2nd Booster...

Apparently I can go to Boots for my 'flu vaccine. I had forgotten about this, we did this a few years ago! I had no reaction to the Covid vaccine.

I don’t think I will have another booster. I had Astra Zeneca 1 and 2 with some side effects which weren’t too bad. Then last November I had the Moderna booster. I was really, really ill for a fortnight afterwards. I couldn’t sleep for the shooting pains throughout my body. At one stage I felt needles were being ejected from my big toe. But the real shock came on day 4 when I thought I was having a heart attack my chest pains were so bad. I knew if I phoned 111 I’d be told to go to A&E which I absolutely did not want to do.

I had Covid in March. All I had was a day in bed, bit of a sore throat and a temp of 37.7c and a few sniffles.

I have already had five, and will have the sixth one on Monday afternoon when my DH will have his fifth. We checked that this wasn’t an error as it is a Bank Holiday, but apparently they are still going ahead.

We understand this may be combined with the ‘flu jab so I am a bit apprehensive, but I reason that if someone has deemed them necessary for me, then I should go ahead and have them.

The WHO has said that the end of the pandemic is in sight, and we need to keep going to cement all the good work we have done. That includes taking vaccinations if we are able.

If the end of the pandemic is drawn out longer than it needs to be because people think "three is enough", I'll not be a happy camper.

I've not had one and I'm not planning on either

Just back from having my fifth Covid vaccination. So quick and easy, no queuing at all. It was at a health centre in a nearby large village. I have not previously had any side effects other than a sore arm, so I am optimistic. This one works against the original and the Omicron variant.

I meant the sixth covid injection, I don't know of anyone else, having their sixth. People tell me I must be mistaken, that I have had five! .

I didn't even have to book it, I received the appointment for a venue ten minutes away and five minutes from my daughter's. I could have asked for better service.

I have had them both together each time. I hope all goes well on Monday for you.

I know just what you mean Marydoll it came to the point where I actually checked my cards to make sure that I had already had 5, and there it was duly date stamped. I knew it was one more than my husband, but he couldn’t remember whether he had had 3 or 4. I assume there will be a number 7 in three months time, no doubt they will tell me on Monday, take care and have a good weekend.

DH had his yesterday mine is next week. He was given the new one, worked on over last few months, specially primed for Omicron and derivatives. I really want that one but will accept the “ordinary” one if offered. I have not reacted to any jab, nor has he, except a sore arm, and a deep sense of being part of something very big, troubling and complicated. I can also understand reluctance

We are booked in for covid and flu jabs on 15th Oct. It will be my sixth covid one as I’m immunocompromised after blood cancer,5th was in June.
We had texts from NHS and same day message from surgery to book both jabs at the same venue as last year. DH will be having his fourth covid and his flu.
Had Pfizer up to now with no problem so fingers crossed Moderna is the same.

I had my vaccine yesterday. I had some joint pains and will rest for a few days. After the first one when I overdid things straight after, and then felt unwell, I'm just more careful with straining joints.

This one protects against several variants - and so hopefully gives some protection against mutated variants. I'll certainly be having mine.

Like merlotgran if it is on offer, bring it on. I have it and my flu jab both booked for next week, they invited me so of course I took up the offer. Why wouldn’t I?

I've had 3 jabs with horrific side effects so not willing to take a 4th. It's not worth the risk. I passed out 3 times and opened my eyes to find myself on the floor. This was the day after each vaccine. Also injection like pain to both kidneys an hour after 1st vaccine and then bladder problems for a week. Also uncontrollable shaking all night from the first jab and shaking episodes from the second. I was OK with the 3rd but not willing to risk a broken hip or being knocked out while driving the car.
I'm very stable on my feet and have never fainted or fallen before or since.

I had my autumn booster yesterday , I’m clinically vulnerable and am so relieved to have been given it. Flu jab on 1st October. I believe the booster is only half a dose so I feel fine. Don’t worry about it xx

Going to be having my 6th Covid vaccine at start of October. I am CEV, (Clinically Extremely Vulnerable), with numerous autoimmune conditions/vasculitis and many more illnesses and on steroid medication to keep me alive, so it can't come soon enough.

I’m getting the flu vaccine next week and have been asked to book my Covid booster. I’ll book it for October as we’re travelling to New Zealand at the end of November and want the immunity to be at a good level for that as we’ll be 24 hours on the plane.

Been called for my fifth this coming week together with a flu jab. I'll be taking the flu jab but rejecting the covid booster as I know the after effects of the booster are always unpleasant with me. I'm reading the evidence now being published as research samples have become bigger and longitudinal information is available - seemingly, the reactions after the astrazeneca are the highest number of reactions per head of population than any other vaccine in history and those reactions are not simply an sore arm for a few days but widespread myocarditis, a huge immunocompromiser with lifelong effects. This is not to mention the hundreds of thousands of DVTs and smaller, stranger clots that have killed/endangered statistically significant numbers of people - this was a vaccine hailed as a breakthrough and given to all age groups - now it's banned for children as the evidence of permanent weakening has emerged. We need to read the research and look carefully at the probabilities here instead of continuing to shore up big pharma because that's all we're really doing. So I shall be rejecting my booster and OH will be accepting his because despite being hospitalised with a DVT after his first jab, he's bought into the fear whipped up by the government, the media and pharmaceutical companies.

I don’t think it fair to put your allergies on this thread. The Covid vaccine team would not give a vaccine that was dangerous to someone who had had an allergic reaction on previous occasions . Makes me cross to think someone might be unprotected because of a scare story ?

No boosters for me. I had the first 2 covid jabs, I’m not having anymore. I also had covid in March. We only have one flu jab a year don’t understand the need for boosters. Also I don’t see any proof there needed.

Had the Moderna spikevax last week, only a sore arm afterwards and glad to have had it

Had mine yesterday after my flu jab! Sore arm but necessary !
Had CoVID in March and so glad I had been vaccinated ! A bit tired today but worth it in my mind !!
