Plonker is in regular use in our household, applied to everybody but ourselves of course.

I still say "pictures" rather than cinema. I prefer "tuppence", "thre'pence" and "fourpence" to two pence, three pence and four pence. Not quite sure how to spell them though.

My old dad used to exclaim ‘hell’s bell’s and buckets of blood’. And one exclamation I find myself using frequently is ‘oh my giddy aunt’, which my old mum used a lot.
I don’t think either have been in common use for a long time alongside ‘codswallop’ and ‘bonkers’.

Most. People seem to think it not sufficient and say "the bulk of", so ugly. Weather forecasters say "the bulk of the cloud" which seems to me a contradiction in terms.
