Harry: "I want my Father back. I want my brother back"
(1001 Posts)Ah diddums are the consequences of your actions catching up with you?
A change of heart is needed! You need to face up to your own actions and stop acting as the only victim.
I don’t think he should attend the coronation, it will distract people if he is there. He belongs where he is now amongst actors, actresses and egocentrics.
Prince Harry is talking nonsense when he talks of being bred to provide spare parts if William.
Two quite simple reasons are that there is no guarantee of a tissue match with a sibling. Many a close family member has been willing to provide another family member with body tissue, to find they are not a match. the other reason, is that it is not at all uncommon for second sons, the spare, to succeed after an elder brother dies. Edward VII, George VI, the current Duke of Gloucester.
I can see how being described as 'the spare' can have hurt him, but casual family in-jokes or phraseology can hurt without intention. I am the eldest of three girls and when my mother introduced the three of us to anyone, she tended to say 'This is M0nica, my eldest, X, my youngest and this is Z, my other one.
My mother was devastated when my middle sister, as an adult, told her how much it hurt her, always being the 'other one'. My mother had never intended any put-down, but that is how it came across, the irony is , it was my middle sister, who was, perhaps, the closest to our parents.
Another reason. Princess Diana, always made it clear she would have liked to have had further children, but the state of her marriage by then precluded it, and you cannot have a third or fourth child until you have had the second.

What I want to know is why Harry and Meghan initially asked for the half in/half out relationship?
If life was so horrendous and everyone was plotting, why on earth would they want to stay at all?
So they could still be ‘of service’ to the Queen, I suppose?
In other words, half the year at Frogmore, probably in the summer months, when they could attend Ascot, Trooping The Colour, Wimbledon, the occasional garden party, then de-camp to sunny California for the winter months maybe, attending high profile Hollywood type events, but still picking up all the perks of royalty, i.e. the security, staff, the prestige, without having to take part in the mundane cutting ribbons at hospital openings or care homes.
Also known as ‘Best Of Both Worlds’ or ‘Having Your Cake And Eating It’.
(The latter could be the title of their next book).
For commercial reasons. They were more valuable, the closer they stayed to the working RF and had the insiders view to sell.
You’ve hit the nail on the head Calendargirl. When the Queen rightly refused to allow the half in half out, they threw a collective tantrum and now - the revenge.
Alioop, that bought tears to my eyes, I'm not surprised those two little girls have grown into such lovely young women, they and their family surrounded their father with love and care, how it should be in a family, the more you give the more you receive,
You don't take all your hateful thoughts and actions out on other people. Harry will never know peace, when all this circus is is over , what then?
Calendar Girl, very good post.
What a dreadful thing to say and think that he was only bred as spare body parts for William. If he really believes that then he is one sick boy. But when even his beloved Mum kept referring to him as the spare maybe that’s what he thought. I remember when Diana was first pregnant Charles declared that the breeding programme had started. I thought that was a pretty awful thing to say too.
Charles' comment about a 'breeding programme' reminds me of something that was said when my sister was close to giving birth, about being 'close to profit'. The family did breed pigs and this was a phrase used in that context. Charles would be used to hearing these things said about horses, cattle etc. It's how farming folk talk. I don't think my, now adult, niece has a complex about it.
That's lovely for your niece, however we all hold different views and opinions. If my dad had said that I would think it was quitee weird and unpleasant.
Did he say it? I wasn’t there, so I don’t know.
I am aware that people hold on to things they’ve heard, that they don’t like and drag them up repeatedly-like rubbing salt into a wound. That’s why sticks and stones may hurt your bones but names will never hurt you is so untrue.
I’ve got no intentions of watching any of his shows or buying his book I just see a spoil little rich man who has sold his family down the street. I mean if I wrote about my family I’d have a best seller 🤣 but it’s something that you don’t do. I do feel for what he as done to our queen in her last years. How can you be so cruel and to tell lies about racism in the family now he’s blaming press when it came out of there mouths totally disgusting

Mollygo I distinctly remembering him saying it. I can still hear his plummy voice. I thought it very strange and it stuck in my mind. Perhaps some one else on GN will remember and corroborate.
The Breeding comment does not surprise me at all, the aristocracy is all about Pedigree and Breeding, not like pigs, like racehorses, it’s an anachronism but that’s the way the think.

I would also be upset.
I don't have an estranged sibling, but I would be upset whoever published things about me. It's a massive betrayal.
I've no estranged siblings. Maybe I'm unqualified to understand. We have no sons, only lovely sonsIL.
The quotes I've read regarding William don't seem 'massive betrayals' to me.
I do note our sonsIL all 'one-up' and seemingly have an odd Alpha contest. I assume this silly talk of circumcisions (so?) is part to that same 'male contest chat'?
Surely none of that minutia matters?

I would say yes, it does matter and put yourself in William's place!
I have had a mastectomy. Would I want that put in a book and published worldwide? No.
I have lost a lot of my hair. Would I want that mocked in a book and published worldwide? No.
Try having some empathy, Norah
Sparklefizz I agree.
It is not someone else's information to share without permission, especially in a book which is being widely sold.
It's a betrayal of trust.

It's utter drivel!!
There is no guarantee of a match and what on earth does he think would happen if William should, heaven forbid, need a heart transplant?
Would any doctor kill off one human, extract his organs if they were a match, and transplant them into the older sibling, with no guarantee of success?
It's outlandish fantasy.

I have empathy. Thank you.
I have no sons. I assume male circumcision is perfectly normal, not worthy of noting, but also not a thing of worry?
He is bald. Nobody cares, do they?
He looks like a middle age man without hair. Happens often. I don't know why it was written about, but not devastating, surely?
My hair is a pity, I know that, but when it comes up I'm not devastated.
The main problem with H&M's proposed part-time working was that they wanted to keep any money they earned in their time away from royal duties as their own; they had already set up some sort of foundation in their name. This would have led to accusations of them profiteering from their links to the taxpayer funded monarchy, and why their proposals were rejected.
This is exactly what they are doing now, exploiting their connections to make money without undertaking any duties.

The bottom line is that it is not his information to share
We can all see that William's hair is thinning, like his Uncle Edward's, but it doesn't need pointing out by a younger brother with a headful of hair.
It's petty and spiteful.
Harry shouldn’t crow as his own is thinning with a bald patch at the back.
