Topic borrowed from MN.

My husband and I have never worn slippers since we were young children.

No noisy neighbours, apart from cows, sheep and birds
No light pollution
No gas supply
No bath, we only have showers
No TV channels that have to be paid for
No Kindle, we prefer to read paper books
No boots, apart from wellies
No slippers, we wear our shoes indoors
No onesies, we'd look ridiculous in them
No takeaways - don't like them and too expensive
No clean floors - our dog doesn't like them!

Would not give up my dishwasher for all the tea in China! The plates and cups/knives and forks are so spotlessly clean and shiny. Im not lazy, just fussy about hygiene.
I havent got an Alexa, but quite fancy one. Might see how much they cost.
Our neighbours dont have a computer or wifi.
Their choice and money saving. But how I wish they would stop coming round asking me to look stuff up, or pay bills for them online.
I know its only a bit of fun, but this thread has made me feel so grateful for what I have.

But I do have slippers, and many throws to keep warm.

Like someone else has said - I’m grateful for what I have and generally don’t have things because I don’t want them but luckily could afford most of them if I really wanted.

Love my warm and cosy slippers especially on the cold uncarpeted floors in the kitchen and hallway, dishwasher, tv, iPad, phone and kindle, air fryer and microwave, toaster and kettle.

Large TV
Beach holidays

BBQ.
We do have a dishwasher; I thought it unnecessary but had to agree it washes up far better than I do.

Oh, and I don’t have an ironing board. I have an iron somewhere, but it must be with the hair dryer. Never sees the light of day. I am bemused when people talk about ‘the ironing’.

No cat, very sadly.

A skirt.

Good grief, how can anyone not have a ironing board or never use an iron. I iron most things, even a king size quilt cover. It can sometimes take me ages to iron a single dress, I am a fussy ironer. I don’t understand how anyone can go out in crinkled clothes. Is that an old people’s thing. What about social occasions. I always thing that it looks horrible and lazy to go out in unironed clothes

Maggierose Mon 03-Oct-22 16:27:25

Tumble dryer
Dishwasher
Rubber gloves
But am considering buying an electric clothes dryer.

Lemontart Mon 03-Oct-22 16:37:59

Dishwasher. We don't have room in our kitchen.

Jennyluck Mon 03-Oct-22 16:38:18

Hot tub

rosie1959 Mon 03-Oct-22 16:42:16

I have never worked that one out either ajswan
Most of my dresses are Boden or Seasalt and a jersey fabric so look fine hung up to dry
Depends what sort of clothes you wear I suppose I can get a reasonable finish on t-shirts by stretching out and hanging up or a light tumble dry but never that just pressed finish
All chinos and linen fabrics need a good press

FannyCornforth Mon 03-Oct-22 16:50:59

Hot tub

This is beyond silly now!
No one thinks that it’s ‘normal’ or commonplace to have a hot tub!

Rosina Mon 03-Oct-22 16:52:40

Well, take heart ajswan, I read today that the latest cat walk look is to have everything creased and crumpled.

HazelGreen Mon 03-Oct-22 16:58:24

No rubber gloves
No handyman
No pyjamas
Ah but must have slippers with some sort of sole on them, surely sensible to avoid slipping and popping out to washing line or sort bins?

Susieq62 Mon 03-Oct-22 17:19:37

No Sky dish on the wall
No barbecue
No fire pit
No air fryer
No dog
