Who else has been eating 🎄presents that were supposed to be for other people?

Only 2 small ones so far, but…

The other week, a packet of National Trust fudge, supposed to be for dh’s stocking.
And last night, several from a pack of Pates de Fruits that were going to a sister. Luckily easily replaced at Waitrose.

I hope I’m not the only one!

In years gne by, I've had to replace many a tin, or selection box of chocolates.

MissAdventure Sun 01-Dec-24 14:19:38

Oh dear, I think it's just us greedy, selfish two, then 🤭

NannyJan53 Sun 01-Dec-24 14:20:25

I have a tub of Celebrations and Heroes hidden in my wardrobe, but I have resisted so far! But your post has just reminded me of them and they are now calling to me tchsmile

MissAdventure Sun 01-Dec-24 14:21:57

Oh, I like Heroes.

MissInterpreted Sun 01-Dec-24 14:21:59

Guilty as charged - but although I've had the odd bits and pieces, it's the OH who is the main offender! Every time I think I've managed to find a hiding place, he ferrets stuff out and scoffs it! Padlocks on the cupboards next!

There's only a swizzles calendar here.
Hardly worth the effort.

I opened a cupboard yesterday to find DH had opened the mini Yule logs and there were only two left.

HeavenLeigh Sun 01-Dec-24 14:47:14

No I’ve not done that but I have bought myself the same thing if I know I’d be tempted

Allira Sun 01-Dec-24 15:19:06

I bought various packets of chocolates and coins and DH asked me to hide them from him.
He has started mince pie testing.

Bridie22 Sun 01-Dec-24 17:02:34

1 packet of chocolate robins gone, tin of biscuits mysteriously opened themselves !!!🤣

Freya5 Sun 01-Dec-24 17:06:48

Oh yes, been there, done that. As yet resisting temptation!!
Loved the Yule log story @GrannyGravy13.

NotAGran55 Sun 01-Dec-24 17:07:00

No, but only because I haven’t bought anything yet. Give it time …

I'm ashamed to admit to eating the odd chunk off my children's Easter Eggs, when having a bit of a tidy up in their rooms back in the dim and distant past. blush

We are so bad that I asked my mother if I could leave some tins of sweets and biscuits at her house , she phoned me the other day to say she was just walking into the village to replace one of the tins of sweets which had apparently opened itself and quite a few sweets have mysteriously vanished !

I dare not even look at my two giant kilogram bags of Lindt chocolate balls and my two giant boxes of Ferrero Rocha chocolates in case I decide to eat them. I climbed on the bed and put them in an overhead cupboard and nearly fell off the bed doing it so I think they will be safe until nearer Christmas.

When I used to hang chocolate decorations on the Christmas tree, the ones wrapped in foil. In the morning when we came down to breakfast a few had been eaten and the foil was just hanging there. We found it was our German Shepherd dog. I thought chocolate was supposed to be poisonous but they didn't affect him at all.

Jaxjacky Sun 01-Dec-24 18:14:44

No, but we rarely buy people edibles and I’m not fussed about chocolate.

Chocolatelovinggran Sun 01-Dec-24 18:59:08

I don't buy any yummy food gifts ahead of time... far too risky.

Mince pie testing is a necessary and gruelling job but thankfully there’s always a few brave people prepared to take it on.We owe them a real debt of thanks for their selflessness.

😆 clever doggie.
A neighbour of mine gives her dog a small KitKat bar to eat every day.He doesn’t seem to suffer so he’s either a tough dog or there’s very little actual chocolate in a KitKat.

Yes, hard work, but someone has to do it

DD's dog managed to open the fridge and raid chocolates. They took her to the vet but she was fine, apparently it depends on weight of dog x amount of chocolate consumed.
She'll eat anything!

It isn't me .
It's the wicked Fat
Christmas Fairy .
She gets more devious every year with her excuses .
She has to test just one chocolate in a box to see if it tastes nice and then there's a gap -so she just has to finish them all .
This WFCF has even been known to unwrap presents .
Her latest excuse -
hypoglycaemia .
