It's rife where I live in central Scotland. It never really went away. Two different sets of friends have had it recently. I hope you get well soon

I agree with petra it has never gone away, neither has seasonal flu, nova virus, common cold etc. etc…

I was in London last week for 4 days, had amazing time, met up with family, went to outdoor gig and theatre. Was extremely tired on day we were coming home, started coughing at airport. (Sunday)
Took covid test Monday night, was negative. Got appointment with my GP yesterday at 5pm as feeling so poorly. Did another covid test at lunchtime, positive!!!!

My daughter's in-laws have it at the moment, and my daughter in-law had it last week, after a weekend at Butlins. We are in the West Country.

We have both recently had a nasty case of Covid even though we are both jabbed. DH still can’t shake off some of the symptoms even though it is at least 3 weeks since we had it!

I think that being in crowded places as you & I both were is a breeding ground as the only time I tested positive previously was after a Birthday trip to the Theatre 🎭 with a few packed tube rides .
I can’t remember having a summer cold like this before .

My sister doesn’t go out much but recently met up with friends and did some visiting to a home her friend was in. Typically straight after she’s got covid. Just goes to show it’s still with us.

Both sons had it last week . They hadn’t seen each other recently. One in Essex, the other in Herts.

DH and me have just had it. Never had it before and both fully jabbed. I’ve never felt so ill in my life. Every bone in my body ached and I had zero energy for anything.

We’ve just come back from the Essex Coast where my DD1 lives .
My GD aged 14 in Hertfordshire had it a few weeks ago .
It seems that it is still rife from the responses so far 😞

It never went away and there seems to be a new variant rife. I had it a few weeks ago, and lots of others I know.
I only tested cos I was meant to be visiting family where GD is immune compromised.
Very important we all get the jab when offered.

Sorry…. Here in Bristol. At least four people I know have had it in th3 last week, one is pretty unwell.

My son is on day 5 of his latest bout, he and my nephew have had it. They think probably from crowded South Somerset pub where they were watching England footie semi final game. He felt ill on Sunday (was due out for the final) and happened to have a test from work, it was positive. Just like a bad cold.

Daughter came round on Tuesday morning with granddaughter, daughter felt ill, took a covid test = positive. Daughter went straight back home.

And now I'm sat here waiting to see if I will get it too. So far so good......

I was convinced I had covid recently as I had the cough from hell. (still not quite gone) . But I did a test and it was negative.
Its definitely still around though.

I agree. It is now part of the infectious diseases that go round and round the population, changing slightly as it goes so that you never become quite resistant to it. When people travel from one place to another, they pick up new variants and take them home with them.

I can’t decide whether or not to have yet another jab. Himself had one 2 months ago.

I have been feeling ill since last Friday evening with what I suspect might be my first bout of Covid. I don't have any tests to check and Government/NHS guidelines say no need to test now.
Whatever this illness is, it is quite unlike other infections I have had. I have now ordered a test online but as I am getting better I expect it to show negative anyway.

DS came back from Portugal after a big football event where GS was competing . DS felt unwell coming home on the plane at my suggestion did a Covid test, it was positive! No one else in the family have it luckily as lots of end of term jollies happening. He felt rough for a couple of days and has worked from home till today as now negative. It’s never going to go away and I will continue to have any jabs going..

It's going to be with us just like the common cold and flu. If you have what you think is a bad cold, flu like symptoms do a covid test just to make sure. Test positive stay away from people and crowded p!aces until you've tested negative twice. These were the original guidelines, now it seems there aren't any people, need to use their common sense. Which is fine in general terms, but, people need to work to earn money so they go to work when they really shouldnt, they want to see a film, a play, a concert and convince themselves they're well enough to go when they shouldn't, and then they infect others. And so the cycle continues. Flu kills people, covid is worse than the flu, generally. Yes we have to learn to live with it, it's not going anywhere, please let's use our common sense and think about the vulnerable.

There are no guidelines and people are only testing if they have some old tests left around I doubt they ll be many going out and buying them There’s plenty of Covid around my town but I think by next year we ll just be saying I ve just had the flu I think it will have lost its name and become the norm
