I have read the ladies’ cruise thread and thought it was very amusing. As a man with I hope a modern outlook I saw nothing wrong in the humour I read.

That’s good news, it didn’t cross my mind that she would be banned, I’m just glad she’s not unwell - you never know with Covid.

I don’t have the time for all that StarDreamer, I have work to do. I have read the words quoted and saw that you wrote them. I was pretty shocked, but I do not wish to get into an argument with you or anyone else so will say no more.

It is not an argument with me. I am just asking you to point out the original of what I wrote and I am happy to discuss what I wrote.

I did not get people banned. That claim was incorrect.

If someone makes an accusation and includes a quotation, the proper thing to do is to examine the quoted words in the context that they were made.

I think it was nothing whatsoever to do with that thread, though.
What gets people banned is their own inability to stick to the rules.

I have been reported for comments I've made before, so I had to behave myself. I didn't like it; I didn't agree with it, but I'm grown up enough to accept it.

How people report is up to them, it is really juvenile to call people sneaks. I very very rarely report threads as we are adults, but if I do I will not be told how to do it. Agree with stardreamer and *MissA you report how you wish and feel comfortable with.

There is a GN rule against having a thread about a thread and posters here seem to be testing out what they can get away with, in that respect.

What some call bullying, on GN, is just a number of posters making similar points.

I've seen actual GN bullying where a few people make apparently nonsensical posts which are intended to ridicule someone.
In my opinion, people who do that are nastier than 'sneaks' who report.

Usually, I think it's best to let nasty posts stand, so the posters can be seen for what they are.

No, deeming the reporting of impropriety to be sneaking is the language of the bully. They call it grassing. But reporting improper conduct is not grassing nor sneaky.

There's was an unpleasant post some time ago, it was rather sexually explicit and was soon taken down. Such posts and those that are blatantly advertising should be reported surely? Perhaps the OP on this thread could be more specific?

It's all incredibly juvenile. Sneaks, snitches, cowards, and so on.

I have never reported anyone. I love the phrase "what's occurring" Doodledog. Are you really Nessa? I agree with you people soon let themselves down.

Bullying goes on, on here. I haven't seen any for quite a while now, because I'm not on here much these days.

But I've seen members hounded off the site. I've also had it directed off me, although I've got thick skin and am not fazed by it. I think some members are more invested in being 'in' the in crowd, because they have more time, or maybe during covid, had little interaction with other people due to lockdowns.

I'd report if someone was exhibiting hate speech (racism, sexism, bigotry etc). But I'd also challenge them on their hate speech.

I consider that deeming the reporting of impropriety to be sneaking is the language of the bully.

If someone is acting improperly and that activity is reported to the proper authority then that is not sneaking, it is a right and proper action.

Yet the allegation should not be deemed correct by the proper authority simply because it has been made. It is inportant to investigate and hear both sides before making any conclusion.
