Good Morning Everyone ,
Its light but grey sky's and raining here in brackley this morning.
Had letters as regards my glaucoma , I am supposed to take two lots of eye drops ,one twice a day in both eyes the other at night in both eyes I think I use it scarlessly with the amount of ml per bottle , think I need a double supply of eye drops each 28 days for it to work , and that on top of recovering with bowel cancer .
Today usual day trip to Bicester , hopefully see friends and also have a coffee .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Tuesday 14th May 2024
(66 Posts)Good morning from an overcast Bristol. Rain threatened again today.
The toddler group seemed to have been better attended than normal yesterday; there were some 36 adults, most of whom had two offspring, some minders came with 4. This made at least 90 people there. The noise was fierce although none of the children were screaming, just general babble. One little boy kept on telling me it was too noisy for him!
In the afternoon we had the OAP film. For some reason, the hap who usually works the pc wasn’t there and it took about 40 minutes to find someone who just might know how to work it. Eventually a smaller screen with its own pc was wheeled in…. All fun and games. The film was rather silly “Love Sarah”.
I shan’t go to outdoor tai chi. It’s a long walk, and will be drizzling. I’ll go to the local garden shop and get myself a few more plants for my pots.
May today be kind to you. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from a cloudy, dreary Southampton as Borealis heads into port at the end of our UK cruise. We were most fortunate to see blue skies throughout our week long trip.
Yesterday, we enjoyed attending an interview with the Captain, who told us about his life at sea. Later, the entertainment team conducted a backstage tour which was ideal for me whilst DH was able to learn about reading charts at sea.
Mick: try to persevere with your eye drops and I expect you’ll get into the routine. I find that, although the bottles are small, they last a surprising length of time.
We shall disembark soon after breakfast..Hope everyone is well. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from what promises to be a very wet South Yorkshire today. Ah well, it will refill the water butt. Yesterday I went to the garden centre thinking it would be quiet as it usually is at the beginning of the week. It was heaving! Long queues at the cafeteria so no hope of a quick coffee, and long queues at the tills. I got the plants I wanted though, and it was a nice drive there and back. Kitchen cleaning this morning, and a volunteer session this afternoon.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from s somerset, showery today
I have just been outside to manhandle two sodden growbags, I had them in large trays on the patio but they are soaked. I pulled them out, upturned the trays and put them on the other side and I poked more holes in the bases, better doing this now while the plants are small
Perfect weather to wear my hand made hooded coat/jacket yesterday, it needed some tweaks to the pattern. Nice and useful, warm and rainproof so it will be very wearable but I have ordered the fabric to make a perfect-fit in a different colour. It took me 5 hours to alter and cut the new pattern to allow for `getting older` changes to my shape. That was a nice project on a thoroughly wet day
I am off out today, driving and may well be back by lunchtime
Have a good day
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and cloudy. Rain is forecast for much of the day. GrandMattie the toddler group sounds too much! Ash safe journey home.
Yesterday was a hard shift. Dgs2 woke from his nap in a terrible mood which continued most of the afternoon. He behaved very badly and only settled for the last half hour before his mum picked him up. I could have handled things better too.
Today will be more of the same, minus the bad moods, I hope! Have a good day all.
Morning Mick, morning All from a damp and dreary corner of Somerset.
Unlike greyd we found our garden centre was quiet yesterday afternoon, three ‘filler’ plants for tubs obtained we enjoyed a cuppa while resisting the cakes. Polish halo time. . All a reward for hard work in the morning. Battle commenced with our energy supplier and admin completed while Mr C refreshed the emulsioned walls in the conservatory.
A bit of dust removal, before Mr C’s dental appointment then if we won’t drown will go into town for odds and ends which can wait if it’s too wet. Nothing exciting.
Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
A cooler start yesterday until the sun came out. U3A had a fabulous, partly behind the scenes, trip to Newhailes House at Musselburgh.
It's been kept as near as possible to how it was when the NTS were given it in 1997.
An eye test today and Gaelic class.
I must try to push ahead with arranging roof and ceiling repairs. I find even the thought tiring.
DGS is sitting his Highers. His parents are worried that he doesn't listen to them and prefers to go out with his friends than revise.
You have been lucky with the weather for your cruise Ash
I hope you manage the eye drops and other medication Mick.
I wouldn't be able to stand the toddler group gMattie. You are brave.
I gave up with DD when another toddler bit her, to make her give up the vehicle she had climbed on.
When I eventually found the biter's parent, she hit him across his face!
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good luck today grandmab. Hope you’re not too exhausted this evening.
Good morning all from a sunny Anstruther, where it is 11°C.
We had a lovely morning strolling round Dunfermline Abbey yesterday and then a delicious pub lunch, before driving to the cottage.
My family were extremely patient with my snail's pace.🐌 I always feel I put a damper on things, when my conditions limit what I can do.
Today is my birthday, DD has just brought me a cuppa in bed. and we will spend the day in St Andrew's. It's the bus for us, because if we move the car we won't get parked when we return. We are well prepared, DD will have her travel sickness pill and I have a sick bag, for emergencies. 😉 The roads are rather winding and narrow and last year she was rather grey when we did the same trip🤢! Fond memories not of when she was young!
