Good morning, it’s a very chilly start here in south Gloucestershire, there’s ice on the cars.
I fancy taking the dog to Westonbirt this morning for a walk, with a hot chocolate to warm up afterwards in the cafe perhaps? Not too sure what the roads are like.
I hope the sun shines today!

Good morning from a cold Bristol.
One of my night storage heaters decided to stop working. We are deemed to gaga and unreliable to have gas CH. It is new but its computer needs rebooting every 4-8 days. I could have done without this problem in the freezing cold yesterday.
Apart from a spot of shopping in town yesterday, I had a quiet day pottering.
Today, Spanish homework, some administration and the book group in the afternoon. I wonder how my choice of a Mary Wesley book will go down. It is charming, an easy read and unchallenging, but not “chick lit”.
I hope everyone stays safe and warm today. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning all from another dry day in north Wales where the chamberpot ☕️ is already in use 😂

Yesterday’s sadness has been an eye opener for me as not a lot affects my 😴 but it was lovely to see my friend and her brothers reminiscing about their mum 🥰 and it’s a reminder that we should cherish our parents while we can ( I have a tendency to moan about my dad’s ‘foibles’ instead of being grateful that I still have him around at nearly 90)

Today will be spent catching up with all your bizzinesses and hope for a good day for all x

Good morning from a cold and dry s somerset, lots of sun today

I have set my living room to rights again, having finished the bag I was working on. I am enjoying my new-found hobby.

I did some baking, made crumbles and cleaned my oven

Today is going to be a not-doing-much day, I want to get on with my knitting and finish sleeve one. I will change my bedding and bottom the bedroom and give the kitchen floor a once-over, all before lunch as then is when I do anything remotely concerned with housework. I still regard after lunch as my peaceful hobby and relaxation time

Have a good day

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I have just peeked out of the window and all is white. I think heavy frost rather than snow. We are supposed to go to Reading today and buy me a new mattress. My memory mattress has always caused me back and hip ache. When I sleep elsewhere this doesn’t happen.
This evening is the Local History Society. Just a five minute walk away. I can’t remember the topic but hope it’s better than last time when the speaker talked for two hours (it is supposed to be forty five minutes and then questions) and the audience were willing him to stop!
Have a good day. It should be spring soon. I spotted green shoots in the garden yesterday.

Good morning all it’s to be very cold , windy with wintry showers today here on the east coast of Fife. I’ll be doing lots of indoor tasks such as cleaning and tidying my kitchen cupboards which is long overdue . The house will be nice and tidy for my influx of family coming to visit.

Have a good day my friends keep safe and warm , 💐

HelterSkelter1 Wed 10-Jan-24 06:58:47

Good morning. Cold here but no sign of flooding so far in our immediate area although the riverside hotel was rowing staff to and from work yesterday and the riverside main road closed and under water.

Karmalady. Please what is "bottoming the bedroom". It sounds very efficient and maybe I do it without knowing!

Hair cut this morning. Thank goodness. My lovely lady comes to the house but broke her wrist many weeks back. My hair has the lockdown look.
Keep warm everyone.

Good morning all from a slightly less chilly North Leicestershire.

Our cleaners will be here at 8.45 by which time DH will have already have left for the gym.

I have little planned today but I am sure something will occur.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Bellasnana Wed 10-Jan-24 07:01:21

Good morning from Malta where it looks like a bright day, temp around 16°C.

My usual day babysitting, one twin still sleeping, other one changed, dressed and breakfasted. They fill my heart with so much love it could burst!💙💙

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

fancythat Wed 10-Jan-24 07:15:50

Aw Bellasnana.

Still below freezing most of the time, down South.
Mornings are worst. Not that much better midday.

I have to go out this afternoon. Hoping, like other days recently, it wont be as bad at that time of day.

Good morning from a chilly and windy Torbay. The weather seems to have forgotten that this is The English Riviera!

Yesterday, I helped the Props team strip and take down the four Christmas trees from around our theatre. It was a relief to be in a warmer part of the building and to have the chance to interact with some of our patrons who called in the Box Office as we pursued our task. Not everyone books tickets online.

My field of vision result at the optician had improved so I can continue to drive, at least until I undergo further investigations at the hospital, for which I’m awaiting an appointment.

It sounds like the funeral was a fitting tribute to your friend's mother with food for thought, Pantglass.
I’m glad your family gathering was so enjoyable, Taichinan.

