Virtual cruise Lyon to Avignon and Arles

But if the simulation to work well, there needs to be easy to follow included links too

No there doesn't.
We have fertile imaginations.

I'll take a look.

We have fertile imaginations.

A simulation needs to be set up so as to be easy and straightforward at an introductory level and yet also provide facilities and scope to allow for a more complex version to be experienced.

So a maximum of three links to videos each day, yet people can, if they choose, do their own searches, instead of using, or as well as using, the links provided.

A balanced approach so as to provide enjoyment for all participants, some of whom may not be posting.

It is time for lunch on the cruise ship.

The ship is still moored at the Quai Claude Bernard in Lyon.

Why do we need these arches SD? We know if the rules have changed without them.

CaravanSerai Sun 12-Jun-22 13:37:06

More orchestration. I have found a puncture repair kit for the dinghy and some oars.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 12-Jun-22 13:40:06

This seems far from my idea of a leisurely cruise.

Off to find a Booze Cruise.
More fun, fewer rules!

StarDreamer Sun 12-Jun-22 14:51:05

Here is a link that shows the arch in an excerpt from an episode of Star Trek The Next Generation

The arch, in front of the exit

In case some readers find this thread simulation in the future, so that hopefully it will be clear to them.

I'm going to take French leave now. I did say at the beginning, or on the other cruise thread, that I had no time for links. GN for me is a bob in and out activity, sometimes sitting on a bench, and I don't want to start drowning in research. There's already too many posters on GN who show annoyance if you don't read their links, (not you SD), so is au revoir from me.
By the way there's still some local Saint Marcellin cheese in the fridge I was going to serve you tonight, and some raspberries for a dessert.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 12-Jun-22 15:14:17

I still don’t see the point of the arches SD. One only has to read the posts to understand that the rules have been changed. I have never come across this before.

StarDreamer Sun 12-Jun-22 15:27:38

It is just a way of expressing things with precision, like lawyers have words like tort and so on so as to have precise meaning instead of risking ambiguity by using everyday phrases. I have used it twice, once to go from no links to only links to videos, and once to go from no limit on links to videos to a limit of three links to videos each day. That's all, just a simple way of noting things.

CaravanSerai Sun 12-Jun-22 15:30:28

I am really sorry to see you go Joseanne. I have already sculled a long way down river from the mothership. The food was glorious and relevant. Thank you.

Marydoll Sun 12-Jun-22 15:33:25

This is too much for my addled brain, I can't keep up. Why does it need to be so complicated?

Joseanne Sun 12-Jun-22 15:35:27

Thank you CaravanSerai.
By the way, available in Waitrose.

StarDreamer Sun 12-Jun-22 15:43:00

The cruise is due to depart for Vienne tomorrow morning.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 12-Jun-22 15:46:50

A tort is a form of civil wrong, such as negligence. It is a word which you will find in an English dictionary. Your way of expressing something with precision seems confined to you and Star Trek (no, I don’t want to watch it). It’s such an unnecessary distraction. I’m jumping ship too. This could have been simple and enjoyable but it’s neither.

StarDreamer Sun 12-Jun-22 16:09:30

I have now visited Le musée des Tissus et des Arts décoratifs (The Textile Arts and Decorative Arts Museum).

There’s a bistro in Hexham called Bouchon…she said irrelevantly

MawtheMerrier Sun 12-Jun-22 17:04:19

I am not sure whether this is the same as what you refer to as a simulation SD, but we have had virtual Halloween parties, we have the Argy and other “virtual” celebrations so I don’t see what his “arches” thing has to do with the price of bread.
I think we are all intelligent enough to know what is what!

MawtheMerrier Sun 12-Jun-22 17:05:29

PS we didn’t need and didn’t have rules

StarDreamer Sun 12-Jun-22 17:15:28

What is Argy please?
