code that must seem cliquey to those who don't 'get it', and I think that mention of 'her' is what was referred to as 'a thread about a thread' earlier.
I may be being dim, but I am confused by all of this. I realise that there is history that I don't know (and don't need to know), but the 'in' references and coded posts seem to be encouraged when (I'm guessing) straight ones are not, and yet the vague ones must be worse for putting off new posters.
As I say, I'm not looking to drag up old grievances, but I just don't understand the rules.