DD and SIL, rather than buy something for my birthday, have suggested I look for something instead in Andrew's. My presents from DH are at home, the car was rather full 😄, but when I opened my card, money to treat myself fell out. I may leave them all in the pub and shop alone to my heart's content!
My family are here, the sun is shining and I'm in one of my favourite places, what more could I wish for?
Have a lovely day folks and prayers for all who have mountains to climb every day.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Happy birthday MD! Have a wonderful day🎂🎉🌹
I had a good day at the V&A yesterday attending a Textile Study Day. I was so exhausted when I got home that I went to bed at 9 pm.
Our new cleaning lady started and she did a good job.
Waitrose shop today and our gardener is coming this afternoon. I will be popping round to a friend’s to feed their fish - indoors and outdoors.
OH is still fretting about his bees! I don’t think he imagined being a beekeeper would be so complicated!
Have a good day!
Good morning from rainy Colchester. Just put the rubbish out for the binmen (no bins, just bags here) and it's still warm.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering. I have great fun and come home exhausted.
Happy Birthday Marydoll, enjoy the retail therapy. 🎁
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning from Shropshire.Back to rain🙄
Yesterday was a mixed day with mum.We thought she had gone downhill until we realised she didn’t have her hearing aids in🤦🏼♀️
Her eye appointment showed her eyes weren’t great but stable. The optician suggested no more appointments as they upset her and nothing can be done so to spend our time with her going out for lunch and taking her places she enjoys. We we’re all happy with that.
Today up early to look after the children. After we drop H off at lunchtime we will go out for lunch.Welsh class later.
I hope today is better Grandmabatty It’s exhausting when they aren’t their best.
Love your garden Marydoll.Happy birthday.Hope you have a lovely day🥳🎂🍾🥂
Safe onward journey Ash and olddudders.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Happy birthday dear Marydoll. Hope you have a wonderful day.💐🥂🍾🎂🥳
Good morning everyone from a very damp hillside in south Glos, hopefully a dry day today as the summerhouse is being built at long last (I have little confidence that we actually have all the components if the saga to date is anything to go by)
Dog has her walker first thing, an Ocado shop is due early and I have a few bits to do to keep me busy.
That’s a lovely back garden Marydoll, where are you staying? I hope you have a wonderful birthday, a very happy birthday to you 🥂🎂🎉🎁
Fingers crossed that everyone’s day goes well 🌹
Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy and rain is expected.
Happy birthday Marydoll. Enjoy your day.
I have a list of jobs to do today, including confirming the bits and pieces for the new shower room and finishing the charity annual report. There’s ironing to do too! And some holiday tickets to collect from the travel agent.
I tried to post pictures from Northumberland but they didn’t post. I’ll try again.
Have a good day everyone.
Last try……
Good morning all it’s going to be another warm day here on the east coast of Fife .
Once again I’ll be sitting outside having my lunch staring into my lovely back garden. Marydoll. My front view is across the Firth of Forth I’m so very lucky I’ve a view to die for, I can see the bass rock and across to Edinburgh
Have a good day my friends
Happy Birthday, Marydoll
Good morning from Menorca.
Walked too far yesterday searching for somewhere to eat - gave up and bought ‘stuff’ in a local supermarket instead. The weather is perfect though.
Happy birthday MD hope you have a lovely day.
Best wishes to all. X
Happy Birthday Mary doll! Have a lovely day !
Good morning from a grey wet S E Essex.
A very happy birthday MaryDoll 🎂🥂🎉 , enjoy your holiday with your family 🩷💙
Pleased you enjoyed your cruise Ashcombe
More pottering and sorting out bits & bobs is my plan today. I started on sorting gym wear, tops, scarves & wraps along with coats yesterday. I was inspired by a thread on GN 😱
Have a great day everyone 🙋♀️
Good morning from a wet Essex coast. Such a shame after the last few sunny days.
Happy Birthday MD, enjoy the time with your family.
I've a lot to get through today, admin, washing and ironing, bed changing. All exciting stuff
.
Wishing you all a good day xx
Good morning from rainy N Bucks and Happy Birthday Marydoll.
So envious of you spending a day at our Alma mater I hope it is a happy one for you all.
Do you know Millers Tale in Greyfriars Gardens? (Other shops are available) I love that shop and your birthday money will come in very handy!
Hope I have found a gardener who came to look yesterday. It would be a relief as I want to enjoy my garden this summer , invite friends for lunch and not feel obliged to apologise for it.
The absence of my dear friend and next door neighbour is being brought home every time I look across to her empty windows. Such a reminder of the fragile thread which keeps us here. She was so active - gardening, golf twice a week, travelling - you would never have know she had Pulmonary Fibrosis . Such a memento mori
Her family are stunned as are we all.
Won’t let myself be maudlin, though. Meeting D1 at Hotel Chocolat to collect her present for D2’s little boy who will be 8 tomorrow - I am going down to London for a birthday tea. His party in the woods around where they live on Sunday, not necessarily quite my cup of tea.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
