Just opinions wanted..
I'm really not sure about having one...I haven't felt 100% since having the 1st booster... also had covid in March...

Honestly, you surprise me.

I would never dream of not having any and all vaccinations that our Health Service are providing free to my age-group.

Covid, flu, pheumonia - and anything else that is going. I am in no hurry to be ill, or die, I can assure you.

If you truly have an adverse reaction to vaccinations, I respect that, but all this shilly-shallying about whether approved vaccinations are good, bad or indifferent, is ridiculous.

I don’t think the AstraZenica is being used for boosters. I understood it will be Pfizer or Moderna.

dlizi4 Sun 18-Sept-22 11:39:13

I would suggest to anyone to read the Pfizer papers before making decisions about this

No hesitation here at all in having the next booster this week. I had Covid and I don't want it as badly again! Ignore all anti-vax crap.

We had the booster yesterday - it was Moderna and covers Omicron and one other variant.
I will take everything that is offered if not for me but for everyone around me.

While I do not doubt that the vaccinations do cause side affects in some people. It does needs to be remembered that just because you have an unpleasant health event immediately after the vaccination, it doesn't necessarily follow that they are related, it could be just a coincidence and the unpleasant health event would have occurred whether you had the vaccination or not.

I'm due to have my fifth one in just over a week and I will be having it. I had covid just before my first jab was due and spent time on a covid ward. Never again.

My 84 year old mum who lives with us had fortunately had her jab 2 months earlier and despite being on chemotherapy for incurable lung cancer and a chronic asthmatic she got away with a cough and feeling a bit rough for a couple of days, while I lay in hospital, so go figure. It's a no brainer for me smile

Alioop Sun 18-Sept-22 11:47:16

I'll be straight to my GP as soon as I get my text message to book an appointment.

Theoddbird Sun 18-Sept-22 11:47:19

I have had no side affects in the past. I think this booster will be an annual thing the same as the flu one. I have my covid booster booked.

Bijou Sun 18-Sept-22 11:50:00

I have had no problems with previous jabs but after last week’s pain in the arm, and cold like symptoms and swollen arm.
My son had a temperature after his and daughter in law had swollen arm. Was warned by the nurse this was different.

Janetashbolt Sun 18-Sept-22 11:51:08

I had quite a bad reaction to last covid vaccine but last month I got covid and it was horrendous so have booked my seasonal booster. Won't have the flu at the same time as my arms bruise and then I can't sleep on my side. I'll have the flu vac later and I've been offered the shingles vac as well which I'll have in between. Just call me pin-cushion

Suzey Sun 18-Sept-22 12:04:22

I've not had any and no plans to start

LJP1 Sun 18-Sept-22 12:17:04

Your immunity is just waning now so a booster is timed ideally. Go for it - it must be better than hospitalisation and possibly a vertilator!!

Good luck! flowers

GrannySeaside51 Sun 18-Sept-22 12:23:35

I had my 2nd Booster and a flu jab yesterday (Saturday) - one in each arm. I was anxious about the wisdom of having them both together but after talking to the GP administering them and feeling reassured, I went ahead. Apart from a slightly stiff flu jab arm, I’m absolutely fine.

Paperbackwriter Sun 18-Sept-22 12:32:29

I really can't understand why anyone who was OK with having the first lot of vaccinations would now refuse to have another. Whatever planet of non-logic are they on?

Saggi Sun 18-Sept-22 12:33:29

I’ve had first three….. and since the third I’ve had Covid twice! Not bothering with it anymore!

Nannashirlz Sun 18-Sept-22 12:35:41

I’ve got a low immune system so im grateful to receive them rather be safe than sorry im also having my 6th same time has my flu jab which I got in both arms at same time last year lol

Stella14 Sun 18-Sept-22 12:37:08

Remember any side effects are a small example of what you’d experience from the Covid infection itself. I’m a Behavioural Scientist and I trust the Science. I accept that any immunity I have is waining and I look forward to my next booster.

Bazza Sun 18-Sept-22 12:48:07

We’ve had our booster in our local pharmacy, out in a couple of minutes. The only side effect we’ve ever had is a bit of a sore arm. We’ve never had covid, either the vaccinations are doing their job or good luck

Flakesdayout Sun 18-Sept-22 12:50:42

I have just had my Fifth about an hour ago. It was Moderna. I wasn't prepared for how chilly it was outside and that is my only whinge!

HannahLoisLuke Sun 18-Sept-22 12:58:05

Got my appointment for flu and sixth covid jab next month. No problems with previous five and when I got covid in May it was no more than a few sneezes and sore throat. As I’m clinically vulnerable I was terrified of catching it but thanks to the vaccines I was fine.

Bluecat Sun 18-Sept-22 13:04:54

We had ours last week. I was fine, my DH had mild cold-like symptoms for a couple of days but nothing much. Unless you have a good medical reason, I think that it would be foolish to decline the vaccine.

We both had Covid at Easter but, as we were fully vaccinated, neither of were very ill. It could have been so different if we hadn't had the jabs, particularly in the case of my DH who has uncontrolled asthma.

My advice would be to get it done, as soon as you can.

Shazmo24 Sun 18-Sept-22 13:15:02

You may be suffering from Long Covid which has nothing to do with the booster. I will have it as volunteering with my surgery to help run the Flu & Booster clinics and also invigulating exams at my local secondary schools but then I've had no problems with any of them and I've had 2 x AstraZeneca & 1 x Pfizer. This next one may be the Moderna one

lemsip Sun 18-Sept-22 13:18:42

those that say they had it then got covid should realise that had they not had a jab they may not have recovered from covid!

Astra zeneka is not used anymore at all.

Coco51 Sun 18-Sept-22 13:19:37

I’m in line for my 6th - immuno suppressed and can’t risk not having it. I’m also still very careful with who I see and wear a mask when indoors to pick up DGD and DGS from school.
Remember it’s not just you who may contract Covid - it’s who you might infect.
