Brilliant news Urms I’m happy for you both, your holiday break will taste extra sweet.
Quiz was tricky and people were tetchy, we didn’t do well, but it’s good to get out, it’s still 20 here and very sticky, all windows upstairs are open.
Sleep well all.

I've popped in for a brief catch up...the manic work period has finished for now, just as it did so a friend from Surrey arrived for a visit. We've had some lovely days out...The Great Western Canal.. Hestercombe House and Gardens...Dunster..and a spa afternoon to raise money for breast cancer. I was very lucky and won the star raffle prize ...3 months platinum membership at my gym..I think it includes lots of things I'll never use but hey ho. I also won an aesthetic voucher for....I don't know what yet but I know for sure I won't be having lip fillers. My friend that is staying has had them done and it doesn't look good but I really don't want to say anything and am praying she won't ask me what I think as I'm Sagittarius and we are not known for our tact. Today we are off to Exmouth.
Urms...my heart soared when I read your news. Go enjoy every second with your darling man now that the black cloud that you've been living under has been replaced by sunshine.
Yia...Some positive news for you too and I will keep you both in my prayers that it continues that way.
Doodle... NannyG4...Sending you both a gentle hug and love as you take each day at a time.
Wishing all paid up members of the Knackered and Battered Knee Cap club a better day.
Corner...I feel for you. I was diagnosed with ME after a meningitis type virus. I had 3 children aged 6, 3 and 18 months. On my good days I tried to get fit by swimming 20 lengths only to set myself back further. It was only when I realised what I was doing did I start to get better. I also discovered that anything with white flour made it worse...bread..pasta..rice etc and oily fish like taramasalata..mackerel improved it. Once I cut out bread...and ate lots of fish. I got better but to this day I have no memory of the two years that I was ill. I once arranged to meet the friend that's staying now but totally forgot and left her standing outside BHS for an hour. ( Long before the days of mobile phones). I hope you start to feel better soon. I'm with Charley girl in that it does sound like the physio hasn't taken into account your ME...maybe you could speak to him and get a gentler more realistic regime.
Jax...lucky people in the pub to share your goodies.
Hi to everyone else I can't stop to mention you all as
I'm going to have to dive out of the kitchen now as a very large seagull has just offloaded on take off and splattered the window...I think someone must have fed it Sennakot.
Enjoy the sunshine.

Wonderful news Urms, I know what it feels like.

annsixty Tue 30-Jul-24 10:35:26

Good morning all.
A quick pop in to share the relief Urms and her family must be feeling today.
I hope that holiday is all you want it to be and it boosts your well-being for future months.

RosiesMaw2 Tue 30-Jul-24 11:28:40

You know how pleased I am for you Urmstongran - have you stopped grinning yet?
My Disney travellers came back last night having had a wonderful but exhausting weekend. How they crammed so many rides into 3 days is beyond me but they all slept very soundly last night.
They left for home half an hour ago so I might settle down to some Olympic watching now. Watching the sailing and the weather in Marseilles looks amazing.
GD2 and his school party reached Lübeck in N Germany yesterday. I know it well from the school exchanges I used to take to that part of Germany. The pic he sent me shows him looking happy.
So life settles back into a more leisurely pace - it was nice though

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 30-Jul-24 11:41:03

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 30-Jul-24 13:40:33

Hello kitchen people.
It’s been be a curates egg sort of day so far. I saw my GP this morning and she confirmed that the pea sized lump on the back of my head isn’t sinister and is merely a cyst. However, my left breast (I had stage 1 breast cancer in 2017 and a lumpectomy) has been a bit achy recently. She thinks it may be the scar tissue causing it and is sending me for a fast track (2-3 weeks) mammogram and appointment.
In a while I’m helping OH fill 80 jars with his honey!
Have a good day.

annsixty Tue 30-Jul-24 14:01:22

I hope all is well Llfl
I have had pain and infections fairly regularly since my BC op including having an op to strip the milk ducts and associated bits.
All has been ok .
I am just back from the injection of steroids into my knee.
I have to admit it was fairly pain free.
The physio at the surgery did it and she was very good.
I must now rest totally for two days, no problem there !!

I hope you’re feeling better hulahoop as each day passes.
Hot here, 30, MrJ and Fin had a truncated game of golf earlier this morning, we’ll be firing up the charcoal a little later and there are ice lollies in the freezer.
soop MrJ uses a magnesium spray to relieve leg cramp, I don’t know about RLS.
My daughter sent this picture, Imogen had just been on Hyperia, she doesn’t get that fearlessness from her Grandma!! It must be baking there, I’d be looking for the nearest air con and a cool drink.
