Good morning from Sefton. Wet & windy here. I will join you Mizuna & RandL. I will be in my little "summer house" with the doors open & a blanket & a book ... providing the rain stays vertical & doesn't become horizontal! I used to love being in our caravan listening to the wind & the rain. The sound would send me to sleep. Is that a bit weird?
Thoughts & ((hugs)) for those of you struggling with life.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and looking like rain
A very Happy Birthday NannyJan enjoy your very special day and then your holiday 💐🎂🥂
Hoping your hip eases a bit Ash take care
A busy day ahead, I’m going to the gym this morning, apparently it’s National Fitness day today and they’ve got a load of ‘challenges’ lined up for us - not looking forward to that!!
Later we’re picking up DGD from school and bringing her back here for a sleepover, her request again so that’s lovely.
Hope you get the car insurance sorted corner it’s definitely a hassle you could do without
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 20-Sept-23 07:49:01

Good morning it’s blustery here but dry so far.
Happy BirthdayNannyjan have a lovely day and holiday
Off to collect MrOops car from the garage this morning and that’s it, I’m feeling a bit out of sorts and keep falling asleep! Not sure what that’s all about but it doesn’t seem to be my Asthma as stats are ok.
Anyway hope all have a good day, travellers have a traffic free time and all those who are poorly have good test results.
Stay dry.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a grey, gloomy South Yorkshire. We are in for a wet windy day. It blew all my pots of tomatoes over yesterday but they are coming to a finish now so I may just cut them down and have done with it. I had a chat on the phone with my best friend last night, who has a frozen shoulder and a problem with her hip. She’s on copious quantities of pain killers and finding it difficult to get about.
Writers group at the library this afternoon - it’s poetry week. If it’s very wet I don’t know what sort of turnout there will be.
Happy birthday NannyJan🎂🎁 and a happy holiday.
Have a good day folks.

Good morning from Shropshire where it is raining.I am another wet weather fan.

Yesterday DD1 and I had our first Welsh lesson🤯We are learning in North Wales, DH is from West Wales so wasn’t liking our pronunciation🤦🏼‍♀️

Today I am going into town to get a certificate printed and framed for my mum.I had my late dad’s name added to a lifeboat via the RNLI’s launch a memory scheme and received the certificate yesterday. It will make a nice extra gift for mum’s birthday.

Ash I’m thinking you should have an X-ray of your hip.

grandMattie what a lovely surprise visit.

Susan56 Wed 20-Sept-23 07:51:25

Happy birthday NannyJan.Enjoy your holiday.

Good morning from very wet South Lanarkshire.

My friend and I had a lovely catch up yesterday and I met her baby DGS for the first time, lots of gorgeous cuddles.

Working today, counting down the days until I finish at the end of this month.

Thinking of all those with worries and troubles, especially Urms just now.

Have the best day possible everyone.

baubles Wed 20-Sept-23 07:53:00

Oh and a very happy birthday to Nannyjan.

Morning all from a damp West Oxfordshire. My gardener said she would come today to prune the roses! I think she might be washed away. I don’t think our cleaner is coming. She is suffering from ill health. We have our monthly U3A lunch today. Should be fun. Later on OH will collect his new specs from Specsavers and I have a small order to pick up from Waitrose. WI this evening. We are having a demo of Irish dancing. The competition is ‘something Irish’ so I have bought a bottle of Guinness, having first checked it was brewed and bottled in Dublin. Have a good day everyone. Don’t forget, it’s still officially summer!.

grandMattie Wed 20-Sept-23 07:54:17

grannygravy, for his 60th birthday, I gave my husband a tractor load of horse manure for his garden. He was thrilled!

Happy birthday Nannyjan 🌺🪷

Urms, not a day passes without you all in my heart. I just don’t say it all the time. Many blessings and “courage mon brave”! ❤️

Liberty Wed 20-Sept-23 07:58:49

Good morning from a still grey Suffolk. I don’t know what the forecast is but yesterday was very windy. A large branch fell into the pond from one of the trees surrounding it but no damage done.

Someone told me that the library in our nearest town has someone from the council there every Tuesday to help with IT issues. I popped in to check if he might be able to help me fill in the online application for a tourist visa for India and we agreed he would be able to do so in the afternoon.

Even with his knowledge and competence it took over 1.5 hours to do it,including uploading photos. Now submitted I wait with bated breath to see if it is approved!

Off to my keep fit shortly and then I’ll take the day as it comes. DH has just reminded me it is little dog’s 8th birthday today but don’t think she will have anything like the celebrations of GNs shared here recently.

Good morning from dark and dismal s somerset, windy, rainy

I need to read backwards later, off in five minutes for footcare appointment. I am thinking of stopping that as I can reach my feet and have a sanding device, oil etc and the bills arrive after christmas

I have started hibernating hedgehog mode, my natural way of being but won`t be fully into that until the garden has been put to bed and the apples picked

Have a good day

Marydoll Wed 20-Sept-23 08:07:24

Good morning all from a verywet Glasgow, where its 16°C. We had non stop rain yesterday.