Happy hump day! 🦩🥰❄️💐🦩

Pittcity Wed 10-Jan-24 07:20:48

Good morning from Colchester. We are forecast another cold, sunny day. My favourite type of weather.
I'll wrap up for the short walk across the park to pick up a couple of bits on the High Street before warming up at the regular Wednesday morning coffee meetup.
Love to all 🦩 x

Georgesgran Wed 10-Jan-24 07:22:38

Good morning from Durham, where it’s raining again! A friend text last night that both she and an acquaintance are having urgent tests for cancer, which has shocked me.
Bottoming a room is giving it a damned good cleaning, which is what I intend to do in my study and downstairs loo today. I did the family room yesterday, not very enthusiastically, I have to add.
Hoping to hear better news of some poorlies here later.
Best wishes to all. X

NanKate Wed 10-Jan-24 07:24:36

Good morning Mick and All from a very cold South Bucks.

Going to see my lovely Podiatrist this morning, then a bit of shopping before scuttling back home to the warm.

Back to my 2024 To Do list 😏

brook2704 Wed 10-Jan-24 07:26:24

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another very cold and frosty start to the day,
Good news about your test Ash hope all is fine when you get your hospital appointment through too
I’m off to the gym this morning and then looking forward picking DGD up from school later for her regular Wednesday sleepover.
Enjoy your day with your twin DGSs Bellasnana so lovely for you all
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from chilly South Lanarkshire.

I had a lovely long dog walk yesterday afternoon then spent hours trying to find somewhere for us to stay for one night on our way to the holiday home which DD has booked for a week in the summer. Not easy finding a place for eight people and two dogs. The search continues.

Yoga this morning then coffee with a few of the other attendees.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 10-Jan-24 07:30:54

Good morning from a freezing South Downs. All the wildlife are hungry - need the energy to keep warm, so I’m keeping everything topped up for them. Suet is very popular at the moment.

Meeting an ex-work colleague for lunch today - although as we’ve been retired for nearly 20 years ex-work doesn’t seem appropriate any more, but we still have actual work colleagues we see as well🙂.

Garden work has stopped as it is too cold, hopefully will start again in a week or so when it is forecast to be milder.

Peace and harmony to all

monk08 Wed 10-Jan-24 07:31:53

Good morning all from the Black country, still dark out so don't know what the weather is doing although it's dry.
DH has a doctor appointment this morning regarding his gout.
Nothing else planned I do have another bag for the charity shop that needs to be taken round but no rush.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed may you all find some ☀️.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 10-Jan-24 07:42:45

Thank you Georgesgran. Now I know. It's not something I do very often..but should do.

cornergran Wed 10-Jan-24 07:43:22

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is forecast a sunny if very cold day with a biting wind which was certainly very unpleasant yesterday.

A quiet morning was followed by a trip to begun the process for a new carpet and an extremely cold and windy walk to the bus after dropping the car at the garage. With luck a reverse bus ride and walk to collect it this afternoon, may not be until tomorrow though.

Our bus back was a single not the usual double decker and seemed bursting with school/college students. We were hugely impressed, several immediately left their seats to cram into the rear seating with their friends and allow more mature people to sit down. All accomplished with cheerful smiles and good humour on their part. Sadly not all adults had the grace to thank them. Makes you think.

You must be relieved ash, pleased for you and hope improvement continues.

Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

luluaugust Wed 10-Jan-24 07:46:00

Good morning from a crisp W Kent. We had an enjoyable time at U3A yesterday with a speaker talking about baby boomers in a very amusing way. My tea duties went well mainly because we had about 10 people on duty.
Today I am off to have elevenses with DDIL who is nearly through her radiotherapy. I don’t usually drive but looking forward to the country drive.
gM I hope your heater is soon fixed
Ash glad to hear some progress with your eyes.
Best wishes to all

Liberty Wed 10-Jan-24 07:50:18

Good morning from a very cold Suffolk where I’m hoping we’ll have the glorious sun we enjoyed all day yesterday.

My keep fit classes restart today after which I’ll no doubt enjoy coffee with a few of the friends I’ve made there. I think I might also have a walk,no doubt brief if there is wind like yesterday along the promenade.

Thinking of those with worries about loved ones.

Grammaretto Wed 10-Jan-24 07:55:30

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still dark but not quite as cold.

I finished my pottery making yesterday and put the kiln on overnight. Met my df in the arts café for lunch to warm up and admired the art exhibition.
A bit of shopping and cooking. Watched some documentaries whilst knitting and wrapped in 2 blankets. 🥶
Yarn group this morning and trying to book a weekend away online. I struggle with these things. Good luck Baubles

Bellasnana such a joy!
Ash I am glad your tests were ok.
Pantglas the funeral sounds very fitting.
My thoughts are with all those with real struggles. Hoping everyone finds something good today.

ginny Wed 10-Jan-24 07:56:35

Good morning all.
I shall be off in 10 minutes for hopefully my last appointment re. my hip. All seems well in general but consultant wants to check that the h bruising that was being slow to disappear has now gone down to his satisfaction.

I shall come home straight after , 20 minute drive to do a few jobs.

WI knitting group this after. We shall be starting a new project.

Haven’t read through yet so will come back later.
