2nd Booster...

I had my fourth in March….no side effects….but last week I caught Covid so it really puzzles me! I was planning on having my 5 th before going on a trip in October but certainly shan’t bother now ….guess I’ve got my natural immunity by catching what I’ve so desperately been trying to avoid!

I am undecided about a further vaccination. Like the flu jab they appear to offer limited protection for the average person. And for exactly how long do they want to keep pumping this stuff into us? A longer term solution is desperately needed! I have not myself been aware of having had Covid although as my doctor pointed out I might have not known about it if I had! I am so far fully vaccinated as are my adult children and they all had it, some more than once. would be more interested to know why our Government are not ordering Evusheld developed by AstraZeneca to protect the vulnerable and immunocompromised. It has been passed as safe for use in this country but the powers that be are not satisfied about its effectiveness. It is being ordered by very many other countries however, who are. In view of the woeful record of NICE refusing to sanction the use of various cancer drugs on the same grounds, I am very cynical about this. Like the questionable pronouncements of the unelected SAGE committee, I don’t trust this decision one bit.

I shall be getting mine. My husband has just had his letter in the post inviting him to book an appointment. He is 67. I am older but haven't received my letter yet.

I am having my covid booster this week and my flu jab in October.

My dh had his 4th jab (he is over 75) in May and then in June we both had covid. I suspect we caught it when we were on holiday in Scotland. Dh only had mild symptoms but I felt really rough and light headed for about a fortnight and we had an ambulance come out to check me because my oxygen level was so low. I will have any vaccine going.

i've got my flu jab this coming wednesday and my covid booster the following tuesday.
i'm ok with getting my covid booster - thankfully i've had no after effects from any if my three jabs so far.
if having a jab keeps covid from my door then i'll be there with my sleeve rolled up ready!

I shall have my 2nd Booster when called I had covid at the beginning of the year I would not have known I had got it if I had not been testing I had zero symptoms.
The vacinnes are doing their job my last booster was Dec 2021 so I now expect it to be a yearly event.

Just had my 4th booster (so 5 jabs in all!). Only side effect is a slightly sore arm which wears off qiickly.
Shall go on having boosters as long as they offer them. Not had covid (touch wood!) Only elder grand-daughter and DS-in-law have had it. DS has escaped it, despite being a key worker in London throughout all lockdowns.

Please look at the data about injuries side-effects and deaths from this vaccine. One of my close friends in France died inmediately after receiving it, and my ex-husband collapsed on the way home and had to be rushed to hospital.
Your body is designed to heal itself to the most amazing degree.
Ask for the ingredients of what is being put into your body, and do your own research on what is happening.
I am amazed and horrified at so many people who are prepared to go ahead with this.

As soon as someone writes do your own research then I believe that their argument is lost.

I don't think any of us have had time since March 2020 to retrain as vaccinologists and get to a level where we are able to "do our own research".

Reading stuff on the Internet isn't the same as doing research

My husband has MS & we asked the consultant last week & he advised us against having any more because of adverse reactions. I’m afraid I will not be either, had 3 jabs & had Covid. Enough is enough.

Dh is having his 5th and I and having my 6th tomorrow afternoon.

No flu vaccination, no Covid booster. Ill after each Covid jab, getting worse after each one, followed 2-3 weeks later by raging (and I do mean raging) candida - ?. I yellow carded the last jab; it was quite frightening the suddenness and intensity of the symptoms. The injection sight still aches now. Had Covid twice in 3 months recently and luckily not too bad either time. I am not particularly vulnerable health wise, eat a balanced diet, take kefir daily and am back on the VitD3 and K2 for the winter. I’m going to roll the dice and take my chances. It’s all personal choice. Good health to all.

am a bit puzzled.
the person i know who is bed-bound did receive a call from local pharmacy, asking did she want the latest covid booster jab. yes please. come asap.
i looked on nhs website and it says not to have this unless/until she has had 3rd primary dose,
as she is immuno-suppressed.
we are not sure what she's had but doubt she had 3rd primary. was always fobbed off when we tried to discuss with GP etc.
guess we will ask pharmacy jabbers if when they come.

as i am ambulant, looking up nhs website, seems i am expected to find a pharmacy doing covid boosters, none local.
for flu jab, GPs are doing usual walk-in on a sunday morning in oct. which is good.
wish they could do covid at same time.

Had Moderna last Friday we didn't have appointment just turned up at walk-in centre. Total wait incl. jab 50 mins. There was a separate queue for appointments but due to no shows we were seen fairly quickly. For info I did have both our NHS numbers written down which speeded up the process. No issues so far except we both have sore arms. As my oh said to the Nurse we've had the full set now (AZx2, Pzrx1, Modx1) and hopefully covered all variants.

We had our Moderna second booster yesterday plus the flu jab in the other arm. We both had a bad night with aching joints and sore arms and neither of us feel too good today but I think it is important to have all the jabs going so I would do it again. Well done those scientists!

I’ve had 3 vaccinations…all had various side effects.
I’ve just had the 2nd booster this morning.
Nothing would have stopped me.
Rather have side effects than Covid in any of its variants.
I’ll have as many as they offer and am extremely grateful for any protection against serious illness and long Covid.

The booster does not stop you from catching Covid, allegedly it reduces the symptoms. If you have had issues after the vaccine, you need to consider what is worse, catching covid or suffering long term side effects from the booster. Only you can decide but do remember that whilst the vaccine is safe for 95% plus of the population, there is a minority that have died from the vaccine. That is not disputed by the government and there are families which are waiting for compensation. Others have lost relatives but are not claiming compensation (like me as I lost my brother to the vaccine). People will say that the precedent is set by the flu vaccine - but I've never had flu and never had the flu vaccine. I know of people that have had the covid vaccine and had covid. I've had 2 vaccines (so not an antivaxxer) but not more. I wish the answer was simple but it is not.

Unvaccinated people are more likely to catch Covid and keep the virus going round and round and mutating more as it keeps going. Better to prevent as many cases as possible for all our sakes.

As far as I’m aware, it’s the vaccinated getting covid

We’ve had two vaccines and one booster each. No more for us. Enough is enough.

Surely after catching covid once, you would want to protect yourself from it further.
So, why on earth are you even questioning having another jab.

For the sake of feeling a little unwell for a few days.?

I am due to have my fifth in total this week, an I am so pleased to get it. Luckily I have never had any side effects from them.

Will have. Immunity from last lot wearing off. Last about 6 months. Wish could have done covid and flu same place/time

Vaccination leads to reduction of severity of symptoms no matter what your friend Betty or your Facebook page says. Sigh.
