As some if you know I have terminal cancer. I want t go abroad for a holiday. I have my oncologist approval. Travel insurance though ….. a lot of companies will not insure me because I took part in a non invasive trial recently. No Follow up procedures, no medication. I did it mainly to help future patients as it can’t save me.

So pleased to hear that Lucca!
Brilliant news!
Split and Dubrovnik are both such beautiful interesting places to visit, and in fact Croatia generally has quite a few little gems to explore.

In addition, I think you have chosen the best possible way to visit as cruises are the most wonderful, stress free, relaxing ways to see the world.

When are you going?

SueDonim Wed 27-Jul-22 11:29:35

September is a good time of year as it shouldn’t be too hot and tiring then.
I haven’t been ‘around’ much lately as we have just got back from a holiday in Cornwall where we managed escape the extreme temperatures of home in the south east.

So pleased also to hear that your hair is starting to grow back. Something else for you to celebrate!

Auntieflo Wed 27-Jul-22 12:03:36

Lucca, just read your great news. Exciting or what?
It's a good day for us and you. ??
I have also managed to insure us , with SAGA, for our short break. All my medical history taken into account.
Who did you insure with, if you don't mind my asking?

Razzamatazz Wed 27-Jul-22 12:18:01

I'd like to know as well please.

That's disgraceful Lucca and I hope you find somebody to insure you.

I'm going to follow this thread because I've agreed to take part in a cancer trial too - and I'm going to ask loads of questions beforehand.

Absolutely make sure you do !

ourtravelinsurance.co.uk/ This is the broker I used. Really helpful. Shout out to Brenda!
The insurers are actually Allclear .
By using a broker I only had to give them all the details rather than repeating them to x different companies,

dragonfly46 Wed 27-Jul-22 12:50:02

I have been advised that Staysure and Allclear are the best for pre-existing conditions.
Pleased you managed to get insurance - there is hope for the rest of us!

Razzamatazz Wed 27-Jul-22 14:48:02

Thank you for the link Lucca, I've passed it on to my friend.

crazyH Wed 27-Jul-22 14:56:05

Unfortunately, both companies cancelled my annual insurance polices, then would only allow single use policies. They eventually wouldn't insure me at all!

It's probably an indication that I should just holiday at home now!
