It's that time of year again - and the launch of our Best reads for Christmas. Over £500 of fantastic books, fiction and non-fiction, great gift ideas for family and friends (and yourself - goes without saying)

Aaaaand - one very lucky person can win all the books featured on the page. To enter simply tell us what's on your Christmas wish list (it can be absolutely anything)

We will be picking a winner at random on 14 December - more details on the page

I would like something new to read. Hubby has been left with the task of finding me a new author smile

To wake up on Christmas morning to discover that I have a beautiful singing voice. The ability to sing would bring me joy.

RECENTLY I HAVE LOST SOME TEETH!
THE DENTIST HAS GIVEN ME A DENTURE
IF I COULD, AND I WOULD,
I'D LOVE TO GO ON AN ADVENTURE.

A COUPLE OF IMPLANTS WOULD BE GREAT!
A LOT BETTER THAN THIS DAM PLATE
BUT AT LEAST I CAN PUT IT IN A GLASS
TAKE MY TIME AND WATCH THEM ACHE!

THERE'S NOT MUCH ELSE I REALLY NEED
JUST SOME BOOKS, FOR A REALLY GOOD READ,
NICE NEW TEETH THAT WOULD DO ME TOO
I JUST HOPE MY CHRISTMAS WISH CAN COME TRUE

As a child in the 1950s I never made a list and was always delighted by the book and toy I received. Money was very tight and each was treasured and well looked after. As I grew up I never changed always preferring a surprise from anyone who wanted to give me a gift but I must admit to saying I loved reading if they needed help. Now retired hubby and I have everything we need in material things and don't exchange gifts but every Christmas we sit, enjoy time with our children and grandchildren, relax and count our many blessings smile

GHD straighteners as mine are broken!!

Maralyn7272 Sun 04-Dec-16 20:01:31

The one thing I'd really love to get for Christmas (besides all these lovely books!) is a rise and recline chair. I've got Multiple Sclerosis and can't get out of our chairs without being pulled up. They're so low and slope backwards and I don't have the strength in my arms to push myself up! So, that's at the top of my Christmas list but I'm not holding my breath!

I would like there to be at least one film over Christmas that I haven't seen before, isn't aimed at children and has a bit of 'grit' to it.

That my 8 month grandson will have recovered from major surgery for cancer and that his follow up chemo will be short. My Christmas wish is that no other baby should ever have to face cancer.

I'd be happy with a new dressing gown. People spend crazy money at Christmas, but something as simple as this would make my day x

Funkyferret Mon 05-Dec-16 00:32:50

Well a great 2017 for all is a must but come Christmas, can someone buy me socks? No one ever does as it's seen as too boring but I would love them.

Amez2012 Mon 05-Dec-16 01:28:53

A coat!

peanutmum Mon 05-Dec-16 02:09:07

I wish for a 'tidying and cleaning fairy', as my house is really really bad.

futuregran1 Mon 05-Dec-16 10:21:28

Top of my Christmas Wishlist is World Harmony. We are losing so much potential by hating people and the world has so much to gain by working with each other.

Scungybear Mon 05-Dec-16 11:28:49

Of course, what I want most is for all my family to be happy and healthy, but I would like an iphone too!

Jinty44 Mon 05-Dec-16 17:12:00

I am very shallow. I want this mug for Christmas grin.

Nickyh173 Mon 05-Dec-16 17:53:30

A beautiful IPad would be a dream come true!
