Utbb,
what would you program into the ideal robot nurses/doctors
Good Morning Wednesday 27th May 2026
Robert Kenyon, Reform's candidate for Makerfield. Would you let him in your house?
In *soop’s absence I’ve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterday’s quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, I’ve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With 🌹to soop and others struggling.
Utbb,
Thank you Baggs .
Thank you baggs. Your kindness is sending an update is hugely appreciated.
As ever love goes to Soop and Mr Soop.
A day for good memories usedtobeblonde.
.
Just had phone call from DD, we now have The Imp and 10yr old here this evening, frantic searching through freezer for dinner for them.
I am such a softie where the GC are concerned, I cannot say no 🩷💙
Thank you all for the kind thoughts.
Today is full of memories but no sadness, Alzheimer’s is so cruel, I did my mourning long before my H died.
Grannygravy I know what you mean! I can't say no to looking after the boys either.
Today I had the bed stripped, washed and hung out on the line by half nine. Then I met a friend for breakfast at the local garden centre, our usual haunt. An hour later, DD, Dsil and the boys appeared for breakfast too! Once back home, I cleaned the bathroom and then ironed everything. It's all put away. Tesco delivered so the fridge and cupboards are full. I'm thinking about dinner now but having a glass of white wine first. Steak pie and chips I think. My ankles are badly swollen so I need to put my feet up, literally. Have a good evening Kitcheners
Grandmabatty I thought I had finished all my ironing this morning, went back into the laundry and low and behold I saw the bedding, so that’s one of my jobs for tomorrow 🧺
Grannygravy oh no! How annoying.
utbb I understand, my Mum had dementia for ten years.
Can I just say watering with a can, rather than the hose is tedious!
But it’s now done, for tonight anyway, it’s been a pleasantly warm day, deadheading and removing rogue weeds passed some time. I then read the paper and am left with the puzzles and crosswords to do as and when.
Lots of local children’s events locally, music, food and games including a teddy bears picnic, my days of going are long gone.
I hope soop has finished being tested and is reasonably comfortable, hopefully her Mr can stay near the hospital, he doesn’t need the complication of travelling.
Enjoy your evening all.
A drier day today after yesterday’s rain, but cloudy and cool most of the day. The sun did come out late afternoon and evening and it was a little warmer. DD2 and family took the dog out for a long walk this morning, after which she slept for most of the day. Played ball with her later.
I hadn’t slept well last night, so haven’t done much today.
utbb I’m pleased you have happy memories of life with your DH. My mum had dementia for seven years and sometimes it’s hard to remember the person she was prior to the dementia.
Have a pleasant evening folks.
Baggs Thanks, it is much appreciated. I do hope McSporran can stay nearby. He has enough to worry about without adding his accommodation to the list.
I am waiting patiently in my area of London for rain.
My GD ,her BF and I have had a lovely meal, Chateaubriand with mushrooms, and veg, dauphinois potatoes and a lovely sauce.
A nice Portuguese red I have discovered and a bottle of English sparkling wine, Chapel Down, which was gifted to me by a friend.
On the whole a nice remembrance of my life with my husband.
I know how lucky I have been and I wish for all of you the same.
I know that is not feasible but I wish you best wishes for the life you have.
I do wish there was a like button. So many of the posts on here today reflect exactly what I am thinking.
That sounds an absolutely delicious dinner utbb, and a lovely way to celebrate the life of your late DH.
What a lovely way to remember your late husband Uttb so pleased you’ve enjoyed a delicious dinner with your GD and her BF, they sound such a lovely couple
Thank you Baggs for the update on Soop, such a strong, brave lady x
Dragonfly has put exactly what I was thinking too.
x
Sadness but also lots of love and happy memories here tonight.
We get our DGC tomorrow afternoon GG13, until Tuesday morning. I have bought a pompom making kit and I have plenty of wool, so DGC and I can start that. We had to do an emergency shop to stock the freezer!
Sleep tight everyone x
Hello everyone, I'm a usual lurker but thought I would brave a hello. Rotten weather here in the north east England today. Luckily DH got our pup out before the rain started this morning. It will be a book reading and leftover Chinese food type of day.
A mixed bag of weather so far today for us, a bright morning with some cloud and fairly warm. We’ve had a light shower and it’s now grey and cool!
I went back to my house this morning, all well there, but I had to water the tomatoes, dwarf beans and some of the other plants in pots. We may have some rain tomorrow and Tuesday, but I’ll probably go back on Wednesday just to check, especially as it’s supposed to get warmer later in the week.
I’m going to DD2’s for a meal this evening, the dog is invited too, I’ll feed her before we go out I don’t want to have to carry her bowl, food etc.
DD1 FaceTimed yesterday evening from their hotel. Looking very tanned!
I’ll speak to a friend before I go out, for our usual Sunday catch up, which normally takes an hour or so!
Enjoy the rest of Sunday everyone.
Good afternoon everyone, it’s been a quiet day here and I’m pleased to report my health is improving. Sending love to the FGT2s and the Soops.
Utbb your meal sounds lovely 🌹.
Blossoming glad to read you are improving at last .a quiet day here oh putting second coat of paint in toilet.
It's getting windy here ,stay safe all.
Utbb, souns a wonderful meal and a chance to share some good memories. A very useless day here though I have read the paper thoroughly and watched two excellent black and white films on BBC2. Supper is warming in the oven and a glass of white wine has my name on it, so not a bad day all in all.
Hi kitchen friends, pork is roasting in the oven, my bags are packed, and DH is looking forward to a week home alone (and probably the peace and quiet)
I probably will not be posting whilst away, but hopefully I will be able to read your news at the end of the day.
🙋♀️
Grannygravy enjoy your time away. UTBB your dinner sounds delicious. Redcar. Enjoy your dinner at your dds tonight.
I have moved all the ornaments and most of the paintings and they are stored in the dining room. Dd and ds are coming over at the weekend to take down lampshades and curtains for me. I'm wobbly on the step ladders and don't want to damage myself. I seem to have an awful lot of stuff despite thinking I had downsized, so I will need to cull some more stuff. My ankles are still swollen but the pains in my feet are subsiding every day. Tonight's dinner will be chilli minus garlic and kidney beans as I don't have any. They'll be on the shopping list for next week. I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday evening.
Hello Claregrey ear welcome to soops kitchen, the lady that started this lovely place and is poorly at the moment.
Pleased to hear that Blossoming at last!
Happy holiday GG13 🌴
Good news about your feet Grandmabatty 👍
A quiet day, garden pottering, MrJ cut the grass, no luck in the meat draw, our friend won three!
👋👋 quiet corner.
