Just that. Nat king Cole came on my play list just now singing that song and I've always known which day I would choose. The day I met my future husband. What day would you choose?

I would like to go back about 6 weeks, on a Sunday and find out the truth about our dear friend and how sick she really was back then. I would have liked to have been able to hug her and have a dignified good bye together. She is close to gone now and we shall never see her again.

Thats an interesting idea Polly, a floating one. Some bad things float around in my head. Try to keep them at bay but I don't think they will ever disappear.

Just any day from the 54 years of marriage to my late DH. We had a very loving marriage and always said "I love you" before holding hands as we fell asleep.
Two and a half years on I still long for that touch and Nat King Cole makes me cry, DH loved his songs.

Lovesbach - we all made our decisions based on what we knew at the time, and thought that what we each chose was the best way to go

This is so true. I think we need to trust that whenever we make a choice we choose what we think is best based on the information, expertise and experience we have at the time. I know we may later know it was not as good a choice as it seemed at the time but to repeatedly punish ourselves must surely be damaging. I try to accept what cannot be changed and "forgive" my mistakes. I know I (and others) would never set out to make stupid choices so do my best to accept the errors and put them behind me.

I'm also of the school of thought that the great highs of life are only truly measurable against the lowest lows. I am grateful that I have survived the lowest low points and been lucky enough to have enjoyed the highs.

I feel truly blessed.

I know the day and would love to change my choice I was too young to make that decision.

Me too! I can’t envisage a day when I won’t be longing to have my DH back

To spend one last day with my daughter , who passed away nearly a year ago, although she had ill health all her life, she died as the result of an accident. I am still trying to come to terms with it.

This day 51 years ago I met my first husband so I'd go back to yesterday 51 years ago and cancel my plans and stay home! But then I'd have missed out on some very good things that happened much later and no thanks to the ex grin

Not sure I could choose just one. But the day dd phoned and sent a photo of her 8 week scan of first baby, after two miscarriages, inc. the 2nd where scan had revealed ‘no heartbeat’ would have to be high on the list.

Apart from yearning for all the past years back, I'd probably choose a normal type day.
Perhaps one where my daughter gave me a "backy" on her bike, and we both fell off through laughing so much, when she was about 8 or 9.
Or, just lying on the sofa together, chatting and laughing.
