This links to the 'people who only talk about themselves' thread - before covid I made a forum friend elsewhere. We shared a hobby and during covid we chatted often and it was good fun. Several years on it's no longer fun. The emails are almost daily and have settled down to recounting her family's comings and goings, holidays, successes etc. There's the odd 'how about you?' thrown in but as I don't have an equivalent life I'm not really interested and don't have anything useful to add. At least I assume that as nothing I write about gets picked up in her reply. I feel we've run our course and would like to stop the messages. I know the youngsters ghost people on social media (ignore and/or block people) but it seems very rude to me but what's the alternative? Any suggestions?
