Oops! A little late today, so with 44 posts to read I thought I'd better post before I read.
So good morning from a grey skied, intermittently sunny Angus coast - where there is no wind or rain!!! Oh what a joy.
Yesterday was a lovely day (apart from the wind, that is) with lots of family communication one way or another. I love delving into their lives for little tasters. DGD3 had got her Baking Queen mojo back and facetimed me to show me she had made a lemon meringue roulade which looked lovely and obviously was as tasty as it looked because little bits of it were disappearing as we chatted ๐Ÿ˜‰. Then came a phone call from DS2 who was stuck in traffic on his way home from work and needed a distraction. And in between times there were WhatsApps with DD, DS2 (in Frankfurt for the weekend) and messages from Dancing GD's friend who has just landed a new job. I may live 'out in the sticks' a bit, but modern day communication brings us all so close, doesn't it.
Today will be a catching-up on household tasks and a blether with Lovely Gardener and a conversation with the fish in the pond if the wind stays away
I hope you all have a pleasant day and all those aches and pains and bugs of all sorts stay under control. Take care x

I expect you already know the family run Villa Romana on Wood St Hollysteers. That's our favourite Italian. So many city centre restaurants nowadays are chains & often uninspiring. Love that Villa R still has a dessert trolley.

Good morning from sunny West Sussex by the sea.

Happy birthday BlueSapphire

The Sutton Hoo build sounds interesting, Liberty. I will add it to my list of trips to do in the campervan ๐Ÿ™‚

How lovely for your BiL to receive a long chatty letter from you, Hollysteers. I have a friend who writes letters to people living with cancer for the From Me to You charity www.frommetoyouletters.co.uk

We didnโ€™t get to the allotment yesterday as DH had a sudden attack of vertigo. He is ok today but tired so weโ€™ll maybe just have a look over to how things are doing after our time away in Scotland. We have lots of seedlings to nurture on windowsills and tables at home.

Enjoy the sunshine all who have it ๐ŸŒŸ

Good morning from a sunny but nippy East Midlands. A day working in the back garden. Just made an apple pie for later. Good health and happiness to everyone. Life is hard.

Just popping back in, now that I have read all the posts. What a fascinating account of your visit to the Sutton Hoo re-build, Liberty. I never cease to wonder at the abilities and ingenuity of people that we tend to look down on from this technological age as 'primitive'.
Happy Birthday to Bluesapphire ๐ŸŽ‚. Enjoy your day amid the Mediterranean sunshine.
Purplepixie so sorry your finding life so hard at the moment. It's so difficult, when you're feeling so low, to understand that this too shall pass and the sun really will shine in your life again. Stay strong ๐Ÿฆ‹flowers

Also meant to say what a beautiful cushion grandmattie - you are such a talented lady.

I am reading 'The Heart's Invisible Furies' by John Boyne, the fictional tale of a young illegitimate boy adopted into a wealthy family in southern Ireland just after the War. It was a book club read last year on our local radio station, and had really good reviews. I am enjoying it so far.

BlueSapphire Sat 20-Apr-24 13:49:10

Don't know why that book post is on this.thread! Thought I was posting on the book forum! Sorry!

Good afternoon,

Itโ€™s a bright and breezy day here today. Still very chilly, too cold to stay long in the garden, though I did manage a few small jobs, before I got too cold. I wish the weather would start to warm up a bit, or at least that the wind would die down.

Happy birthday BlueSapphire ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‚.

Welcome, Babysitter.

Happy Birthday BlueSapphire. Treat yourself to a glass (or 2) of champagne. Itโ€™s not bad on the Saga ships. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of Prosecco as itโ€™s too sweet for my taste. Wish they did Cava. ๐Ÿฅ‚
