My father believed in three meals a day and positively no snacks - ever. If I asked for sweets or a biscuit I was told either that I'd just had my breakfast/dinner/tea so couldn't be hungry, or that it was nearly dinner/tea time and I would spoil my meal. Soooo, when I got home for school ravenous and mum slipped me a sugar sandwich, it was illicit, forbidden, and snacks became a secret treat. I think in my head they'd stayed that - a forbidden luxury. That's why they taste so good. I don't actually like biscuits or chocolate that much. Too sweet. But it doesn't stop me eating them!
I'm doing quite well on my three very small meals and two healthy snacks routine - or five meals a day diet. No biscuits, crisps or anything individually wrapped. Have lost a couple of pounds this week.
