soop

Yay! Scotland beat Italy. An entertaining game. My throat is dry from too much yelling.

A quiet end to a peaceful day. I wish you all a pleasant evening. At nine o'clock I shall raise a small G&T to our Kitcheners. Slainte! smile moon

Scotland did it for you Soop!

Gagagran Sat 12-Mar-22 18:01:31

So glad that things have improved for you Soop and long may that continue. You are sounding so much more like our old friend now and that is heart-warming news amidst all the horrors in the media.

Has Sweetiepie ventured indoors properly yet? Or is she still just doing half board?

I’ll join you for the G&T at 9 tonight soop to celebrate your very important 1 month milestone and the incredible progress you’ve made so far
We had quite a late lunch out in town today with DH, DD2 and 8 year old DGS. He’s growing up so quickly and it’s lovely to spend time with him. DGD aged 7 was at her dancing class and we picked her up later and then spent the best part of half an hour in the Smiggle shop which has all things sparkling, colourful and cute that she just adores

Home now with feet up - DH is in the kitchen making something and I’m just chilling out here with my good friends in the kitchen ?

Grandmajean Sat 12-Mar-22 19:41:49

So glad to hear you are improving Soop
Slainte to you too !

TillyTrotter Sat 12-Mar-22 20:00:03

I will raise a glass to “swift recovery” soop - may it improve rapidly now you have passed the 1 month period.
9 pm, ? with all kitchen friends who do likewise. “Slainte” to you all.

Grandmabatty Sat 12-Mar-22 20:50:17

You are sounding better Soop. I had an unexpected invite to coffee this afternoon. A friend, who I haven't seen for ages sent me a message inviting me to hers for coffee and a blether. It was really nice to catch up. However I have a really sore throat today. I've done a lft and it's negative. It feels more like an ulcer and it's very painful. I'll survive, I'm sure. ? The housework is all done too, so my inner housewife is smiling. I hope you are all having a good evening Kitcheners.

Nannytopsy Sun 13-Mar-22 09:52:41

Good morning everyone! So glad to see a much more perky soop sitting by the Aga. A month already? We are struggling with how fast life is flashing by here.
It’s been a busy week following stepDGGS being taken to hospital. He is home and still putting on weight but his heart still goes very fast when he gets excited. Hopefully he will grow out of it.
Our DGC stayed with us as there was Covid in school and other granny is more vulnerable. DGS tested positive 24 hours after they went home, so fingers firmly crossed. Plus it was a busy WI week and craft afternoon. Thank goodness it’s all over and I can finish the ironing and get on with the garden!
Well done Scotland and what determined young men the English team were. No shame in that defeat and I think the French may be a bit worried about next week.
Glad to see Puss is still visiting soop. We still think we see Charlie then it turns out to be slippers or a cushion! ?
I got a chicken out of the freezer yesterday which is a bit big. “Never mind, Charlie will share it” I thought then realised.

Hope you all have a great Sunday, especially those who are on holiday!

soop Sun 13-Mar-22 13:36:04

A blustery good afternoon to my favourite peoples.

*Nannytopsy better news regarding your step GGS. Wishing him a steady recovery. Also, of course, your grandson with Covid.
The mention of the chicken and your comment that Charlie "will share it", brought a lump to my throat.

Grandmabatty If your inner housewife is satisfied...feet up and relax. You know that it makes sense. smile

brook I would enjoy a trip to the Smiggle shop. It sounds delightful.

Gaga *Sweetie Pie has ventured a few paw-paces into the kitchen. I pretend not to notice. wink

Varian I was thrilled for Scotland. What's more, Andy Murray appears to be more like the tennis player we remember with huge pride.

It was lovely sharing a Slainte session with my pals in the kitchen.

Zizzy zaggy lines are in my field of vision. I shall return when they abate.

Mapleleaf Sun 13-Mar-22 13:42:39

So pleased you seem so much better, soop. Hope those ziggy zaggy lines abate quickly, though. ?

soop Sun 13-Mar-22 15:28:22

Mapleleaf Yep, the ziggy-zaggy lines disappeared during a phone conversation with our son. No pain. Just disrupted vision. What us lot would term a minor buggeration. wink

soop Sun 13-Mar-22 15:32:10

I believe that there is a rugby match taking place this afternoon between Northampton Saints and Wasps. In my youth, I had a weekend job behind the bar at the Saints' ground; Franklin Gardens. The soles of my shoes rotted in due course...the beer on the floor after a match was to blame.

I shall take a looksie.

gillgran Sun 13-Mar-22 15:47:33

It's good to see you sounding more like yourself, soop, we're all sending healing, positive thoughts to you as you continue your recovery, ( well done MrSoop for taking great care of your patient)!
Pleased for you that Scotland won their Rugby match,
Think of "poor me" having my DH in the dumps after the England match!
Just to rub it in, our DGDs3&4, (aged nearly 8,& nearly 5), have been singing all the anthems on our "grandparents whats app"! They have a Grandfather born in Scotland & a GGM born in Ireland! So they try to please us all!!

