FBI by the Shadows
The whole process of going into Neil & Hardy's in Stockport, listening to the record in the booth and passing over my saved up pocket money ( I was 12) felt like an initiation ceremony.....

MiceElf Fri 26-Oct-12 08:25:26

What do you want if you want money? Adam Faith!

Grannylin Fri 26-Oct-12 08:30:18

I'm into something good-Herman's Hermits......and strangely the first line is 'Woke up this morning feeling fine'!

moomin Fri 26-Oct-12 08:34:11

"Diana" by Paul Anka as well! I was only 9 at the time though, think my parents bought it for me - but it was mine!

jane I remember Neil and Hardy's. we would go in there in the 60s and would also hang around The Toggery boutique, hoping to see pop stars like the Hollies, or George Best smile

Ella46 Fri 26-Oct-12 09:45:12

Lets Dance by Chris Montez and Not Fade Away by Rollng Stones first LP which I still have was With the Beatles played in my room after finding it in mum's wardrobe hidden amongst Christmas presents,it was quickly put back into the sleeve when I heard mum coming in from work at 5pm.
I've still got a lot of Del Shannon and early mowtown records which I used to buy in the record shop in Liverpool as soon as I got paid on a Friday before we went to Cavern for the T-time group before we got the Ferry back over the River,if my dad knew where we had been I would have been in trouble grin

Lin1959 Fri 26-Oct-12 12:37:47

I had Boom Bang a Bang by Lulu given to me as a Birthday Present, but the 1st record I bought was Everlasting Love by Love Affair I think around 1967/68
