Good news that Catherine is being seen again since her operation with a lovely family photo taken last week for Mother’s Day. Yes it’s the DM.

What a preposterous fuss about nothing - this isn't a photo being used in evidence for legal proceedings, and if the Princess of Wales has tinkered with the photo to improve it, does that pass the 'So what' test? I think it does.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I don’t think she’ll do it again! 🙄

Ridiculous fuss about nothing, and adding to the stress the poor woman must be having while she recovers.

It’s possible that she thought the photo might put an end to the intrusive questions about her health and her operation.
IMO, Bad move on her part, but the constant nosiness disguised as concern is equally unacceptable.

I agree Mollygo but the Princess has been let down by her advisors over this.
I think the Prince & Princess have tried too hard to keep her illness under wraps and this has only increased speculation,
The King has handled things in a much more open and acceptable way.

This photo is wrong in so many ways and has been withdrawn. Catherine admitted to editing it. However, did she also edit out her wedding and engagement ring no one seems to have commented on as they are missing. Very dishonest of them trying to dupe us all into believing she is up and about. Do they think we are all fools.

Anniebach Mon 11-Mar-24 14:28:57

Does wearing a wedding band prove one is up and about, when
was it said she was or was not up and about. May I suggest you read posts and many comments on her wedding band

Mollygo Mon 11-Mar-24 14:29:15

We don’t know if the PoW is up and about. Why should we? It isn’t anyone else’s business unless she decides to share it.

If the operation was a success but recovery was taking a while, there’d be comments in the media about how the RF can afford to have a longer recuperation.
I doubt they think we’re all fools-nosy, yes, intrusive, yes but not fools.

Faith has nothing to do with it, a woman has surgery, doesn’t wish for details to be made public, media and some people in a frenzy, we demand to know all , a woman doesn’t wear her wedding band shock horror.

I see a woman being attacked for not dancing to the media tune, I say the same of any woman so please put your attempt
at mocking me away

Ok Annie, whatever you say. Your argument would be more credible if you actually read my posts instead of furiously misinterpreting them, but you know what, lets agree to disagree, because frankly, I don't really care! Have a nice day, and perhaps a nice brew and [cake]

Callistemon21 Mon 11-Mar-24 14:34:10

Well, shock horror!

We have professional photographers in the family and all photos are edited now.

Oh for the days when you took photos and either sent the film off or took it to Boots to be developed and hoped the photos turned out ok and not blurred or heads cut off.

Why can't the press just say it's a lovely photo which it is . Why analysis it ?

I remember those days, Boots wrecked the two films I took of DD when she was a baby, so we had none of her early weeks.

Nightsky2 Mon 11-Mar-24 14:41:27

What an overreaction.

Anniebach Mon 11-Mar-24 14:50:45

Seems it’s a disaster and playing into the hands of the republic !

DrWatson Mon 11-Mar-24 15:03:23

For HousePlant, you essentially mocked yourself. FIRST you say "I think that whatever the health issue is, it is a private matter.". THEN you refer to "compare the PR machines of Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace. BP issued a statement about the King's health, and all wished him well and appreciated his openness and subsequent light duties.".

SO -- you like privacy, but like the more open approach too?

I gather it's a tradition now for Catherine to release a nice family pic on that Sunday (I hadn't noticed). What did she do, add on those hands to make them look more together?? Oh, Lord (the Lords of other faiths are probably available too . . .), shock horror, the planet could stop spinning.

Oh, and did someone mention the Press have strict rules? Didn't stop the Mail publishing some vile twaddle about the recently deceased Hairy Biker, did it? (etc etc).

vivvq Mon 11-Mar-24 15:09:52

I immediately thought the photo was "wrong" when I saw it yesterday. The PoW must have very long arms. There is just something not right about the positioning of her hands. I think this goes further than a bit of amateur editing. If it was meant to dampen down media speculation about Catherine's health, it has done the opposite. This looks like an old photo of Catherine superimposed on a current photo of the children.

AmberSpyglass Mon 11-Mar-24 15:13:05

So should the AP and Reuters just pass off photoshopped images without question now? What if it was a photograph of a protest or a war zone? It doesn’t matter why it was done, it matters that it contravenes the standards of these particular organisations and so they couldn’t run or distribute them.

Mollygo Mon 11-Mar-24 15:20:08

AmberSpyglass
No they shouldn’t pass on pictures that represent or imply something that is not true, whatever the situation.

sazz1 Mon 11-Mar-24 15:23:26

I'm convinced several photos were put together to make this one. It really doesn't look at all
natural to me. Why it was done that way idk but the fact she's admitted editing it seems very dishonest of a royal family member

Anniebach Mon 11-Mar-24 15:23:58

What did the photograph of Catherine and her children imply

NotSpaghetti Mon 11-Mar-24 15:32:05

Not sure they would be if for publication Callistemon21 - not beyond what is permitted.
Obviously personal may be edited (eg, my daughter had the clasp edited out of

NotSpaghetti Mon 11-Mar-24 15:32:55

a close up when her necklace had slipped round on her wedding day).

AmberSpyglass Mon 11-Mar-24 15:33:02

Anniebach It’s being presented as a single photograph that was taken on a specific date, when actually it looks like it’s a composite of images from at least one other date and possibly manipulated with AI. This in itself isn’t important - it’s just a PR exercise for a celebrity that backfired - but if AP etc let that go without recalling it, what’s the argument stopping them letting another picture that has been similarly edited but with much bigger ramifications?

AmberSpyglass Mon 11-Mar-24 15:33:18

*go out

NotSpaghetti Mon 11-Mar-24 15:36:04

Their team have said they won't release the original, apparently.

Anniebach Mon 11-Mar-24 15:38:01

A celebrity! Explains much
