Perverted man claims to be a woman - may be housed in a women's prison

Housing this creature in a trans wing doesn't alter the fact that the crime will be listed as a female crime.

It is vitally important that sex-based research is based on sex, as opposed to self-id gender. Many policies are made based on sex - whether they are on pensions, housing, benefits, pay or whatever. Criminologists really need to know who is committing which crimes and in what circumstances so that things like crime prevention, sentencing and legislative changes.

If someone can commit a crime that is only possible for men to commit, but identify as a woman, then all of the above is at risk. Whatever people think about self id, surely everyone can see that it is in nobody's interests to have statistics skewed in this manner? What can possibly be gained by it/

The changes have come because of very brave women speaking out, and presumably because some of the legal cases taken against the prison service. The same approach needs to be taken with regard to refuges sport etc.

Rosie51 I believe one transman was placed in male prison, at her request, but was quickly removed for her own safety.
It isn't prison policy to place transmen in male prisons.

He was already a convicted paedophile, and was on a life term Sex Offenders License, when he decided to rape his Alsation dog and film it. Now he'll be in a prison cell with women who are vulnerable and at further risk of harm. He should in a men's prison, in solitary confinement, where he can no longer sexually abuse either children or animals.

I would say a mental facility actually.....

Some men who commit crimes ( particularly sexual ones) have latched on to the fact that their treatment will be better if they pretend to be transgender, put a wig on and call themselves Claire/ Lola or whatever.
This has no bearing on genuine transwomen who live blameless lives and must feel as angry as anyone else by these awful individuals.

If the OP hadn’t mentioned the perpetrator’s trans status it would have ignored the relevant points that the case raises. That he is convicted as a woman of a crime that women can’t commit, that the crime is recorded as ‘female’, and that he may very well be housed in a women’s prison. All of these things have a massive impact on women’s lives and rights, so are important to feminists.

The fact that some researchers differentiate between sex and gender, if anything, clouds the issue further. They will make comparative studies more difficult to carry out as the pool of each category will be diminished.

How can that happen trisher when, until very recently, he's referred to himself as a man called John but suddenly, faced with a prison sentence, he's suddenly discovered that he's actually "a woman". So it is a trans issue because it's yet another man who's committed a sex crime and fears facing other hairy arsed male criminals in a men's prison and getting abused by them so they suddenly decide to change their gender. Women don't have a penis that they can penetrate dogs with. That's a male privilege.

Well as a transgender prison unit was opened in 2020 hopefully this person will be accommodated there. It is a problem which arose very recently and it is being dealt with.

The first sentence tickingbird is deliberately designed to make it apear a transgender issue. It isn't. It's an issue of a sexual pervert who has major problems.
If I had linked all women with the murder of Star Hobson because she was killed by two women it would be jumped on,(and rightly so) the same would have happened if anyone had linked lesbians to the death. You can't blame an entire section of society for an individual crime.

It was the monster who committed these sexual crimes that decided to that transgender issues were suddenly important, who decided that he deserved to be treated in a way which will set the transgender acceptance movement back years, whose case will be trotted out by people who cannot accept transgender people as an example of how it is abused. How on earth can HE be taught to deal with what he did when technically his crime of rape by penis doesn't exist because he claims to be female? Or is he just a 'lucky woman' who happens to have a handy penis to use to rape and abuse?

It's strange how trans issues are either all important, and must trample over others' rights, and yet here is an opportunity to discuss a real case, and it's now nothing to do with trans issues.
