Good morning from a bright Black Country, where it rained off and on most of yesterday.

Made 2 Date & Walnut cakes yesterday, some for the freezer.

Walking group walk this morning, then Line Dancing this afternoon.

I hope your roof is finally sorted Gramaretto we have a period of leaks a few years ago.

Good morning all and I’m surprised to see a lovely sunny start to the day. I expected rain! It will arrive this afternoon, no doubt.

Yesterday we had monumental cloudbursts . Little DGD loved being in the conservatory with the rain hammering on the roof. Deafening!

Today I’m off to Chimes group and we’ll undoubtedly be in fits of giggles when someone/something goes wrong. It can sound lovely but often cringe makingly awful! 🤣🤣. We’re practising for the Christmas concert. Surely we’ll be note perfect by then! 🤔.

GM that seems an awful lot to take on. They take advantage of willing , reliable souls in the church! Take care 🙏.

Roofs leaking are a blooming nuisance as it’s so difficult to find the cause. Hope yours is fixed soon Gramaretto 🤞.

I was awake at 4.30 too GG. Some alarm somewhere was going off and then I couldn’t get back to sleep. Probably have a nap this afternoon.😴. (While I’m reading my book in the conservatory). 🙄.

Good morning all. Sunny her at the moment but will it last?

DD1 had 20 people at her BBQ to celebrate her 50th birthday for family on Saturday. The rain had been torrential in the morning but the weather improved in the afternoon albeit with a couple of heavy showers. They had a gazebo which helped. It was cold though. When we arrived the temperature was 14°c. No summer dresses were worn. On the way home yesterday we had to shelter in a lay-by with several other cars as a pitch black sky dumped its contents making driving too difficult.

Hope the twins enjoy their first day of nursery Bellasnana.

Yesterday family went to Cadwell park for the motorcycle racing, unfortunately they witnessed a massive crash. DS's photos show bikes and riders midair.
Today we are thinking, of going to the seaside.

Good morning from Durham where the sky is clear blue and the forecast is for a sunny day, rising to 18 degrees.
I’m still feeling stiff following my skid on Saturday, so I’m meeting a friend this afternoon rather than first thing.
Must sort out some clothes to take away on Wednesday and give everything in pots a good watering later.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, but showers forecast from lunchtime onwards. I think I shall chance putting some washing on when I get back from yoga.

Bus to and from yoga this morning, as my usual lift has an urgent appointment in town.

Another day at home yesterday; showers were forecast but we only got one, in the morning. I spent the afternoon weeding the drive which badly needed doing.

Rang an ex-colleague/good friend late afternoon and had a good catch up. We met teaching at the same school in 1972 when we were young marrieds in our twenties, and have remained firm friends ever since. She was diagnosed with bowel cancer last year and after surgery is doing very well, and has just been given the all-clear after her first year scan.

Nothing else planned for today apart from yoga and the washing.

Must get my skates on or I shall miss the bus!

Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire.

I think we’ve been very fortunate with the weather in Ireland, it was certainly cool but what rain there was fell overnight until yesterday morning when there were a couple of sharp showers before the skies cleared again.

I felt the usual tug of sadness as I had to leave it all behind me even although we didn’t go to Dublin and didn’t see any family this time.

We got home late in the evening after spending some time in Derry looking at the Bogside Murals and memorials, the girls also wanted to see the Derry Girls mural.

A day of laundry and possibly relaxing with a book this afternoon.

I’ll be having a cheese and tomato toastie and a milkshake for lunch today. I was at my neighbours BBQ on Friday and I had a great catch up with neighbours I haven’t see in ages, they have been so kind to me by bringing me lovely home cooked meals I’m so blessed

Yesterday morning was grim, I felt really grotty with this odd infection, it's not my chest, it's not Covid. I rallied sufficiently after lunch to make a pot of jelly from my blackcurrant berries. That's one kitchen garden success. My early new potatoes aren't. I dug up two plants, one had one small potato on it and no sign of more to come, the other had one meal's worth. When I cooked them, they completely disintegrated! I shall steam the rest, assuming there are any. As for my runner beans, they are completely destroyed by the slugs...I assume, though my peas look well.
Today I'm still wobbly so I shall pace myself. I was awake for ages in the early hours and none of my usual get back to sleep tricks worked.

I've been sorry to hear about your roof Grammaretto, what a disappointment for you when I guess you thought it sorted. I hope it's sorted this time.

Hi just popping in from Central Scotland to say I am still here. I read your posts every day but little has been happening here to write about which maybe is a good thing. The weather here as you know from others has been pretty miserable hardly had any summer clothes on in fact I have just bought two new jumpers. I think it is supposed to be dry today so we must get out for a walk otherwise nothing planned.
Visit to the lawyer tomorrow to add on something to our wills just to save any future problems. Grandmabatty I found treacle scones in Dobbies that is my craving satisfied for now. Hope all the poorlies and those struggling have a better day.

He says he's almost sure he's found the reason.
I hadn't paid the bill but I had sent it to the insurance in the vain hope that they might pay some of it.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Nice day yesterday with old friend having lunch and seeing a small exhibition of women landscape artists. It got sunnier as the day went on, but still a little chilly. My friend was in better form than the last time we visited the gallery, when his macular degeneration gave him a funny turn.

Returning home and making a connection, a very long escalator was broken and I was so puffed climbing it, I must be rather unfit…

Stuff to the charity shop today and DD arrives from the south tomorrow so will prepare for that.

I got my shopping in early this morning, the car has to go for an inspection , we hope it’s back in time as I have an appointment with the Audiologist at 3.30

Good morning from West Sussex by the sea. It is cloudy but dry here at the moment. I have to go and pick up GD (9y) from school and ‘entertain’ her for about 45m before returning to school to pick up her younger sister who will have been at craft club. We may go for coffee and bubble tea at Costa, apparently 🙂
I have a uti and picked up an antibiotic on Friday which I shoved in my jacket pocket and then somehow managed to lose it while shopping in Tesco. I have also lost my glasses case so I think I must have pulled out the bag with the antibiotic when I took out my glasses. I’ve been back to see if anyone found it but no joy. I have asked for a replacement which I shall collect later (or may have to send DH, as I will be away by the time it’s ready).

My sympathy to you, EkwaNimitee, both re your infection and re your struggling veg. We are on our third sowing of runner beans and they are actually growing this time. Potatoes have been ok but tomatoes very slow. Pumpkin has been eaten by slugs/snails (very tasty stems, apparently).

Hope you are fully recovered from your ‘skid’, before your holiday, Georgesgran.

Mizuna, you’ll soon be out and about again. Hope the migraine has cleared.

Grammaretto, that roof 😱. My DD and SiL are having similar problems with a damp wall. Eventually diagnosed as caused by cavity wall insulation. It was supposedly removed but rain still coming through. Inspection showed patches of insulation still in there.

Marydoll, I hope things improve for you soon. Glad you have been able to enjoy time with your GCs.

Ww2, I’m enjoying the bird reports. I am bad at id but have installed a bird sound app and it is wonderful to know what is around.

Baubles, my DH was born in Derry/Londonderry. We had a few days there walking the walls etc a few years ago. I hope we can get to Donegal and the west coast again sometime soon. It is so beautiful.

Must go and catch the train (more relaxing than driving).
