I hope I am committing a sin by starting a new thread but the other one is full and I enjoy it and the photos smile

I popped to the cheap farm shop on the way home from work to buy dog food and vegetables so I have made a sausage casserole with jacket potatoes. I normally put the potatoes in the casserole (I know wink ) but there was no room as I bought a rather nice leek grin it smells delicious smile

A substantial minestrone (I have leftover cooked pasta from the Gdcs to use up) with a tin of butter beans and whatever veg are in the fridge, plus Italian herbs and fresh basil.
With grated cheese and warmed up naan bread.

Roast beef, red cabbage (left over from last Christmas as it's in DD's tupperware!) cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and red wine gravy.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 29-Oct-23 17:47:54

Roast chicken, potatoes and parsnips roasted with garlic and herbs, spring greens and apple and blackberry crumble with cream.

Chicken in white wine and crème fraîche, with new potatoes, carrots, cauli and cavelo nero (from the garden): I’ll start the veg in about twenty minutes.

Duck legs with apple sauce, roast new potatoes and carrots, green beans (home-frozen) and the last two courgettes. Gravy.

Time to steam the veg.

Beef casserole with rice and green beans.

Yummy. My idea of a good meal.

The ‘leftover lamb’ stew I posted about recently - with onions, pearl barley, potatoes, carrots, turnip and peas.

Cheese omelette, home made chips cooked in the air fryer and a green salad and a glass of wine followed by Mango yoghurt and defrosted mango slices on top.

Mary Berry's sausage supper. We have DD1 and family coming for dinner and that takes no looking after while we chat and catch up. Sainsbury's lemon roulade as I have had a really busy week and something had to give.

Mushroom and chestnut stew with crushed potatoes mixed with horseradish and broad beans, followed by stewed plums.

potatoes, broad beans, and plums came from the garden, in two cases via the freezer.

The mushroom and chestnut stew sounds lovely. Do you have a recipe please Monica

Going out to the cinema for 7.30, so a quick evening meal of pasta with mushrooms and leeks in cheese sauce. Apple cake and fromage frais for pud, as we have a lot of windfalls just now. And white wine grin

Chunky fish fingers, chips and peas with homemade tartare sauce today I think. We rarely have pudding other than a piece of fresh fruit but there is a sticky toffee pudding in the freezer 😋

Slow cooked lamb shank tonight with sweet potato mash and green beans. Plum crumble for dessert.

ExDancer Sun 05-Nov-23 17:35:57

Roast beef n Yorkshire pudding. Swede and carrot mash, roast potatoes, peas and gravy. Black forest gateau with cream.
Boring but the boys like it, and its an easy meal and the left overs are easily made into something tomorrow.

lixy Sun 05-Nov-23 17:47:39

Sausages tonight as it's 5th November - with sticky onions and mashed potato. Grandchildren ate all the gingerbread yesterday so no pud sad!

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 05-Nov-23 17:50:50

I was all set to cook lamb leg for MrOops and MissOops but when I opened it up it smelt absolutely rank, sell by date next Tuesday, a quick call to Tesco and a refund sent straight away.

They had steak instead because it was the only thing I had that wasn’t frozen.

Chef is already in the kitchen and tonight’s delight will be duck with red cabbage parsnips carrots and roasties.

grandMattie Sun 05-Nov-23 17:57:26

Two chicken thighs (one for tomorrow) roasted, with roasted vegetables - onion, mushroom, tomato, parsnip, carrots and courgette. I’ll have the other half cold tomorrow night.

silverlining48 Sun 05-Nov-23 17:57:49

No dessert

Piedmont peppers then Fish pie, runner beans and peas, then
Baked Brioche pudding with white chocolate and raspberries.

As I was searching for something in the spice cupboard, DH asked if I knew whether I thought the Grans liked Sumac. I replied by saying that I think most cooks will eat all sorts these days - at least once - especially if following Grandmattie recipes!
When I turned around he was shaking with laughter. Seems he’d wanted to know what people felt about Sunak….Rishi Sunak! Ah well……..🤣

Polenta for a very chilly evening in the Madrid Capital.

henetha Mon 06-Nov-23 18:43:27

I try to use up leftovers so today's meal was a bit strange but nice. Three chicken sausages grilled, runner beans and cauliflower cheese.

Madgran77 Mon 06-Nov-23 18:54:37

Homemade vegetarian sweet potato cheesy burgers with cabbage carrots and courgettes and a white sauce made with a mixture of flour and vegetable bouillon powder! Very tasty

All your teas/meals sound lovley we had a pizza from our local farm shop with salad today, it made a nice change from our usual slow cooker/one pot meals
