Sorry to hear that you had a bad day. Hoping things are better for you soon.

What I love about this time of night Hetty, is that there is no pressure to feel that you should do anything. You can just ‘be’.

Thank you Hetty
I see that you’re having trouble posting, it’s not just you! I could not post at all for ages

Hetty58 Tue 21-Sept-21 04:05:34

(sometimes it just freezes - then I post twice)

I do still feel that I should be somehow 'making myself useful' but I'm at a loss about exactly how - at this unearthly hour. There's plenty of housework to do but it's not a favourite thing.

FannyCornforth Tue 21-Sept-21 04:15:51

I usually put the washing machine on, and then I feel like I’m doing something productive without actually doing much!
Or I tweak my online shop.
Or faff about on here!

Hetty58 Tue 21-Sept-21 04:20:30

Well, I've fed the cat (yet again) made more tea and I'm having biscuits with this one. Half watching 'undercover boss' but can't take much interest.

FannyCornforth Tue 21-Sept-21 04:24:57

My cat is stomping up and down on me in bed (doing the kneading thing) and making it difficult to type…
What type of dog do you have?

Hetty58 Tue 21-Sept-21 04:28:55

A little JRT with a big personality. Still, the cat's a year older and she's the boss.

FannyCornforth Tue 21-Sept-21 04:51:26

She must be a feisty cat to be the boss with a JRT!

FannyCornforth Tue 21-Sept-21 04:54:01

I’ve got a bichon fries / Tibetan spaniel cross, and the cat is a Maine Coon
The dog definitely thinks that she’s the boss, but the cat is that laid back, she just lets the dog get on with it.
I can’t imagine not having pets.

FannyCornforth Tue 21-Sept-21 04:55:58

Frise, not fries!
I remember a friend of mine telling me that he was growing different types of lettuce in his window sill, one of which was bichon frise! I think that he meant frisée

Hetty58 Tue 21-Sept-21 05:02:14

I just got your last 3 replies at once (thought you'd gone to sleep). I can't remember ever not having pets. I was a noisy, awkward, sleepless baby (allegedly) so had a budgie cage suspended low over my cot - and lived to tell the tale!

grandMattie Tue 21-Sept-21 05:06:57

May I join in?
Isn’t the moon bright this morning?
No pets, not even a goldfish. DH doesn’t like animals much.

Hetty58 Tue 21-Sept-21 05:14:13

Hi grandmattie! I noticed it was very bright last night. The clear sky meant it was a bit chilly too. I've not had the heating on yet - but won't be long.

grandMattie Tue 21-Sept-21 05:15:36

No, it’s supposed to be 13 at the moment, but feels warmer. Got the laundry on ATM, I’ll be able hang it out soon…

grandMattie Tue 21-Sept-21 05:28:34

All gone to sleep? I’m up for the day!

Hetty58 Tue 21-Sept-21 05:41:11

I've taken the dog out so now I'll jump in the shower and start the day. Have a lovely Tuesday both of you - signing off for now.

nadateturbe Tue 21-Sept-21 05:45:08

Good morning grandMattie. I'm just heading back to bed but I just thought I'd say say hello. How lovely to be wide awake so and starting your day. I love early morning, its so peaceful. The moon is misty here in NI. Beèn up an hour in our caravan reading a silly novel about a girl growing lavender in France, easy reading in middle of the night. I too don't have pets for the same reason unfortunately.
Anyway have a good day ?.
Hope day is better for you FannyC flowers

FannyCornforth Tue 21-Sept-21 05:56:02

Thank you nadateturbe

Sending you love grandMattie ?
Wishing everyone a calm and peaceful day ahead

I’m awake having slept from 1.30-5.30. It’s unusual for me to sleep for 4 hour stretch. Just having a cup of decaffinated coffee and will go back to bed to read and hopefully get back to sleep.

grandMattie Tue 21-Sept-21 06:35:31

Hope you managed another sleep.
Love this time of day. The quiet, the fresh new start…
I normally try to have a post-prandial nap, probably not today as I have a lot of shopping to do this afternoon.

Mollygo Tue 21-Sept-21 06:42:36

Hope you have a better day today FC. Evidently the dog woke up at 3am, but DH took her out and I never noticed.
We’re outside again now though and the toy of the day is a tyre- roll, chase, roll again, sniff, sniff, root and hopefully perform!