Birthday greetings yo Nannyjan!🎂🎁🎈 Scicily was on my bucket list 💚, have a great time.

Ash, please see about your hip, people with cardiovascular problems are advised not to take ibruprofen.

We are off with DD and SIL to Troon for an overnight. (We have vouchers to use,) I thought I might not get, because I spent much of yesterday in bed, my chest is so congested and this permanent cough is driving me mad! The plan is to wear a sign saying, I do not have Covid. People keep giving dirty looks! I may have to contact my GP, if it doesn't improve, it's all to do with my heart. However, I may just have to put up with it!

DS1 was down last night to watch the football and was quite worried. I usually cover up how unwell I am, so they rarely see me struggling. I don't want them worrying, but there is nothing to be done anyway.
However DS revealed he had been for a chest xray and was on steroids and antibiotics, so now I am worried!

Wishing you all a pleasant day. I'm off to look out my waders etc,, it looks as if I may need them. Prayers for all who are struggling, especially The Urms.

Sar53 Wed 20-Sept-23 08:18:20

Good morning from the Essex coast where it has started to rain.
DH is going to London today to meet up with an old work colleague. I will visit the charity shop and then do a small supermarket shop. Ironing awaits first.
A very Happy Birthday to Nannyjan, enjoy your holiday. As I've said before 1953 was a good year.
Thinking of Urms and her DH and anyone else going through rough times.
Have a good Wednesday everyone xx

Beechnut Wed 20-Sept-23 08:21:15

Good Morning from a very gloomy Severnside.

Happy 70th Birthday NannyJan 🎉🎉🍸🎂enjoy your holiday.

I think I’ll clean the inside of some of the windows today and then potter around doing odd jobs.

It’s a wellies and hoods up day if you’re out and about ☔️

Georgesgran Wed 20-Sept-23 08:22:10

Good morning from Durham where it’s wet and wild. Huge gales overnight, but I haven’t been outside yet, to see if there’s any damage. I’m pleased I had my garden fence strengthened earlier in the year.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee this afternoon, but I’ve DD2’s laundry to tackle this morning and her Little Dog to take out tonight.
Always thinking of Urms. DH’s Consultant often rang him at night to discuss ‘things’.
Birthday Greetings to anyone celebrating today.
Best wishes to all. X

GrannySomerset Wed 20-Sept-23 08:24:18

Horrible forecast - gusty winds and heavy rain - but I have to be out and about, including singing this afternoon. Autumn is with us with a vengeance.

Thoughts today with Ash, Marydoll and Urms and anyone else for whom life is tough at present.

BlueSapphire Wed 20-Sept-23 08:24:22

Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton; much rain forecast for later today. Was up really early as expecting the engineer to come and service the gas boiler at some time this morning. Door bell rang at 7.45 and he is busy at work now, with the boiler in bits!

Managed the health walk - nearly 3 miles - yesterday without rain, thank goodness, but it was very windy, as it is today. I am thankful my fences have been fixed.

Main meal at lunchtime today, as it is wine club tonight. It is the other side of town, so DS-in-law will pick me up on his way home from work to go to theirs. Then he will give DD and me a lift to and from the venue in the evening. I'll be staying at DD's overnight.

Thinking of Urms and her DH, and hoping that the scan results are what they want. Went through all that with my DH,

Wishing all a good day - must go and stop the cats supervising the gas man!

luluaugust Wed 20-Sept-23 08:24:33

Happy birthday 🎂 NannyJan!

Jaxjacky Wed 20-Sept-23 08:25:41

Morning from a blustery S Hants, rain due later.
Best wishes for your sister’s appointment WW.
Happy actual birthday NannyJan 🎂🎉🎈
I think any walk today will have to be this morning before the deluge, I’ve a friend to call for a catch up and some clothes to sort out. Anything that hasn’t been worn for the last two years is going.

Good morning everyone from a damp and dull north Kent. Rain given for later.

Spent yesterday morning in town after dropping DH’s car into the garage for its annual service and taking advantage of their shuttle bus into the town centre. Wanted a new ipad, but had to order one as none in stock. Had a wander in M & S which was like brushwood city with little on display and fewer assistants visible. Hardly surprising that people do most of their shopping online.

Happy birthday NannyJan and enjoy your holiday. Ash that hip sounds painful; like others think you should have it xrayed.

Urms often think about you and your DH; thoughts and good wishes to you both for the coming days.

Will spend today being a domestic goddess long enough to move the dust and wake up the hoover from his slumbers then I might start a new watercolour painting.

Hope you all have a good day

I love it Grandmattie !
Was it gift wrapped though? grin
Good morning all from N Bucks where it is getting brighter but very blustery. Next doors scaffolding poles are in the process of arriving so oh dear I can’t get my car out I’ll have to stay in bed with a second mug of tea. ☕️ 😥😥
Quiet morning then, Film Studies this afternoon, where we are discussing “Going in Style” and tonight I am going to the streaming of Rheingold at our local art house cinema with friends. Just hope I stay awake as I am world champion at nodding off in films - so embarrassing.
With kind thoughts especially to all in pain or with worries.
