WOOT - Here it is, our very own shed ( Thanks GSHQ), real posh one too, no more old doors etc. it may be small on the outside but, inside, WOW, it's a tardis, plenty of room for everyone.
However it's a bit bare atm, contributions to make it homely greatly appreciated. BUT remember it's Granddads' shed, no chintz please.

Hope to see you all from time to time.

used to watch my dad milk a cow when I was a little girl if thats any help, gonna have to get that stool out again to sit on !

pompa Fri 24-Jun-11 22:59:41

Sounds good, I have a bucket we can use, now to catch me a goat!!

baggythecrust! Sat 25-Jun-11 07:40:22

You can borrow my virtual garden goats if you like. We considered getting a goat to eat the garden down to a reasonable height but then hubby said it would need a pal and the garden isn't big enough to feed two goats all year round. So then we got some geese, which are natural lawn-mowers but that's another story. Is there a pet story forum yet?

So please may I have a cup of that tea when it's brewed. I'll bring biscuits.

Thanks BtC, this is a nanny goat, I hope wink

baggythecrust! Sat 25-Jun-11 09:17:16

Oh yes. Natch!

Annika Sat 25-Jun-11 10:23:07

Hope the roof of the shed is in good conditiona as we seem to be having a few thunder storms, hope it holds out ok.
Will we be taking a vote as to weather or not we want our mobile phones in the shed with us, I think we should leave them at home hmm

pompa Sat 25-Jun-11 10:43:05

No problem, this is a really posh shed supplied by Gransnet, not the rickety old one we had.

Mobile phones, that causes a dilemma. We have to have internet in the shed, otherwise how do we talk to each other, some Grans may be using their smart/blackberry phones to chat.

Perhaps a compromise, we have them on silent.

pompa...would it be okay to have an old fashioned gramophone player in the corner and some favourite old fashioned records? smile

Annika Sat 25-Jun-11 13:34:48

As any one got old fashioned records I have some old vinyl records but I think you mean the old 78s ( you had to be careful not to drop them as they would smash ) ,The oldest records I have on vinyl would be the Beatles and some Dean Martin now from where I am standing thats not old fashioned but to my grandson that would be !
Will we be having a veg plot by the shed or I am I creating too much work for us all

baggythecrust! Sat 25-Jun-11 13:40:52

I'd love to share the upkeep of a virtual herb garden with some like-minded grans.

Annika Sat 25-Jun-11 13:52:24

baggythecrust you can count me in with the upkeep of a vittual garden and I have some pretty virtual gardening gloves to use smile

pompa Sat 25-Jun-11 13:56:27

Old fashioned Gramophone sounds great ( or should that be sounds grate!) I love those old records. Only have 45's on vinyl, no 78's left, probably broke them or made plant pots from them back in the 50's.

Veg plot is fine, virtual veg are easy to look after. Still time to sow peas, beans, spinach etc.

Annika Sat 25-Jun-11 14:15:00

what about a virtual birdfeeder no messy seed to clear up and more important the seed wont grow in the veg patch

supernana Sat 25-Jun-11 14:25:48

pompa...we could play the Inkspots and songs of that ilk...

Annika Sun 26-Jun-11 16:57:14

think we are going to need some fans to cool things down a little

pompa Sun 26-Jun-11 17:34:40

In keeping with the stylish nature of our shed, it has suddenly grown a verandah with an endless supply of G&T's or Pyyms, what we need is a couple of Punkawallah's (well paid of course, no child labour here). Just get that G&T, close your eyes and imagine you are here.

pompa Sun 26-Jun-11 18:12:32

Got my G&T in hand, time to lay back and enjoy.

supernana Sun 26-Jun-11 20:32:31

pompa How lucky we are to have such a wonderful host to open the door to his remarkable shed and serve us endless cocktails with a big smile

pompa Mon 27-Jun-11 17:27:52

Granddads shed is open for the evening, just a quiet drink after the heat of the day and some friendly chat. (no politics please).
Have you seen my new thread "Make us laugh".

baggythecrust! Mon 27-Jun-11 18:12:49

Hi grandads' shed, hi frogs. I'm off out stitching and bitching having a coffee and a natter with my friends while we do our knitting and sewing this evening and will check out you guys ladies and gentlemen later. Cheer, Baggy

pompa Mon 27-Jun-11 19:14:54

LOL. Political correctness is banned in here, call a spade a spade. I shall have to remember stitching & bitching, next time Mrs. P goes out with the girls.

pompa Sun 03-Jul-11 13:13:45

Pymms, strawberries and cream are being served on the veranda at the shed today. Please join us.

hellypelly Sun 03-Jul-11 14:39:40

Thank you for the invitation to the grandads' shed, pompa. Pymms would go down very well after a hot morning's gardening, if there's any left. I'm still finding my way about on gransnet but it looks fairly diverse and it looks as if quite a few people come here.

pompa Sun 03-Jul-11 15:06:30

Nothing too serious in here, her you are wine

pompa Sun 03-Jul-11 15:07:07

here -- it's that typo gremlin again