Warm wishes to all.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 13-Mar-22 16:43:18

So pleased to see you back posting soop , good that you are on the mend ??‍♀️

Blossoming Sun 13-Mar-22 16:54:58

Good to see you posting and sounding so positive soop. I’m glad the little one is home safe nannytopsy.

Grandmabatty Sun 13-Mar-22 17:40:05

A lovely long message Soop which indicates that you are on the mend. I made lime and coconut cake and peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies this morning. I took half to dd and spent the afternoon with her and the boys. I'll leave some here. I'm currently lying on the couch as I'm knackered being grandma.

soop Sun 13-Mar-22 17:50:44

You lot are the best.

The Saints triumphed. Well pleased.

Have done the deed and changed the gubbins. An ulcer forming. Will phone the district nurse to ask her advice first thing tomorrow morning.

Love to you and I send good wishes for a peaceful and pleasant Sunday evening. smile moon

TillyTrotter Sun 13-Mar-22 17:59:29

Awww soop sorry to hear that. 2 steps forward and 1 back. It is still progress, keep on keeping on dear soop ?

Grandmabatty I think you might mean Christmas crackered - don’t teach the GC to say knackered or you will be in trouble with the parents ?
I am first in the queue for the lime and coconut cake please.

I had a very long walk this morning (had to dodge mud) but am now waiting for steak and ale pies to bake for tea with veggies and gravy.
Have a good evening all.

Grandmabatty Sun 13-Mar-22 18:19:40

Soop total buggeration ?. Tillytrotter I am very careful in front of the boys. ?

Jaxjacky Sun 13-Mar-22 18:49:30

Well that is indeed a buggeration soop, hopefully swiftly sorted tomorrow, at least nipped in the bud.
Lazy day here, my daughter doorstep dropped my birthday present, rather late due to her departed Covid, Finley and his Covid stayed in the car.
MrJ is happy as Ireland won the rugby and his football team, Leeds won, mine, another Saints, lost.
Enjoy your evening all x

varian Sun 13-Mar-22 18:50:51

Hope that the district nurse can soon sort out the buggeration Soop ^You take care.

brook2704 Sun 13-Mar-22 20:55:34

Hopefully it’ll soon get sorted soop without too much trouble and discomfort

It’s eventually all gone quiet here with DGS and DGD having a sleepover whilst their mum and dad have a night out seeing Ed Byrne at Eden court theatre in Inverness. Our little madam was using every trick in the book to prolong the bedtime ritual but hopefully she’s asleep now and I’ll join grandmabatty in the corner of the kitchen munching on the cake and cookies

Hoping Finlay is over his covid soon Jax and not too poorly and good news about the baby being home now nannytopsy I hope he continues to do well

maddyone Mon 14-Mar-22 11:25:40

Morning everyone. I’m pleased to see you posting soop but hope the ulcer doesn’t cause to much trouble.
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday with son number one and daughter in law round for a late lunch/early dinner.
A parcel has just arrived, haven’t opened it yet as I think it’s from my daughter in New Zealand, ready for my birthday later this week.

soop Mon 14-Mar-22 15:29:35

maddy Exciting! Do not open until the day.

brook the tricks that wee ones make to delay bedtime proper are world renowned. grin

Grandmabattty Steak and ale pie. Wow! Any going spare? wink

The nurse called in this morning. It is the beginning of an ulcer that is now appropriately "dressed". Best dealt with at an early stage.
We have a busy day of hospital appointments this week. Remaining breast to be screened. Appointment in the same hospital with a specialist stoma nurse. After which, post surgery check up with surgeon at Ross Hall. Friends will house-sit and feed our creatures so that we can stay overnight in hotel. Mr Soop is most grateful.

A wet and blustery day. I shall return to my comfortable armchair to continue reading my Galbraith tome. I am enjoying it.

Back a little later. smile

Fave photo of Mr Soop's taken on Dartmoor in the early 90's

Jaxjacky Mon 14-Mar-22 17:03:29

Well caught on the looming ulcer soop, magnificent mane of hair on you. A new Galbraith due this summer The Ink Black Heart, can’t wait.
I had a drive today, a lady visiting her optician for new glasses, it took her a long time as I was away from home for nearly three hours.
Because I was out so long I can procrastinate and put off housework until tomorrow, washing done though.
Fin tested -ve this morning brook if he’s the same tomorrow, it’s back to school, only four days from his +ve test, either because he’s young or ?it’s waning.
Leftovers for an easy meal tonight.
Best wishes to you all and hugs for poorly people x

mrshat Mon 14-Mar-22 17:18:45

Lovely photo soop. So good to see you posting again and also good news from the stoma nurse. Onwards and upwards from now on. Rest well before your day of non-stop appointments and even more rest when you get back home. It is so sensible to spend the night in an hotel. You will both need a relaxed 'overnight'!
