and come and finish off all the half eaten boxes of chocolates and sweets.

There are Matchsticks, Thorntons, Hotel Chocolate Gingerbread chocolates, jelly babies, Elizabeth Shaw mints, sour kittens and a trifle bowl full of mixed Heroes type things.

I have managed to keep my weight steady over the Christmas period but.......

I'll definitely have the Thorntons 😋

I was going to suggest foodbank too. We have a collection point in our church porch and its very convenient to dispose of the unwanted “ treats” as well as more everyday items.

Any unopened boxes may be appreciated by a food bank or a day centre. We never buy any so finishing them up not a problem. We were given 1;tub of quality street that I was going to re-home but my diabetic hubby munched the whole lot on 2 days, which is why I was going to re-home them.n

My local Slimming World group collected up unopened chocolates etc from members and passed them to the local food bank. I'm ashamed to say I had nothing left in my house to contribute (as the scales testified grin)

We had lots of lovely 😍 Lindt chocs. So on an
afternoon we have one each with our tea/coffee. We really look forward to tea break and it has become a pleasrable treat which will last us past Easter.flowers

I was pleased when we finally finished off all the Christmas goodies including a second stash that had been out of sight. Guess what, three times when DH has been taken to the shops he’s managed to find “the last box” of cherry liqueurs.
Obviously a husband to cherish but not at all good for getting back to healthier eating.
Hopefully they will be sold out soon.

It'll be Valentine's soon, then Easter. And yet more chocolates and cherry liqueurs! 🤣

I’m outside !!😂😂😂

Shill29 Sun 21-Jan-24 12:13:26

I’ll join the queue!

I discovered a box of turkish delight I'd bought to give someone for Christmas, yesterday, and had forgotten about it. Now all devoured - but I'd happily help anyone else out with unwanted/surplus christmas chocolates!! My usband and I both had covid over Christmas, so we are now making up for lost time............................

I have a large bag of goodies in spare room that I am trying to find a home for. 2 boxes of shortbread, box of biscuits. 3 large size tubes of smarties there was five of them but I have eaten two myself, box black magic, large bag of Little Elf biscuits. In living room 1 box of turkish delight and box of after eight mints. One set of grandchildren keep asking me to come to their house they know I always have sweets and chocolate but must be careful as they get crazy sugar rush when they have too much and are then jumping all over the furniture so I don't want to upset their mum.

Smurf52 Sun 21-Jan-24 13:29:07

Turkish delight and anything else please 😀

Titian1948 Sun 21-Jan-24 13:38:34

Put them on your local Freegle or Trashnothing, and they'll go to a happy home.

CyberNan Sun 21-Jan-24 13:55:04

Well done you for keeping your weight steady through Christmas. With that amount of temptation I would have taken a nose dive well before New Year smile

Exactly what I was thinking!
There’d be no chance of them lasting for any length of time here!

Grannybags

I’ve somehow managed to put on more weight after Christmas than over the festive period!

Such hard work finishing off all the chocs and cake so I can start my diet…😂

Me too! On both counts! 😂😂

silverlining48 Sun 21-Jan-24 14:47:12

With you there granny bags and damask. There is a need to finish a small Christmas cake before I can seriously consider starting mine. Once i have hoovered it all up then I begin.
Tea and cake later, it’s dh birthday. Celebrate 🥳

Sarahr Sun 21-Jan-24 15:14:05

We'll be with you shortly.

Livey Sun 21-Jan-24 16:54:11

Pick me up on the way please !

rubysong Sun 21-Jan-24 18:29:54

I've met some fierce cats in my time but I don't think I've ever come across sour kittens! What are they? (We live a very quiet life here.)

Tish Sun 21-Jan-24 19:41:29

Heroes and jelly babies for me please.🙏🏻

Jaxjacky Sun 21-Jan-24 20:47:12

We’ve got an unopened tin of Heroes and half a pack of Matchmakers left from Christmas. I’m not fussed about chocolate and MrJ will have a couple of sweets once a week maybe. They might be finished by Easter.
