Who else has been eating 🎄presents that were supposed to be for other people?

Only 2 small ones so far, but…

The other week, a packet of National Trust fudge, supposed to be for dh’s stocking.
And last night, several from a pack of Pates de Fruits that were going to a sister. Luckily easily replaced at Waitrose.

I hope I’m not the only one!

When I used to hang chocolate decorations on the Christmas tree, the ones wrapped in foil. In the morning when we came down to breakfast a few had been eaten and the foil was just hanging there. We found it was our German Shepherd dog. I thought chocolate was supposed to be poisonous but they didn't affect him at all.

We were looking after a neighbour’s old lab shortly before Christmas a couple of years ago - he found some of my wrapped presents, inc. a pack of dark chocolate ginger - he scoffed the whole lot - and one of those ‘footballs’ of Lindor - he got all the wrapping off but the metal ball defeated him!

I was a bit worried about the chocolate, but TBH he was absolutely fine.

We once had a family at school who were less than well off. Mum saved up and bought one of those large Christmas hampers. She hid it away. One of her sons found it and when she unearthed it just before Christmas, much of the contents had been eaten. She was distraught when she brought the children to school. Our Head organised a whip round in the staff room, and I very much hope the family had a good Christmas. We had a lovely thank you note from them anyway.

when the children were small I would buy bars of chocolate for their stockings, and I just couldn't resist, so I had to buy them over and over, right up until Christmas...

Never hang tree chocolates up before late on Christmas Eve if you have children in the house 🤶

Are you sure it was your dog who ate the chocolate?

I confess to 2 mince pies eaten as a result of reading this thread and getting the munchies!

Just now. At this unearthly hour. Been up since 4.30. Just saw a box of marzipan fruits. Can't believe I just ripped them open and ate a lovely, squishy orange. Very ashamed of myself. I'll just have to buy some more.

Grandchildrens' Xmas/Birthday/Easter chocolates.
If I know it's there I am soooooo tempted.
Always replace them though.
They know I do it and laugh about it!

Guilty as charged!
Not just chocolates but cheese and stollen too.

Guilty 😔

Guilty as charged. I went for bits and bobs on Monday and one of them is a Marks and Spencer festive chocolate biscuit assortment and I had to slap my hand from opening it up last night. Going to take them to my mother' tomorrow or they won't make it Christmas.
