I went into the garden at 8 yesterday and finished at 1.30. Strenuous work and aches to prove it. Makes me realise how much of a gap I have now that my house is finished so I am now on the local allotment list. That is the missing link and has been since I moved from my last house and allotment.

Uphill cycling today and various house bits and bobs as they appear. I hope I can do the hill without creasing myself

Good morning Mick from Lyme Regis, I’m up at the crack of dawn because MrOops spilt his glass of water and when I put the light on, well, it didn’t come on, no power, but the garden lights were on, stumbled down the stairs to find power on downstairs so all food in freezer is safe. phew. But wide awake now.
Lovely house,so big you can’t find anyone and so very hot! All rads have been turned down and windows opened.
Can’t all go out today anyway because MissOops has lost the front door key, we’ve piled stuff up in front of the door so if anyone tries to get in the dog will hear it and wake us all up. Another search will be done today, as she said. ‘ they are here somewhere’ ( not helpful) she also lost her phone in one of the many rooms but we found it after hours of searching and ringing it.
Great evening with the family plus our Niece, her OH and our great Nephew, he brought a Virtual Reality game in which he has a headset with goggles 2 things in his hands and he reacts to whatever he is seeing on his headpiece, so lots of waving his arms around, funny to watch him, although he nearly bought the lights down from the ceiling at one point.
Daughter and niece in the games room doing a jigsaw, MrOops and nieces OH watching football, me and nephew chatting and talking dog out in grounds for a walk.
Nice end to a good day.
The rest of the family are due at lunchtime, so a busy day today.

Good morning from a dark, but dry Torbay.

The concert last night (Plymouth Military Wives’ Choir) was wonderful! They were as delighted to be in our theatre as we were to have them and it was almost a full house. We hope to book them to come again in the future.

Church this morning then I shall have to visit Lidl, although I don’t like to do shopping on a Sunday. I should’ve gone yesterday but I awoke with a very stiff neck and knew that carrying heavy bags would not be an option.

Good morning from Cornwall where it's calm and mild on my patio. My son and grandson are coming for spag bol and to watch a film this evening, probably an animation of some sort as we all love them. Before that I'll wend my way to the harbour and breathe in some sea air.

I still am pooped after a very long day of food preparation and serving yesterday. The ceildh went well, with the haggises piped in, the dancers dancing, the food was delicious apparently. I ate before going out again; I couldn’t have lasted until that late.
The vicar horrified me by saying he was planning a St. Patrick’s Day party. I told him that it would be during Lent (it really doesn’t bother me) but that would give no time to prepare. I suggested St. George’s Day; no chance of getting muddled with Easter, etc., and better preparation time.
Quiet day today, but I’m going this evening to listen to DD1 sing with the Youth Choir at the opening day of music of the newly refurbished and renamed Beacon.

Good morning from Malta where we have another day of sunshine and 18°C.

Thank you Ash, Susan56 and Marydoll for your kind words yesterday. I did go over to help give little one his inhaler. DD3 says it’s like wrangling a crocodile!😄. His paediatrician also prescribed steroids for him delivered via a suppository, but we accomplished that easily and he certainly seems slightly less wheezy.

They all came with me to meet our friends who are over from the UK. We sat out at a lovely play park which has a nice cafè attached so being out in the fresh air did everyone good.

I’m awaiting the men’s final from Australia, still in my pj’s which is most unlike me, but with the house still upside down waiting for the decorator to finish I have no motivation to try to make order out of chaos.

What a wonderful collection of your DD’s knitting, Baggs. I’m sure you will be able to find good homes for it all.

Blossoming, how are you feeling today? It is miserable being unwell during the night. It always feels ten times worse.💐

I plan a lazy day girding my loins for a new week of babysitting. It’s not being with the boys I find tiring, it’s the getting up at crack of dawn! I’ve never been good at it.😴

Good morning, a dry, calm start here in south Glos, yesterday I had to scrape the ice off the car windscreen before taking the dog out. She and I had a lovely walk from the next village, somewhat muddy in places but very relaxing. There are signs of spring so my spirit was lifted and the dog loved meeting others en route.
DH was being somewhat annoying before we left so I was glad he spent the morning out somewhere too!
Today I want to do another walk in the opposite direction, perhaps with a coffee from the village on the way.

