Ah diddums are the consequences of your actions catching up with you?

A change of heart is needed! You need to face up to your own actions and stop acting as the only victim.

Capital E for Express. Freudian slip?

I can’t agree on the doting mother, she must have caused her sons hurt, she said so much and her actions when she had her sons in boarding school.

Callistemon21 Tue 03-Jan-23 19:31:17

No, it's autocorrect!

It capitalised Express, Republican, Volver etc

And changes capitalise to capitalised.

To add to my M&H Bingo card; "venom", "bile" and "vitriol".

Every word they have said could be the absolute truth...

And still... it's described as such

This is why there is such a general disconnect between generations. Younger people want to talk, they want to be heard, they want to be loved and accepted as they are, they want healthy relationships and they want to heal. Coming up against image orientated rugsweeping families who allow bullying in the press and the public as long as they come out of it smelling good. Also very likely winding up quietly and in person.

Smileless2012 Tue 03-Jan-23 19:37:44

could be the absolute truth is meaningless. It's either true or it isn't and various claims have already been shown to be false and others unsubstantiated.

If people find it hard to believe what they say, they only have themselves to blame.

AGAA4 Tue 03-Jan-23 19:39:50

VS you used the word projection. How my training in psychology has been wasted. 😄

Callistemon21 Tue 03-Jan-23 19:40:12

Younger people want to talk, they want to be heard

Stiff upper lip, old chap, it's the British way!!

Smileless2012 Tue 03-Jan-23 19:45:38

Younger people want to talk, they want to be heard but why talk to the world rather than your own family?

Lathyrus Tue 03-Jan-23 19:48:43

Of course a little listening, love and acceptance of others might be a good idea too……….

Callistemon21 Tue 03-Jan-23 19:49:57

And why are they more important than any other age group?

I think you're right, though, Violetsky
They are often vociferous and some are so sure they are always right.

TerriBull Tue 03-Jan-23 19:54:17

Anyway didn't they have a problem with Thomas Markle, the father they don't want back being indiscreet about family matters, and clearly his pleas for a reconciliation of well and truly fallen on deaf earshmm

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean?

VioletSky Tue 03-Jan-23 20:02:03

Personally I would love to see Charles and William say " we should have had your back with the press" and for Meghan and Harry to say "Thank you, we should have kept things more private" and for them all to reconcile

But I guess I'm alone in that

Callistemon21 Tue 03-Jan-23 20:07:37

No, you're not, of course.

But I don't know how either Charles or William could influence the press.

There have been terrible stories printed about them, especially Charles, over many years.
The only thing they could have done was to advise Meghan (and probably Harry) not to read the reviews.

Nanawind Tue 03-Jan-23 20:10:08

I've only seen clips from the interview.
I feel sorry for him he is a lost soul.
Before he met Meghan he always stated that he wanted to live in South Africa and
help with the conservation. When saying this he looked happy.
Now he's at the point of no return with his family. Who ever is advising him and her
have no idea how the royal family work.
I hope he isn't doing drugs as some on here are insinuating.

Oh good lord.

What next?

Callistemon21 Tue 03-Jan-23 20:15:36

"I want my Father back. I want my brother back"

It does sound rather like part of a script from a film.

Oh - wait a minute, I've just had an idea 💻🖨

Nanatoone Tue 03-Jan-23 20:27:37

All of us can only judge this from our own perspectives. I despise what they’ve done, I find it unconscionable to publicly denounce your family, Royal or not. Some of the posters here always seem to take the moral high ground and it’s incredibly boring to read the tit for tat. Just allow people to voice their opinions and be done with it. I have no special love for the RF itself but I prefer it to other systems. I suspect it will die a gradual death and we will be no worse for it. I like the pomp and circumstance and enjoy national occasions. Just to spite H&M I shall watch the Coronation (I wouldn’t have bothered otherwise). I’m proud of my country and don’t take kindly to rich people moaning. So much here is in turmoil, NHS, schools, public services generally. These pair of wasters should be sent to the Tower. A joke of course, but still…..

But this isn't what he said. He said "I would like" for each of them. Nothing about wanting. But of course expecting accurate reporting of his words is too much to ask for. Or that people actually watch the clip and listen for themselves.

Kamiso, yes your son could, in fact, get a mutli-million dollar contract in the US if he was qualified. And when he got it he would be celebrated for his success.

We have over 300 million people here and no one would look sideways if any of those people wanted to work hard to improve their station.

My problem has always been that the response of "they lie" but then no one seems to think twice when it is proven that the press lied too. Or the misreading in order to make something seem bigger than it is.

They are the ultimate scapegoats.

If with all their wealth, influence and power the King and his eldest son could not accommodate the wishes of one man, his wife and family, could not carry on negotiating with them whilst still protecting and sheltering them, but chose instead to strip them of protection and leave them dependant on the kindness of strangers they can't really expect loyalty can they? It's a two-way thing.

It is a two way thing and you are very biased. Not a fan of the RF but I would give them the benefit of the doubt for the sake of fairness.

Perhaps but there is no doubt that they went from Vancouver Island because they were besieged by the media to the safety of a house owned by an actor they barely knew. Who then built a fence to protect them.
So what protection did they get from the RF? I'm quite willing to be corrected.

I think what you are saying is incorrectly quoted too Glorianny.
He actually said, "I would like to get my father back," which usually implies some kind of wish to obtain or even earn something.
Alternatively he might just be using poor English grammar, the word "get" being a redundant word.

Callistemon21 Tue 03-Jan-23 20:46:25

I was quoting the OP

In fact, I copied and pasted it 🙂 The italics gave a hint.

Oh yes - "do not use get or got" said my English teacher.
