Well thats it done and dusted, I hope you have all survived the holidays.

I had a weigh in on the 27th December and I had gained 2.5lbs, my next weigh in was Thursday 3rd January and I had lost 2lb so I am still up but just 1/2lb but that's fine it will soon be off.

I picked this up at my weigh in the other day and thought you might like it.

Weight Loss is a journey…..

Weight loss is a journey – tackle it in stages
Some may get there very quick, whilst others may take ages.
Weight loss is a journey, some take the stopping train,
And they get off at the station, and then get back on again.
While other lucky people seem to travel by express,
With no apparent effort, each week they weigh in less.
For some of us the journey, too often seems uphill.
We never seem to get that far, struggle though we will.
Weight loss is a journey –anyone can go
But as you travel on your way there’s something you should know.
Losing weight’s a journey that’s different for everyone,
Some are happy to stroll along while the others need to run.
If you want to complete this journey, then forget about the rest.
Each of you must travel the way that suits you best.
As long as you believe it, you WILL get there some day,
And so what does it matter if you've gone the pretty way?
Weight loss is a journey, that certainly is true.
And each of you must travel in the way that best suits YOU.
You’ll make much better progress if you go at your own pace
‘Cos weight loss is a journey- and never a race.

It's the one I'm not sure about? I like warmth.

I'm in the ironic situation of having struggled all last year to lose my ever increasing girth and have now lost so much weight(over a stone) in the last few weeks. DH has been very unwell,in hospital etc that I have lost my appetite entirely. Wish I knew where it has gone. So I don't know if I can stay with this thread to encourage me to eat sensibly? I don't want to end up piling the weight back on but I don't want to fade away.Glass and Grannylin thank you for making me giggle visualising you struggling with body control underwear.

Nanado Fri 11-Jan-13 09:24:35

sew why not stay? If the loss of appetite is due to stress and worry then look on it as that 'silver lining' to your dark cloud.

There are just two questions you might want to consider. Are you now underweight? Or is there another reason why you might be losing weight, a medical one?

If the answer is 'no' then enjoy the new slimmer you smile

sew you have had a very stressful time and it had to show somewhere and at least losing your appetite has some benefits smile stay with us and if nothing else it may just keep you on the straight and narrow, and we will help if we can.

Jodi Fri 11-Jan-13 10:12:41

sew sorry to hear you're under stress, hope things go better soon.
glass I don't know if I should stay or go either? I lost my extra weight before Christmas and haven't put it back on, in fact I've lost another 3lb since last logging in, but this is simply due to being very busy and not having time or inclination to munch. And walking in the hills smile

glassortwo Fri 11-Jan-13 10:15:54

jodi there is no need for you to leave if you want to stay, it may just hold off the munchies and of course you can come and support us all grin you sound so happy!!!

Jodi Fri 11-Jan-13 10:19:13

I am happy sunshine and I'll stay but try not to be too smug. Tell me if I am please!

glassortwo Fri 11-Jan-13 10:22:06

grin

Sew it is understandable that you should lose weight but you do need to eat enough to stay healthy. I think you should take Nanado's advice. Have you looked up what your BMI should be? I always think that is the best guide to whether we are over or under weight.

If you just can't face preparing food or if the actual chewing is a problem why not have a few smoothies or milk shakes? Ice cream is another good idea, I love it snuggled up on the sofa in the evening, eating with a teaspoon it is such a luxury. That's why I don't have it in the house grin

Huge (((hugs)))Sew - bless you, you have been through such a lot. Stay with us as you are part of us!
As Moved said you do need to eat but that is easy for us to say and difficult for you to do, so her suggestions are good. We will all support you and wish you and DH good health and happiness for 2013.
Jodi don't you go either - we need successful people to encourage us! How did you manage NOT to put any weight back on you lucky person you! envygrin
I have been on a real nibble-mission this week with absolutely no willpower. It is cold and wet out which is a real downer where going for a walk is concerned, there are still lots of Christmas and New Year naughty bits about which keep leaping out and forcing themselves into my mouth especially as DH is still in a bit of a sulk - so all in all it's not particularly good!
Perhaps the gluttony fairy will move out soon???
