One of my sons inherited the handsome gene and always had a string of girlfriends. An unmarried older cousin was visiting and asked his brother 'what's it like to have such a good looking brother ?
Not finished there she then asked the other one 'what's it like to have such a clever brother?
Have you had any tactless incidents?

Years ago I went to visit my grandmother who was then in her 80s. It was a warm summers day and I was wearing shorts.
As I arrived she looked me up and down and said 'haven't you got fat knees'!

Some of those comments did make me laugh, can’t believe what people. Say ?
I dont know if this is tactless or just down right nasty.
But my sister rang me 6 months after my son died and asked how I was when I said not good she said you should be over his death by now. I didn’t speak to her for a year.

So very sorry for your loss Sheilasue Take it your sister didn't have children? x

My husband died in a car crash, one of my sisters said ‘ pity he
died today, it’s spoilt Mum’s birthday’

I went out with a “friend” years ago when I was struggling with the change. Honestly I had put on so much weight that nothing fitted so I bought a black jumper and some black trousers. She said in front of loads of people that she couldn’t believe just how fat I was!!!!! Then she topped it off with saying that I looked like I was going to a funeral. It could have been hers if she had made another comment. We parted company years later when she told that I was stupid to finish with my womanising partner!!!!!

Unforgivable.
There are some truly awful examples of people who really should learn to engage their brain before they open their mouth in these posts. Breathtakingly rude.

When I was working we had to move to another office for a meeting. It was very cold in the room and my colleague said she would go and get our coats. We both had black jackets. She came back, put a jacket on and said to me loudly and in front of everyone 'Oh I've got your jacket on. It's so big I look like a clown'. I was size 12 at the time.

My mother once told a young person off in the high street a few years ago, by making a withering comment about her muffin top outfit showing off a fat roll saying "love, did you not look in the mirror before you came out? That look is not a good one....." I did explain to Mum that really she needed to keep her thoughts to herself. She was lucky she wasn't thumped or worse!

When I told my elderly mother I was being tested for cancer she said “Oh I thought you’d probably still have 10 years left in you.”
I had tried to tell her gently thinking she’d be upset!
There are other comments too numerous to mention. All hurtful.

Similar scenario, I'd had inflamed lymph nodes removed for investigation.
Didn't tell my Mum until afterwards and the all clear. Her response?
"Thank you for not telling me sooner, it would rather have spoilt my holiday." ?

Aged 14 and a new white mac/trench coat for Easter. Meet up with ‘best’ friend and she says
“Isn’t it funny, I’ve nothing new, but I still look better”.

Met a work colleague whilst out with DH, next day in the office she expressed surprise that I had married "such a good looking man!"