We had a long but enjoyable day yesterday with family.Four year old H won the bowling much to the annoyance of his big sister and cousin.

The children will probably be collected at lunchtime and I think once we have tidied up we will relax/snooze.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. No idea what the weather is like.
No church today as our daughter is here and I’ll be making her favourite roast chicken and all the trimmings for lunch. Possibly chocolate soufflé for pudding.
She is off to Malaysia on holiday next weekend so has been printing various bits of info off on my printer!

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks dry with light cloud.

Not much on the agenda here today. A long day yesterday has left us both weary so a rest it will be although we really must decide what to do with some vouchers rapidly running out of date. That will be enough I suspect.

Thinking of everyone with worries. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Good morning from a quiet South Downs -although the seagulls are shouting their morning greetings. It is forecast full sun all day so out into the garden I go to make further inroads to the rockery scree garden - after completely emptying fridge, taking out shelves etc and then a thorough clean.

I overdid it yesterday moving a very heavy (all wool) rug 18x16 - I should really have asked for assistance from DH but he was wood carving and I didn’t want to disturb him. Never mind it is done now.

I have a friend (since school) in Canada and I’m giving her help with her sister (near me) who has recently had a stroke but is ultra independent which is very laudable until she had a fall and was on the floor for 2 days - ended up in hospital with delirium -lack of fluids. We are trying to persuade her to get an alarm to wear as well as other stuff to make her life more comfortable but blimey she is stubborn - which is good but exasperating!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is just rising in South Yorkshire and it promises to be a lovely day, but cold. Yesterday I cleaned the inside of my car and was thoroughly ashamed of myself for letting it get into such a state. My footwell was full of leaf litter, mud and stones which is odd because I always change out of walking boots and shoes before I drive. Anyway it is now pristine which is just as well as DS is coming down to spend the day with me and I am taking him to lunch at the pub at the bottom of our valley. It’s not often I have him to myself. I expect we’ll get a walk in after lunch. Have the best day you can, folks.

Yesterday I had a notion to reorganise the furniture in the living room so roped DH in to help. I’m please with the result so will leave it be now, probably for another five years which is how long it’s been since I last moved things.

Sitting with three out of four grandchildren last night was fun. One was at a sleepover, the youngest went to bed at eight and the older two stayed up late amusing us with their chat.

Mass this morning the I really must do a little ironing before I do my hour for the garden birdwatch which I didn’t get around to yesterday.

grandMattie, we traditionally regarded St Patrick’s day as a ‘day off’ from Lenten sacrifices and discipline! Perhaps your vicar has a similar background 😊?

Good morning from N Bucks where it is very still and I hope stays mild. D3, SIL and the 2 littlest fellas are coming up from London for the day and it would be nice to get them out to the playground on their bikes/scooters .
Fish pie for us grown ups and either fish fingers or sausages for the boys.
After I’ve had my TIB I’m going to make some “Bluey” cupcakes!

Good morning from Durham, cold but dry and windy - perfect drying weather. A full-on afternoon with DGS2 at the Baltic yesterday. I was in bed before midnight - an early night for me - then awake from 3.30am. I feel a bit ‘bunged up’.
I’m continuing the decluttering today and have a plan for some big items I want to give away. Must order flowers for an old friend in Leicestershire too.

Good morning from a bright and already sunny Suffolk.

We think another walk on the Common with coffee and cake in the dog friendly cafe there is the plan for today.

I had a lovely phone call from youngest DGD,age 6, yesterday to ask us to go and see her dance show in May when she is in 3 dances. When I said we’d love to go,DD said she was grinning from ear to ear. They live in Hessle so a 5 hour journey but no matter. We’ve done many journeys of that length to see the Bristol tribe in similar activities over the years. It is at such times that we wish we all lived nearer.
Thinking of those with troubles and hoping today brings some comfort.
