We've been to our little home-from-home on the Norfolk coast for the past 3 days. A nice, light sea breeze was welcome in this heatwave we are getting here in EA.
As we have no internet there, I've only just seen Urmstongran's good news, I'm relieved & so pleased for you both. It's great that you are now looking forward to spending well deserved time at your special happy place. x

annsixty, I hope you are feeling better after your overdose of sun. Is your knee injection for pain? My DH has one tomorrow for an arthritic knee, (a first for him). Luckily my TKRs are almost painfree, although the rest of me is creaky! !!

I'd also like to send hugs to those that need them.

Had bloods taken yesterday afternoon. Well-bruised as a result. Mr Soop had his dressing changed. His scalp looks like a war zone. there are new lesions forming. On Tuesday next, he will attend the Glasgow hospital in which he had the skin graft. The surgeon will then give his personal opinion on progress/or not. This morning I had to return to the dentist. A back tooth keeps losing an awkward small area of repair. The dentist says it's okay to leave well alone. For which I was delighted.

I shall be be watching Andy and Dan playing a further doubles match early this evening. So far, I have had huge fun and greatly admire their skill and tenacity on playing some brilliant tennis.

Another hot day here after overnight rain.
Yes Gillgran my steroid injection was for increasing discomfort in my right knee, stiffness, swelling and pain.
I have had the left one replaced to great success but as Iam a lot older now I am reluctant to go down that route again unless really necessary.
The injection was painless and none of the after effects I was warned could happen.
Now to see if it has worked its magic.
I hope your H is as happy with his.

Good afternoon everyone and thank you for your welcome dear Soop that news from the dentist will save a bashing your purse. Good wishes to Mr Soop it sounds like he has been through the mill.


It’s quite pleasant now after this morning downpours. That coincided with a hospital appointment. There was a road closure on our journey which caused us further problems on our return. My appointment was just a check up and I have a further two appointments booked in. Despite a wait of 8 months for this treatment I have nothing but praise for the way it has been carried out and the efficiency of the medical staff.
We had a coffee at the nearby Waitrose and I picked up a book from the take one leave one bookcase. I’ve started it this afternoon and I can see it’s one that I won’t be able to put down. It’s called The last hours in Paris by Ruth Druart.

Our son and family are due back from travels abroad today but too late for us to see them until tomorrow. I can’t wait for hugs with those grandchildren.

I’ll also be watching the tennis too. I hope I haven’t missed any whilst reading outside. I’ve enjoyed watching it. I like the 2 set and possible tie break format. 😀

I thought I’d be having a quiet day but plans changed when DD2 messaged first thing asking if DGD could come round for the day - we’ve just dropped her back home now. She’s been really good company and good as gold, so different to when she’s with her brother and they’re winding each other up 😳

Hi all, brief rain this morning meant temporary cooling, not for long though, thunder rocked about for two hours earlier, came to naught, it’s so humid.

I had high hopes of success for my husband, but he has just returned from seeing his GP, after a discussion he decided to postpone the injection !

We've had another very hot & humid day here, (Cambs.,), no sign of any rain, (nor the thunder storms that were forecast).

I am considering retiring with a new book as DH is complaining there is nothing to watch despite us having every channel and App known to man 🤣🤷‍♀️

Caught in a storm today. Fortunately I had an umbrella which kept my head dry but didn’t stop my trousers getting soaked from ankle to knee. Because it was so warm there was steaming and speedy drying. Mad though it sounds I thoroughly enjoyed it .

I’m feeling vaguely hysterical. It seems that while the referral to the Pain Clinic has been accepted, hooray, the waiting list is full and I’m on a pre waiting list. I’m told maybe six months to make it to a waiting list which will be at least 9 months long. I’ll be forgetting about that one then!

It’s been very hot here today. I’m not surprised a storm appeared. Dry day promised tomorrow thank goodness, best get on.

Sat in the sun today, covered in factor 50, but got too hot after a little while and had to come indoors.

Suffolk has been warm and humid today too. We have not had any rain or thunder, thank goodness, as the granddog is terrified of thunder. The DGC went home last night and we have had a good day clearing up, washing, ironing and packing before we head off to France on Saturday. There’s a meeting here tomorrow afternoon and then it’s all downhill.
I like to leave the house and garden clean and tidy but that’s going to be a struggle!
That pain clinic wait is just ridiculous corner. I have been waiting nearly 12 months for my knee surgery- hoping for September 🤞.

Our whole lives were before us and we had 60 years and 4 months together.
I am thinking this morning of our friends here in the kitchen and on GN who are facing difficulties and heartbreaking times ahead and my thoughts are with you.

I’m having a pottering day, in and out of the garden, bed stripped and washing on the line, more stuff received from DD2s to sort out - bags for eBay, bags for the charity shop and bags for the bin - why me I ask!! 🤣 anyhow it keeps me busy, I’m still sorting all the jumbled up back into sets too

Annsixty ❤️. A bittersweet day for you. I finally made lime curd and it is lovely. I'm very pleased with it. Dd and the boys called in and stayed for lunch and that was nice too. Brook it's warm and windy here but clouds are gathering.

We are moving our pictures around again and the Flamingo print is now in the dining room.

Our spring water supply tank up on the hillside, is being repaired. We are having to watch every drop of water we use until it has been fixed. I must away to assist Mr Soop with a wee mountain of dishes that have accumulated since breakfast time. How easy it is to take a regular water supply for granted. A pal has been filling a container with water from his home in the village. We are so looking forward to a proper shower sometime soon.

It’s slightly cooler today with a breeze, I enjoyed lunch out with a friend and a good chat, then I had my fringe trimmed for free, no diy this time.
